Very average. Ibis quality, QT price.

We love the QT group and have stayed with them often but this is not up to it’s usual standard - definitely not like the other QT hotels.

Cons:

Overall it majorly needs some attention, refurbishment and better cleanliness.

On arrival there is no service. No one to greet you or help with bags, book a taxi or general help. You then ring a bell for someone to come out to reception. Check in was easy but no friendliness or going the extra mile (I.e recommendations in area, directions to shuttles, information about where the cafe is)

It was a really odd vibe like no one worked there (or stayed there. Hotel was empty!)

The room was very average, unlike other QT hotels. It’s rundown, poorly furnished and dated. It had a few random ‘quirky’ ornaments chucked in there without much thought.

Very dirty - covered in dust, wallpaper was dirty and ripped, curtains so gross with stains, lots of general wear and tear.

Random bin on toilet. Two shampoos and a body wash, no conditioner. Missing all of the detail and attention a five star hotel should have.

TV has express checkout but you can’t use it?

Pros:

Great location
Ocean view from room is beautiful

THE BEST SERVICE IN BAZAAR RESTAURANT

Absolutely happy with this hotel. I was here with my partner celebrating his birthday, we were greeted by a wonderful manager named Beau who thankfully assigned us a lovely waiter that served us for the night named Kauri. We also made conversation with a lovely waitress named Gina who is absolutely brilliant at not only making us feel welcomed but who also told the awesome waiter Kauri that it was my husband’s bday.. kauri came over with a lovely dessert with a lit candle and proceeded to sing happy bday to my partner, he absolutely made our night with his charm, the smile he had during service, never left his face. Very charming young guy, 20 out of 10 for his service, his unique sense of humour and the laughter he had will definitely bring us back here. Beautiful hotel, but it was definitely Kauri who has made the stay very memorable for us so a big Thankyou to Kauri and when we come back, it will be definitely in the hopes that the handsome Kauri and the lovely Gina teamed with the great manager Beau, that greet and serve us again ???????? Highly recommend staying here if you love service that is beyond any hotel we have stayed at so far.

Stayed on a 2 night package which included breakfast and one dinner. We thought it was excellent value and would stay here again. Check In was swift, we were upgraded to a suite as our room wasn’t ready so we were very lucky. Suite was excellent, lifts arrived quickly each time, staff were friendly and efficient. Had a few drinks at Stingray Bar and we were very happy with that. Bazaar restaurant was probably the best buffet we had been to ever. Breakfast and dinner were both great and excellent vegetarian options too. Short walk to The hub of Surfers and the tram is outside the hotel if required. We absolutely loved our stay here. If you have a Landcruiser you won’t fit underneath in the carpark (which would be a nuisance in the heat of summer) but you can park in the visitors carpark in the driveway of the hotel. The only suggestion I have would be to always have more than one person working outside on the valet desk as there was quite often a wait to get our keys as the desk was unattended.
