Overview

Condo-style resort in stunning Sooke, offering world-class fishing and outdoor experiences

The Lowdown

For travelers who like to feel autonomous, this condo-style resort community is ideal. Each of the 2, 3 or 4-bedroom vacation homes are simply furnished but packed with upscale comforts, from cozy electric fireplaces to fully-equipped kitchens perfect for cooking up the catch of the day. Thanks to its position right on the oceanfront near the quaint village of Sooke, you’ll be close to all the ocean and wilderness activities for which Vancouver Island is renowned, while just a 35 minute drive from buzzy Victoria. Fishermen (and women) will be in their element here, given the focus on fishing for local species like halibut, salmon, and cod in the rich waters just offshore.

In the Area

Experience the region’s natural beauty at nearby Sooke Potholes Provincial Park, home to a series of rock pools and natural potholes carved into the Sooke River–a hot spot for swimming, picnicking and catch-and-release fishing. Hit the amazing hiking trails close to the resort, from the incredible ocean vistas of Whiffin Spit to the multi-purpose, 55km-long Galloping Goose Trail. Worked up an appetite? Dine at one of Canada’s most renowned restaurants, Sooke Harbour House, where seasonal, organic, and foraged foods from the region are presented like works of art.

Wonderful Family Weekend Away!
Reviewed 2 months ago

We stayed in the 4 bedroom suite with our whole family of 9 people and had plenty of room for each of us. The pool table in the suite and games made for great entertainment. Fireplaces in the living room and master suite made for comfortable coziness. Views of the harbour were amazing and we all enjoyed walks to the lighthouse. Overall it was a very fun and relaxing weekend in a beautiful suite with great value for money. We will definitely recommend friends and look forward to returning!

Wedding

The Sooke Resort and Marina has been perfect for my family to get together, accommodating eight people in one townhouse overlooking the beautiful Sooke Harbour. One of my sons rented two penthouse suites last summer and the deck was perfect for their outdoor wedding. The wedding guests were able to flow inside and outdoors comfortably, to keep the west coast simplicity and out of town guests were well accommodated. The Sooke Resort and Marina has brought our family together without having to rush a visit in one day. We are seeing each other more because of it:) We are looking forward to our fourth family gathering in March!

Wonderful experience- our 3rd stay here!

Location is fantastic, with harbour views, onsite fishing charters and many, many nearby recreational areas (trails, beaches, Sooke hills, potholes- only to mention a few)
Facilities are comfortable, clean and a great value for family or group stay
Bryan, manager at front desk, was very helpful indeed. Attentive to our requests and ensured a wonderful stay.
Onsite rentals for watersports and bikes also available.

A pleasant property, nice water view, furniture some what older but still very clean. For people with handicaps, this isn't the place to go if you have problems with wheelchairs or climbinb stairs. The bathroom is up 10 steps from the main area, but close to the bedroom.

What a lovely environment!! Beautifully located resort, exceptional unit, great amenities! We were able to check in early, which essentially gave us an extra day to enjoy Sooke. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable in their suggestions regarding activities - Colleen even went so far as to contact a quilting guild regarding the time and location of their craft fair that she thought we might be interested in.The dining suggestions were superb, as were the walking trails that were suggested. And - we totally loved the Christmas atmosphere in Sooke - a page from Hallmark Christmas! This was a totally enjoyable experience, and we look forward to visiting again!
