How to Get There
A group of 17 very discerning food and wine lovers were here for 6 nights. It was a great experience. We enjoyed a surprisingly high quality dinner in their wood-panelled private dining room with a wonderful crystal chandelier---on a beautifully set grand table, good linens, gorgeous floral arrangements and flawless service. The amuse buche was Michelin star quality (a gorgeous truffle dish). Kudos to this local chef who makes a good attempt at local sourcing.
Reception and bell staff were excellent and couldn't have been more gracious. Bar men (and women) went the extra mile.
Superb quality price ratio....both the hotel and the restaurant!
I just wanted to post a thank you to the team at the Greenway. This was my second visit and although things didn't start off as planned, the team at the hotel pulled out all the stops to ensure that I had a relaxing and restful stay. The setting is idyllic, the spa a welcome respite to relax and although I only had the breakfast each morning it was excellent. What makes this hotel so special is the staff, the welcome from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. Thank you Greenway
The location of this hotel is excellent, beautiful countryside views and yet just a short drive into Cheltenham.
The service offered by staff is second to none, very friendly and attentive without being overbearing.
The restaurant is gorgeous and the food is excellent. The room was a very good size, lovely clean bathroom. All of a very high standard. We didn't visit the spa, but I am confident it would be fist class based on our experience of the rest of the hotel and grounds. Can't wait to go back.
This is a really lovely little hotel in a beautiful setting.
Unfortunately the spa was too busy so we didn’t use it but we were able to sit in the sun and have a drink for a couple of hours.
We had a lovely big room in the main hotel. It was very quiet and peaceful. Just what we needed. The bed was massive.
The room was a little dated in parts but it wasn’t an issue.
The breakfast was delicious. Great portions, plenty of choice and lovely staff.
Only very minor negatives; there was a service charge for the drinks, not sure why and the duty managed seemed like he would rather be anywhere but there.
Overall a great visit for a peaceful weekend.
Stayed here for 2 nights. A lovely building and the location is great. We walked up to Crickley Hill and the views and countryside are beautiful. The staff were on the whole were friendly and helpful. We had booked a room in the lodge which was at the start of the hotel drive and near the road. When I was unhappy about the traffic noise we were given a room in the hotel which was lovely. The main disappointment was the evening meal - I was expecting great things but was underwhelmed by the vegetarian menu- the braised chicory starter was bland and the celeriac steak main was really salty with too much soy sauce, and at 100 pounds for 2 courses with a bottle of wine, we felt a bit ripped off. Maybe better for meat eaters . The spa is small but nice, although the massage I had was fine it was a bit ineffectual = despite asking for firm pressure and receiving an acknowledgement from masseur that I had lots of knots, there was not really any effort made to address this. On the whole I would probably go back to this hotel as the rooms are great, the building is lovely and like the location, but would be wary of having dinner again and probably wouldn’t book another massage.
