Overview

Condo-style resort in stunning Sooke, offering world-class fishing and outdoor experiences

The Lowdown

For travelers who like to feel autonomous, this condo-style resort community is ideal. Each of the 2, 3 or 4-bedroom vacation homes are simply furnished but packed with upscale comforts, from cozy electric fireplaces to fully-equipped kitchens perfect for cooking up the catch of the day. Thanks to its position right on the oceanfront near the quaint village of Sooke, you’ll be close to all the ocean and wilderness activities for which Vancouver Island is renowned, while just a 35 minute drive from buzzy Victoria. Fishermen (and women) will be in their element here, given the focus on fishing for local species like halibut, salmon, and cod in the rich waters just offshore.

In the Area

Experience the region’s natural beauty at nearby Sooke Potholes Provincial Park, home to a series of rock pools and natural potholes carved into the Sooke River–a hot spot for swimming, picnicking and catch-and-release fishing. Hit the amazing hiking trails close to the resort, from the incredible ocean vistas of Whiffin Spit to the multi-purpose, 55km-long Galloping Goose Trail. Worked up an appetite? Dine at one of Canada’s most renowned restaurants, Sooke Harbour House, where seasonal, organic, and foraged foods from the region are presented like works of art.

Winter magic!

What a lovely environment!! Beautifully located resort, exceptional unit, great amenities! We were able to check in early, which essentially gave us an extra day to enjoy Sooke. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable in their suggestions regarding activities - Colleen even went so far as to contact a quilting guild regarding the time and location of their craft fair that she thought we might be interested in.The dining suggestions were superb, as were the walking trails that were suggested. And - we totally loved the Christmas atmosphere in Sooke - a page from Hallmark Christmas! This was a totally enjoyable experience, and we look forward to visiting again!

Home away from home.

We stayed here for 5 nights while we visited my MIL and we LOVE it here, literally a home away from home. We forgot our packnplay but they had one available which was amazing and offered a high chair which came in handy for sure. I would definitely recommend this resort. Also the views are amazing!!

Great spot and good accomodation

We rented a three bedroom condo. The place is not new and some concerns when we checked in but once inside although carpets were tired it was very clean and well equipped.

Our condo had a integrated garage which made things very easy. All three bathrooms were with baths and shower curtails. It really needed walk in showers. The BBQ would not work, after changing gas bottle and having them try and light it the prognosis was use a match or lighter.

So remember to check BBQ when you arrive and before reception goes home. choose aunit that has a water view, there's only a few ours did by chance no. 119

Fall trip to Sooke

We were a group of 3 friends exploring Sooke on our first visit. We were very pleased we chose Sooke Harbour House and Marina. Spacious, immaculate accommodations, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, gas bbq, 2 patios with an outstanding ocean view. The staff were very friendly and helpful with recommendations for activities and were able to accommodate an early check in and a late check out. If you plan on outdoor activities, West Coast Oudoor Adventure Rentals is on the same property, making it very convenient if you plan an early morning outing. Whale watching is also available at this marina. Our only suggestion would be to have the hot tub open later in the evening. It closed at 8PM. We hope to return for a future visit. Outstanding value.

Didn't quite meet my expectations

We stayed here with family for a quick week vacation on the Island. Pretty scenery and some nice walks nearby but otherwise the town is a little sleepy. The resort itself had beautifully updated bathrooms and comfortable beds but had very tired/used furniture. The supplied cooking pans were also in great need of replacement, loose handles and "stuff" crumbling from them. Could only see the water from our unit from the upstairs hallway. It's about 45 min from Victoria and can have quite a bit of traffic.
