The Lowdown

A 16th-century ivy-clad Elizabethan Manor in eight acres of perfect grounds, The Greenway Hotel & Spa – just outside the spa town of Cheltenham in The Cotswolds – couldn’t get any more English if it tried. It promises the ideal country retreat, complete with fresh air, bracing walks, plenty of fantastic food and heavenly spa treatments.
The AA Rosette-awarded Garden Restaurant offers fresh seasonal gourmet dining with a great selection of wine to set off your food. Your room is elegant with all the little extras that make your stay that bit sweeter. The spa, with its huge treatment menu and sparkling facilities is quite frankly a dream.

All rooms have a slick yet traditional feel with elegant furnishings and en-suite bathrooms with luxurious bath products. Sweeping curtains frame a glorious country view.  Master rooms feature barrel-vaulted ceilings, dressing areas and comfy sofas with views across the grounds.
Room amenities:- En-suite bathroom- Luxury toiletries- Tea and coffee-making facilities                        – Flat screen TV with Freeview- Countryside estate views                                      – Hairdryer

Greenway’s gourmet menus regularly change according to the seasons (and which produce is available locally). This keeps the dining fresh and exciting and ensures a commitment to sustainable cooking. At the award-winning, AA Rosette-holding Garden Restaurant you’ll find a gorgeous space with oak panelling and views across the pretty gardens. When the weather’s fine you can dine out on the terrace.

From the moment you walk into this decadent spa you’ll
know you’re in for a treat – the sheer amount of facilities on offer are
bound to impress. There’s a hydrotherapy pool, a state-of-the-art
fitness suite, a studio for classes, a sauna, a steam room and samarium,
experience showers, a kubel dusche (one for the brave – it’s an
elevated bucket of ice cold water which you stand under and pull a cord
to spill on yourself), an al fresco hot tub and even a champagne nail
bar where you can sip fizz while you get a polish and shape. There
are also several stylish treatment rooms where you can choose from a
range of massages, facials and beauty treatments. All treatments use
seriously luxurious products to leave your skin soft and supple.

The Greenway Hotel and Spa sits just outside the historic Regency town of Cheltenham and is surrounded by eight acres of pristine green grounds with the rolling hills and woods of the Cotswolds beyond. If you were hoping to explore this lovely part of the world then this hotel is perfectly placed. Cheltenham itself is unique and interesting, known as the ‘garden town of England’. There’re also lots of pretty country houses with amazing gardens to visit including Chedworth, Hailes Abbey, and Lodge Park. You’re just a short drive from the ancient Roman city of Bath, or if you fancied a day at the races then Cheltenham Race Course is also nearby.

Response to Jan G 3rd of August

I have just read of your disappointing experience on the occasion of your mother's 75th birthday and the reply from Colleen on behalf of the hotel. .I believe it warrants an unsolicited response from another guest,
I can only think there must have been a 'one off glitch' with the hotel computer, Their online booking system should really be infallible.
You researched with specific criteria for both venue and food. This should have quickly identified that, at their prices ,it was certainly not a 3 Mitchelin Starred restaurant.
Also with it being such a special occasion I would have thought a visit, or at least a personal contact the day before, would have been an essential part of your planing, as my family did for both my 75th and 80th birthdays.
This is a beautiful hotel, efficiently run by the General Manger Dean ,who is very hands on.The staff, at all levels are professional, friendly and helpful .
My wife and I have visited the hotel several times and enjoyed every minute of stay, the accommodation and food are exceptional
The hotel does in fact have a 3rd, well deserved red rosette, no doubt helped in no small way by Chef's delicious Chicken Liver Parfait!
You will no doubt still have access to your 'automated confirmation' and if it does show a 'cafe' reservation, maybe you or Trip Advisor could maybe take your revue down as I would do the same with my response?

Very interesting place

Went to this hotel with secret escapes the hotel was an old building with character. We used the pool which was good, room had a slipper bath which had to be used and a shower. The room was massive and very well decorated. Dinner and breakfast were included and both were excellent. The staff were lovely and the surrounds fir this hotel are excellent definitely going back
