How to Get There
Good enough hotel with decent service and offers. I was puzzled though that I was there twice within a week and both times there were issues with the accuracy of my bills. Once they allegedly forgot to charge me something, so they billed it all on my second stay without any warning. Then I got a call some time after I left the hotel for the second time to inform me that they would charge me for something they forgot to add to their system in time.
The GM later sent me pre-written an e-mail with dreadful spelling and that did not actually address my original complaints.
Stayed for 4 nights in a junior suite with 8 year old in tow. Really lovely room, spacious and modern, but still traditional feel. Small problem with lighting was soon rectified. Felt like everyone in the hotel made an effort to introduce themselves and check we were happy. Really nice service without being obsequious or intrusive. Expensive but worth it for a one-off splurge.
Wonderful historic vibe. Worth extra for a room overlooking the ocean - street side not so good. Showing its age a little but a lovely hotel. Very service oriented and breakfast on the balcony was a treat. Amos on reception looked after me when I left at 3.45am for the airport.
Located in the heart of Stonetown. from the moment you enter the Hotel...there is such a relaxing ambience and the architecture is beautiful. Your are greeted by friendly staff with welcome drinks.
We stayed here for 3 nights before heading back to SA. we did not want to leave. Although this hotel is quite pricey for south Africans..if you can splurge..go for it!
Rooms are lovely with a balcony and complimentary amenities.
Breakfast was a treat with your standard American breakfast and some lamb kofta with roti. if you are a lover of indian food you will definitely enjoy what the chef has on offer. breakfast can be taken in the restaurant or outside on the terrace which have a lovely view of all the passing boats.
one of the nights we ordered Room service. Food was brought promptly and food presentation was good.
a stunning rim full pool surrounded by glass -which when swimming..the views.seem as if you are swimming in the sea. the hotel has direct access to the sea. outdoor shower to rinse off. security around so nobody interferes with guests.
there is tour desk where you can book prison island tour, the concierge is on hand to assist with all request. etc
the hotel is located near souvenir shops and various other hotels ( Double tree Hilton) as well as a short walk from the well known beach house restaurant.
we absolutely enjoyed our time at Park Hyatt and would definitely stay here again.
Lovely rooms with fabulous comfy beds. Mosquito nets are on the bed if you wish to make use of them but i never had the need. The bathrooms are modern with a big bath and an excellent shower which is separate from the shower. Ask for a sea-view room, it is worth it! Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. My only complaint was that the waitering staff at breakfast need to be a little more alert. Other than that, it was truly a great place to stay!
