How to Get There
We stayed at the Ocean Two for five days after our Caribbean cruise and yet again we had a fantastic stay in a fantastic hotel. The reception was smooth and efficient, the staff were very friendly & helpful & the room was superior. The bed was emperor size and very comfortable, the bathroom was very roomy & equipped with twin wash basins, a large shower room, all making our stay very enjoyable. The pool area had probably the best sunbeds we have ever had the pleasure to sunbathe on, the restaurant served very good food and the bar had a great range of drinks. All the staff from the reception area to the pool staff made this stay very very enjoyable & relaxing.
This was my second stay at Ocean 2 for a stay-cation. I love the modern feel of the rooms and the rooftop pool. The staff was friendly and helpful. The ocean view from the room was amazing and so peaceful to fall asleep to. I recommend this hotel to everyone!
I stayed at Ocean Two for 4 nights in an oceanfront junior suite this past week. Easy to read review format below.
- Extremely clean and meticulously maintained property
- Plenty of very comfortable pool loungers available and towels were always refreshed
- Great (and safe) location walking distance to plenty of restaurants and shops
- Lots of bed pillows made sleeping much easier (I'm a bit of a pillow snob)
- Great ocean views and beautiful beach (it's a bit rocky so not for swimming, but great for walks and wave noise)
- Ample infused water (free) available around the property to stay hydrated
- Lighting in the bedroom and bath was very dim
- The bath towels were thin and toiletries very basic
- Breakfast buffet was very standard (~$30usd/person)
- Poor communication by staff: botched a day tour (for which limited apology), no updates on lost luggage (lost by airline but hotel was coordinating with local provider), misinformation about Happy Hour (pool attendant was not familiar with HH menu, which is posted all over the hotel)
- Wrong charges on check-out (was corrected though, but took 2 attempts)
- Was turned away for lunch service because I wasn't in "proper dress" (I was dry and not sandy, in flip flops, an opaque sarong, and swim suit with my hair up in a dressy clip). This was at the POOL SIDE grill where no dress code was published or communicated.
**Reason for 2 star review** Staff was very cold -- really the worst reception I've ever felt traveling. They did their exact jobs, but not one person ever did anything extra or made us feel at all welcomed. We were never greeted by any of the staff around the hotel. No luggage assistance or offer to call a taxi when leaving. Food servers never checked food or refilled drinks, just dropped it on the table and left until the bill was served. The pool attendants never asked for drink orders (and we certainly didn't get any of the perks mentioned in other reviews like popsicles and popcorn). Bartenders poured a drink and left.
Our flight was severely delayed and luggage lost, no fault of the hotel, but they did nothing to make the situation any better: did not offer laundry soap, didn't point us to a local sundry shop, didn't offer any cold towels or drinks, not even an apology or "can I do anything to help?"
I'm a pretty low key traveler, so I didn't entirely mind the lack of attention, but it would have been nice to at least feel like anyone on the hotel staff cared that I was there.
OVERALL: I didn't have a bad time and the property is extremely well maintained, but for the 4-star rating and cost, Ocean Two fell far short of expectations and I was glad to check out. I do not plan to stay again with the other options around the island.
Returned from an 11 night stay on the 21ST May 18, overall a very enjoyable stay, shame about Mother Nature stopping us from entering the Ocean due to strong tides and a daily collection of seaweed !!
The Hotel Staff are very attentive and cannot do enough for you, buffet breakfast was included and was excellent every morning, made to order omelettes were very good.
The Ocean front Apts have a well equipped Kitchen with Cooking facilities, spacious Lounge and a large balcony with amazing views
Couple of negatives were the Internal bedroom in the Ocean Front suite that had no natural light or views of the ocean, also the early closure of the lobby bar, on one occasion 11:15 and one night we returned at 10:45 and is was already closed. I would definitely recommend this hotel for location and service and would return.
We had problems with air conditioning and hot water in several rooms at this property. The staff tried to address these problems but I think it was a problem that couldn't be solved. I want to thank Malinda for her help with our problems. Also, gi ou should know there is a seaweed problem at this hotel and the beach is basically trashed right now. Not sure how long that will last but it has been there several weeks.
