How to Get There
I normally would not write a one star review but in this case, the management need to know. My partner and I stayed here for one night. As it was our last night of our holiday in Italy, we thought we would splash out a little and treat ourselves. We had to leave by 7am to ensure we got to Naples airport in time.
When we woke to at 6am to get showered, washed etc the water was far too hot to use. We got in touch with the guy on the desk and got a bottle of water so we could at least brush out teeth. There were no other options to wash/shower so had to leave the hotel without washing. Not impressed at all and no one to speak to at that time in the morning.
I got in touch with the hotel via email after a few attempts and it just went backwards and forwards a few times with them not answering it. Eventually they came back and said there was a problem and said they would give us a free nights stay. This does not help us as we live in England and it would cost £300-£400 just to get there. I have asked for a refund (3 times) and they now have just completely ignored me.
I do not expect this from a hotel that I thought was high quality. You should not treat customers like this. I have paid for a room and should be able to wash as part of our stay. You have not provided the full service but you are more than happy to take my money and then ignore me!!!
We stayed here for 4 nights after a weekend in Rome. It's about a 2/2.5 hour drive from Rome. However the trip here is definitely worth it. The resort is a truly beautiful, relaxing place with restored but modern buildings, set in 60 acres of woods and olive trees. The swimming pool and terrace areas are very well maintained and there are plenty of loungers and spaces to relax.
We stayed in a superior room and to be honest we felt it was a little short of the special touches you might expect in a place like this. It was quite simply furnished but the bed itself was very comfortable. There were a couple of minor annoyances though. There were only four hangers in the wardrobe between 2 of us. It was not obvious that any complimentary water was provided although we realised eventually it was. The shower was poor and it was difficult to get in a position where it kept working. It did not grip its stand without sinking.
On the plus side the restaurant is exceptional! We have been fortunate enough to eat in a few Michelin starred restaurants but this one is as good as any of them. Francesca the restaurant manager is absolutely awesome and a fountain of knowledge about the local food and wine. Her wine matching ability for the dinner menu was outstanding. The service all round is perfect. Thoroughly recommended!!! The breakfasts were good as well we thought.
Overall a great experience and I'm sure we will come back.
What an absolute gem this place is. We were staying in what was the lowest grade of room and it was still absolutely super. The food in the restaurant was fantastic and everyone who worked there was friendly, smiley and helpful. Many thanks to Francesca for organising the vineyard tour as well which was a highlight.
Like others we also hired a car and drove from Naples airport and found it a breeze. Yes you will encounter pot holes on the highways but just take your time and go around them! We would definitely recommend having a car as it makes reaching the surrounding towns very easy as Aquapetra is in the middle of nowhere a little and Telese (the closest town) doesn't have much going on. Benevento and Caserta in the surrounding area are both worth visiting.
We came to stay at this place for one night. The hotel setting is very relaxing and beautiful. The room is comfortable and clean but the bathroom is a bit small. The breakfast buffet has a huge selection. The only thing that I would suggest for improvement is to have a better orientation for the property since the hotel area is huge. The lady who checked us in didn’t really give us much instruction and so my husband didn’t know where the fitness room. And they didn’t bother to return our passports that they took to make copies till next morning we had to chase them down to get our passports back. Overall it’s still a good experience so I would recommend this place.
Telese is not a great town and a bit of a slog from Naples airport but once you find the difficult turning, you drive up to a beautiful stone built resort made up of various separate buildings, it is stunning, better than we expected from seeing it on First Dates Hotel.
Staff are very attentive and helpful.
Food in the restaurant and bar is top class but you do pay for that privilege.
Spa is nice, good treatments and very relaxing atmosphere, we had a great 3 days.
The only negatives for us was our very nice suite was a little worn and for the price could have a few finishing touches like split shower hose and curtain fitting fell out of wall when closing curtain two very minor things but at €250+ per night should be first class.
As I said food is very good but I would not want to eat there more than 3 days as would get bored of the choices?
Would definitely return!
