The FIRST time my family and I actually disconnected from the phones and spent some good quality time together.

I´m going to make this short because I have lots and lots of good things to say about this amazing hotel.

Meanwhile, this was the first time in which my family and I got to disconnect from the phones and social media and got to spent some quality time with the family. All of this was because the hotel had amazing and beautiful spots to relax and enjoy with the family.

This hotel has an impecable service which made my family and I feel like at home and I honestly would give this hotel a recognition for its amazing staff and treatment to the guest. Also, there were some astonishing facilities like the wonderful pools or the well equiped gym etc. As well as some delicious and superb restaurants (really recommend Cassia for some good original Chinese food). Meanwhile the location of this hotel is marvellous as we were situated in the island of Sentosa which was full of things to do and it was only 20 minutes away from the city.

Even though you go alone or with a partner you will still enjoy this marvellous hotel in the city of the Lion. Still have lots to say and this will for sure not be my last time in this wonderful hotel, taking into consideration that I have gone to a couple other luxurious hotels in Singapore. (Dont want to say names) And this one being my favourite.

Beautiful property, perfect service

We were lucky to choose Capella for 2 nights on way home from Europe. This is very special accommodation, well located on Santosa Island. The staff are amazing and could not do enough for us.
Everything from check in to departure is with a minimum of fuss. We experienced a rum tasting thanks to Selvarajan and the food in restaurants was outstanding.

Very relaxing

Stayed at Capella after staying at Marina Bay Sands (Orchard Suite). It was just as amazing but much less people around and very relaxing. Facilities are 5 star and staff very friendly and professional.

Above average, but not impressed

The room was good. It was spacious, and had enough real estate for two young kids to roam around in. It was also clean and well-maintained, and was comfortable in general. Nothing much to pick on there.

In terms of facilities and activities, I would say this resort is very much just somewhere to relax in. The spa might have been good, but we did not get to try it as we had two young children, and there was no kids' club to deposit them. Not much else to do within the resort, except maybe for the pool and the fitness centre, which are pretty standard for resorts of this category but unlikely to entertain most people for more than a couple of hours a day.

The resort's location is also a little of a deterrent in terms of exploring the rest of Sentosa, or even the rest of Singapore. Getting around is a little of a hassle, as it is not located near the public transport nodes - no public buses or monorail stations nearby, unlike the Resorts World Sentosa, for example. The closest public transport option on offer was the beach tram station, which was about 15 - 20 minutes' walk from the room, and coming back required quite abit of an uphill walk. If one does not drive and is not keen on relying on taxis, then this place is really simply one for relaxing in.

Service was mixed, and that was what really fell below expectations for us. It is definitely among the more expensive hotels/resorts in Singapore, but the service levels we experienced was below many of the other 5-star properties we have been in. The consistency was not there, as there were some "wow" moments, and other times when we were left wondering if we were really in a luxury resort that we paid a premium for.

The service experience began well, when I received a call a couple of days before check-in, asking if I had any special requests in the room etc. And the baby cot, bath tub, and extra towels that I had requested all were ready in the room at check-in. They also prepared a cake for us when they found out it was my wife's birthday.

However, the check-in and check-out experience were both rather messy. It felt like the resort is not set up for high occupancy levels, as there was confusion in the lobby both when checking in and checking out. They even mixed us up with another guest who had the same first name, and erroneously charged his bills to my card.

It was the same in the library, which passes off as a club lounge of sorts. Quite often, it was all self-service, as the service staff were all busily running around and it was hard to get their attention. It was obvious they were overwhelmed by the number of guests. They even ran out of refreshments, cutlery and coffee mugs etc a couple of times when we were there.

The shuttle buses were no better. We tried to board those a couple of times on different occasions, and both times, they were full, with some guests being told to just stay behind and wait for the next one - which was scheduled about 30 - 45 minutes later. We even overheard a couple complaining that they were only able to board the third bus, and they had spent more than an hour waiting in the lobby by then.

On the whole, the experience was good, and there certainly were "wow" moments for us. However, there were other times when it just did not feel up to the mark - definitely not, considering the price we had paid for the stay.

Will come back soon

The concierge at the font desk provided a positive touch point with seamless and friendly check-in process. They serve drinks and biscuits while we waited for the check in process comfortably at the waiting area. They delivered that personal touch which was a pleasant surprise when they provided us with a complimentary fruit platter, cookies for my kid and pet accessories for my fur kid.

The library was excellent with ambiance in paranakan style and the view from the hotel was magnificent and the overall services was excellent.

The kerb that is erected at the shower area/bathtub should be perhaps clearly demarcated as my wife suffered a cut on her toe after kicking the kerb.

Nice location and close proximity to the beach via the walkway.
