The Hotel Par Excellence in Cappadocia

I stayed at the Kayakapi Premium Caves hotel while I was in Cappadocia, Turkey, on holiday and must say I was very pleased with my stay.

Beginning with booking through their website, every point of engagement I had with the staff of the hotel, either virtually, on the phone, or in person was one that felt like they really cared about my experience.

I booked a three-night deal which included a free shuttle from the Kayseri airport and dinner. The flight from Istanbul to Kayseri was late but the shuttle waited over an hour and a half for us to get there and then took us to the hotel which overlooks one of the major towns in the region, Urgup. The property itself is expansive, but beautifully maintained. The grounds were gorgeously manicured and very clean. Check-in was easy and informative, and then they arranged for one of their golf carts to take us to our room.

I reserved the bottom tier room, which was still very large and sumptuous. There was a king sized bed, two arm chairs, a small table, and a desk in the main room, and also a very large bathroom with a huge soaking, which was more like a full sized Jacuzzi. The toiletries were nice and reflected the region (olive oil based products), and they were very generous with both towels and extras (the toiletry basked included a full dental kit with toothbrush, a loofa, pumice stone, and so on).

Breakfasts, which are included, at the Maide restaurant on the grounds of the property, was also very nice. There was a rather large selection of cold meats, cheeses, and fruit, as well as hot dishes including boiled eggs, and the ability for guests to order eggs or omelets a la minute.

There is a very nice pool, an exercise room, a sauna and a hammam free for guest use.

The only minor issue is that since the hotel is so secluded (it’s at the end of a private road on a bluff overlooking the town) it takes a little bit of effort to eat off property, especially if you decide to walk. It’s about a 30-45 minute walk from the hotel lobby to the closest cluster of decent restaurants.

Also, I’d recommend being strategic about walking around the property as its very hilly and not knowing where you’re going can be a taxing (physically speaking) proposition.

Otherwise, I would definitely recommend and stay at the Kayakapi premium caves again.

A great and unforgettable hospitality and home away from home. The beautifully decorated rooms, Restaurant, spar and pool bar and other facilities are world class. Internet services are free for guests and in every location within and outside the Kayakapi. The staff are highly disciplined meatly dressed and up and doing. The meals are delicious with appealing aroma. The location too is lovely and rates cannot be faulted. It simply second to none in the European neighborhood. Its so lovely.

Beautiful, luxurious, memorable experience

Perched on a hill with excellent views of Urgup below, the property is stunning. The rooms are luxurious and wonderfully heated (floor-heating, which makes it extra fun to walk around barefoot). Our room had a big luxurious with a small private hamam.

The staff is wonderful. We spent all 3 days in the property itself. That's 3 meals per day in the restaurant. The staff was super friendly, helpful and always made us feel welcome. So was the staff at the spa. The sauna has beautiful views of the valley below.

We loved our stay here and would be more than happy to come back again.
