How to Get There
We really enjoyed our stay at this amazing Swahili style hotel conveniently located in the centre of Stone Town - you can easily walk to shops and restaurants, and the Forodhani night market is right next door. As the beach in Stone Town is not as nice as the island's other beaches, we really enjoyed the infinity pool that overlooks the beach (although this space was quite small and could get quite crowded). The buffet breakfast was excellent with lots of variety.
Recently renovated Zanzibar UNESCO Heritage site converted to a travelers oasis of comfort snd luxery perfectly situatted to experience to exotic allure of Stone Town’s charms and restaurants that make one’s visit and unforgettable memory.
This hotel is beautiful, peaceful with serene views of the water. From morning to evening, the staff were wonderful - completely understandable and helpful at every opportunity. The food was delicious too. Ideal location - walking distance from most things. Thoroughly recommend!
We were a party of six travelers from Canada, who had just enjoyed the best safari experience in Kenya and Tanzania, and we had the privilege of staying at this incredible hotel for 3 nights as a culmination to our trip. Our stay commenced on a somewhat unfortunate note as our booking had been mislaid. Fortunately the hotel was not extremely busy and after staying one night in a room at the street front, we were all upgraded to beautiful beach front rooms for the duration of our stay. I would compliment the staff for their prompt and efficient reaction to this problem.
After this starting hiccup, life got much better as we spent the afternoon swimming in and relaxing by the outdoor pool, overlooking the Indian Ocean. Our room was spectacular: extremely comfortable bed, huge bathroom with tub and shower, bathrobes and slippers provided, lots of water in glass bottles, a flat screen TV in both the bedroom and bathroom, and an incredible view from our balcony. The staff were first class, attentive and helpful: we were escorted to and from restaurants in the evening. The breakfast buffet was excellent-delicious omellettes made to order, lots of fruit and youghurt, and a terrific selection of breads and pastries.
On our departure day, we were permitted to stay in our room until mid afternoon, just prior to leaving for the airport, which was a bonus. Great hotel, and perfect location in Stone Town.
After 11 days in the bush, the Park Hyatt was a real treat, Fantastic view of the water with boats passing. Room was very comfortable with nice linens and furniture. Staff was friendly and helpful. Close walk to everything in Stone Town, close to the ferry. Only drawbacks were smoking near the pool, with only about 10 pool side chairs, anyone smoking dominated the space. Secondly, in the early morning, there's considerable beach noise (locals exercise class at dawn, kids playing). While these 2 things dropped from 5-4 stars in my opinion, I'd still stay here again for all the pluses.
