How to Get There
First stop in Sardinia and couldn’t have found a better place to stay. Beautifully situated along the sea, the grounds offer beach beds along the grass or poolside chaises. Have to give a big shoutout to Stefano who truly helped to make our stay outstanding. Great recommendations, organizing boat adventures, and transportation. Overall service from everyone and the attention to detail was outstanding. We also ate at the restaurant at the hotel one night which was all fresh, tasty and friendly. We were so sad to have to leave, but plan on returning!!
We were asked at the reception would we like a arrival drink or go to the room? You don’t ask such things present it to creat a wow factor!
No warm friendly welcome, right from start we got off on the wrong foot
Management puts in a lot of effort into taking pictures and making the venue look pretty. Staff were lovely but seemed like they doing what they told to do, let them express their flair.
First day on arrival was walked to the wrong room wheeling three bags ourself than turned around to be taken on the other side of the hotel.
I called and questioned is this a superior room?
I asked if there was a better room? NO I will put you down on a waiting list and will let you know in few days if one becomes available, which didn’t happen.
We were on the point of walking out it was late evening we decided to stay and heck it out four nights, added one star to the rating for the nice force in the shower.
Breakfast is two star if that, travel lodge serves better! Again it’s not people fault it’s in the leadership and strategy give less and what people want, at the end of breakfast service surely they can see what’s not been picked by guests, lots of yoghurt pots first day than they went down to four pots
I did ask for bacon sandwich and cheese, ham sandwich which they made it for me and fried eggs one day thank you but had to ask!
I asked for dinner menu which was in Italian, asked for English version answer was NO from an non English person who seemed like a restaurant Boss.
Generally hotel is clean there are no near by shops or restaurant it’s Santa Teresa about 15mins Drive for shops and restaurants.
On the last day we asked if we can check out later they did give us another room for one and half hour which seemed like a standard room, which was much nicer that our so called superior room, which earned another star on the review.
Generally don’t see guests walking around smiling and happy!
Pool attendant was one who knew the needs of the guests and was very professional top marks for him
Guess where we started with one star on day one, over the four nights ratings grew to three star
It was a lost opportunity for a potential wedding venue next year !!
Will certainly come back to Sardinia, wouldn’t recommend this hotel or return here though it was was a nice place.
We had a pleasant stay at Hotel Coluccia - the pool, gardens and sea views are wonderful. We enjoyed relaxing on the many sun beds in the gardens, taking in the stunning and peaceful surroundings. You can also hire a boat down at the beach, and go visit close by islands - we had a great day, it was one of the highlights of our trip.
There were at times a lot of work going on in the gardens - it appeared as though the hotel is looking to build an outside bar and potentially a dining area. Good additions, but at times it did disturb the tranquility and breakfast service outside.
Hotel rooms were lovely, comfortable, clean and modern. Thanks to the ladies who were so friendly and kept are room clean and regularly supplied us with fresh towels. In terms of room facilities, we would recommend hooks to hang the towels.
The breakfast service was good, and the food was delicious. There wasn’t a toaster though, which I think would have been nice. Reception staff were good, but we think it would have been handy to have been given a booklet with hotel information such as check out time and spa facilities etc.
Overall, a lovely hotel with beautiful scenery and grounds. The hotel has great potential - but at the moment it seems there are a few teething problems. I understand the hotel has new management and it is the beginning of high season, so I have no doubt those snags will be dealt with soon!
Thanks for a lovely stay. We would definitely recommend to friends and family!
