How to Get There
The best of the best on Sentosa. A private little retreat, just amazing. My villa had a private plunge pool, just amazing, loved it. Skinny dipping is likely illegal in Singapore as are many things, but nearly worth the risk. So elegant and private, a sanctuary, with a sweet little view of the South China Sea. The restaurant staff were simply amazing, especially warm-hearted Vicky on the drinks, such a fine example of the highest level of distinguishingly exceptional hospitality. The amiable French chef has a hidden treasure load of cheeses.... and Sweet Luvy, is groovy too! Up front there in Nana, who will tend to your every need. And Huq (Huck) is the most courteous buggy driver in town! Overall, not a bad employee to be found. The groundskeepers even give pause and smile.
Two thumbs up, pricey, and worth every penny.
Stayed a night to celebrate wedding anniversary which we received 3 macarons as a gesture of goodwill from the hotel... I have stayed at the hotel approx 5 years ago and it was a fantastic experience then. I have to say that the hotel, at 10 years old is starting to show its age. The lift didn't work on the day I checked out (and had to drag my luggage from the 5th floor down), the stainless panels covering the side of the lift (5th level, near room 520) was falling off.
Other than that, the breakfast at the Knolls was fantastic and the staffs were excellent. Special call out to Kenny who was very attentive and made sure everything was in order. She also surprised us with a nice cake upon hearing our anniversary celebration which was a total surprise.
Overall, it's an excellent hotel. It's very exclusive which was what I liked. I hope the hotel will pay more attention to the details and up keeping given it's a 6 star hotel in my view.
My husband and I had a date night at Capella last night and what a wonderful experience it was. We had a memorable cocktail at Bob’s bar to start, followed by dinner at Cassia. It was exceptional Chinese and possible the best duck pancake either of us have ever eaten. The superb team headed up by Anthony Yap made our night one we won’t forget during our family trip to Singapore. Highly recommended.
