How to Get There
I've travelled extensively throughout my life and although I have always wanted to write reviews of places I've stayed in due to time constraints its not always possible. However, I wanted to take my time out to write out about this incredible hotel. And I have stayed in some great places. I visited the hotel last week for a few days and I genuinely cannot express how excellent our stay was. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the hospitality of this place is world class. I want to personally thank every individual at this hotel for their help and kindness. Special mention to Ivan and Iva who were both very accommodating and went out of their way to make our stay special. The setting of the hotel is stunning, overlooking the marina its beautiful during the day as it is during the evening. The breakfast was fantastic, hot food made especially for you. In the evenings they have a beautiful Library bar for cocktails. The pool area is also amazing, again a special mention to all those working outside for their excellent service. This was truly a 5 star experience. I don't like to repeat the same places, but I will be back for sure and can't wait for that. Aside from the hotel, the settings around the hotel are also amazing. This is a hidden gem and I can't speak highly of this hotel which is worth every penny. Thanks again Regent!

We loved the Regent hotel Porto Montenegro. It’s located right on the docks and easy walking to the shops and restaurants of Porto Montenegro and to Tivat. The rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed. We loved the special touches like gifts each turn down. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The facilities, the pools both indoor and outdoor, the gym, the thermal rooms were great. I used several of the services like massage ( ask for Ericka) the facial ( ask for Dragonia) and nails and each service was excellent. The concie4ges, Flip, And Dragon were super helpful before and during our stay. Loved this hotel and experience. We are experienced travelers and can highly recommend Regents.
In May 2018 me and my partner spent 3 nights in this wonderful hotel in Tivat, from all our hotel stays, we count our stay in the Regent Porto Montenegro among the best. We drove down to Porto Montenegro from Dubrovnik airport in Croatia. Depending on the queues at the border crossing between Croatia and Montenegro, Tivat is a 45 minute to one hour drive from Dubrovnik airport. Upon our arrival at the Regent hotel, we were greeted by the concierge, who kindly parked our car in the basement car park (free for hotel guests). Check-in was smooth and quick and we were assigned a room in the Venetia wing of the building (on the side towards the Aqua wing). Our room was spacious and very comfortable. Although we did not have direct marina/ bay views, from our balcony we could see the marina. The bed was comfy and allowed us a good night sleep, the bathroom was very large and luxurious.
The hotel has a large outdoor as well as indoor pool and a large outdoor pool at the yacht club (which we did not use). There is also a very nicely built wellness area including hammam, steam room, sauna and experience shower, which could all be used free of charge by hotel guests.
Breakfast at the Regent was delicious. We enjoyed our breakfast on the terrace, overlooking the marina. There is a buffet with quite a bit of choice as well as the possibility to have a la carte dishes served. Staff was very attentive and friendly.
The hotel is located in the Porto Montenegro village area, which forms part of the town of Tivat. Porto Montenegro is a chic area with a large marine for super yachts, the Regent hotel, luxury apartments, several restaurants, bars and boutiques. When leaving the Porto Montenegro village, one enters the main village of Tivat, which also has quite a number of eateries on offer (with good food for a very decent price). Tivat is well located for daytrips around Montenegro, not least the magnificent Kotor bay.
I can highly recommend this hotel as the location facilities as well as all staff members we came across during our stay are superb, not least Dijana of the front desk.
Probably the most spectacular setting you can imagine. Glistening waters out the front and green mountains behind you, this 5star hotel deserves all the praise it gets. We were there for 5 nights on a package. A two storey apartment style room and balcony was everything you could wish for. Room was serviced twice daily, the staff couldn't do enough for you, car was parked and brought up as you wish, the list goes on. Could have had more power/usb points and the gym could have been bigger but that's really trying to find some issues... Pools fantastic, especially the indoor one, spas, saunas, steam rooms world class. Breakfast top rate in an unbelievable setting. Piano bar great. Decor superb. If you are thinking of staying here, don't think twice. Worth every cent, we will be back!
My wife and I have been fortunate to have travelled extensively and stayed in some fabulous five star hotels around the world.
The Regent Porto Montenegro deserves to be considered in the top echelon of hotels.
It’s a relatively new building, in a newly built port and marina.
All the facilities are excellent.
The rooms are large and well equipped.
The dining room, and bar, both offer tables and seating beside and out.
The spa is worth a visit, and not too expensive.
There is an inside pool area off the spa, with sauna, steam room etc.
On the first floor is a small outdoor pool with limited seating.
There is a large pool area to the side of the hotel, but unfortunately it was not open during our visit as it was not considered to be the holiday season. This was disappointing.
All the staff are very attentive and professional.
It’s also good to see the hotel manager around and talking to guests.
We booked a Junior Suite in the Aqua wing. The room was very good and well equipped. However from the balcony we had a side view of the marina and boats, the “closed pool area”, and building work on two apartment blocks being built on two sides of the pool. Not the best view.
In the morning we were woken by the dawn chorus of builders!
The hotel changed our room with no fuss, to a central room in the original wing, with the room having a separate lounge.
If you plan to stay in Porto Montenegro at the Regent, then two considerations:
1. Check your booking is in season for the large pool area
2. Check your room does not overlook the building work which is expected to last until mid 2019
However overall a great hotel and would recommend.
