Superfriendly staff, very nice and comfortable accomodation, very convenient for skiing

I just love this hotel, it is a very nice hotel to start with: in terms of rooms, furnishing, location, views, spa, access to the cable car, etc... But what makes it even more special is the staff. The staff is really friendly and helpful, always ready to offer help and advice.
I have been to this hotel for the second time, the first one was in summer, this time was in winter/spring and I consider it just amazing.

Goof location for skiing, but overpriced and too many weaknesses

The Nira Alpina is perfect for skiers, as you only walk a minute or so to the cable car. Nice and modern design and most rooms have a nice view and almost all if them a balcony. Staff was very nice too.

Biggest disappointment is the so-called "Spa". Its like a zoo. No way to relax there.
I understand that ist difficult to setup rules for families with children, but there needs to be some. The pool is tiny and you parents should understand that you cannot play waterfall with the whole family or bring naked babies in the water. Sauna/Steam bath is supposed to be a textile-free zone, but almost all guests wear swimwear (unhygienic) and do not use towels for the sweat. The bad behaviour of the guests is not the hotels fault; but in the 3 hours we've been in the spa, not single time staff checked the area (and tell guests about some rules).

Breakfast could have been nice and the waiter was very friendly, but she was by herself from beginning until 9am serving around 40 guests the same time. Buffet was not filled up, not even one juice was available.

Some issues aren't that big, but when paying more then 500 CHF a night, I would expect better service in many aspects and therefore I would not recommend the Hotel.

Can't beat location for skiing

If you wasn't to ski Corvatsch, the location of this horelcant be beat. Walk right across to the tram up to the top. Plus, the busses to take you into town or other ski resorts pick you up right there. Super easy. We had been staying at the Crystal Hotel in town prior to transferring here for three nights. They picked us up there to transfer us which was very nice. On the day we were leaving, they met us at the train station with our luggage since we had gone into town earlier. Super accomodating- couldn't ask for better service. We signed up for the half board (dinners) because it didn't look like t hete wass anywhere else to have dinner out there but wouldn't do that again. Turns out the restaurant had a full menu we could have chosen from and on Thurs (am guessing for Fri and Sat too) the Italian restaurant on the 1st floor opened for dinner. We didn't know that option even existed as the front desk didn't explain very well. Oh, and there is a nice bakery on the 3rd floor where you can get coffee and pastries for breakfast if you aren't into a big breakfast every day. The spa looked nice although they were fully booked so we didn't get to experience it.

Beautiful hotel to stay in!!

Rooms are a good size and have beautiful views of the mountains.
All the staff were very professional, extremely pleasant, helpful and always greet you with a smile. Has a great Spa for you to relax after a day of skiing, and a rooftop bar with views to the mountains. The ski lift is exactly behind the hotel, you literally ski down straight to the hotel. A well run, quality hotel with a family feel when you stay here.
