A lavish room in a gorgeous Art Nouveau hotel, just minutes from the beach, on Italy’s Riviera dei Fiori

The Lowdown

Hotel de Paris Sanremo embraces the classical elegance of its namesake, bringing Belle Époque splendor to its seafront location in Sanremo – Italy’s self-styled Monte Carlo on the Liguria coast. Housed in a grand Art Nouveau building, the hotel features an impressive lobby, with polished marble floors and large glass vases displaying fine floral arrangements – a tribute to the City of Flowers (as Sanremo is also known).
Your room is just as impressive; each elegantly designed retreat is inspired by one of the many famous artists who’ve flocked to this beautiful region over the years. After spending the day on one of the sandy beaches – or a night in Sanremo’s famous Art Nouveau casino – you’ll love kicking back in the plush, regal bed. A panoramic elevator leads up to the top floor, where you’ll find splendid sea views and a gourmet restaurant, serving beautifully presented Italian and French cuisine.

Oozing with old-world elegance, Deluxe rooms are individually decorated in calming hues of ochre, pink, blue or green. Each room pays tribute to a well-known artist that spent time in the region, with hand-picked paintings and ornate furniture.

Breakfast is served each morning in the basement brasserie, while the dining room, on the top floor, is open for lunch and dinner and boasts lovely sea views. The restaurant offers a wonderful menu of traditional Italian and French cuisine, with a carefully selected wine list.

The small underground spa area offers a Jacuzzi, an emotional shower, a steam room and a sauna. You can also squeeze in a few workouts at the well-equipped gym.

Hotel de Paris Sanremo is located just steps from the sea, overlooking the palm-lined Corso Imperatrice and the sparkling blue water beyond. Around the hotel, you’ll find the impressive Art Nouveau casino and the vast Portosole Marina. Also recommended is the Sanctuary of the Cetaceans, with the highest concentration of whales and dolphins in the Mediterranean, and, for the golfers, nearby Degli Ulivi, one of Europe’s most popular golf courses. To really get the most out of this gorgeous location, though, simply walk among the flower-strewn hills behind the hotel or cycle along the dedicated bike path along the coast.

Fabulous Hotel

My wife and I have been extremely fortunate to have stayed in some very special Hotels over the years. The Hotel de Paris in Sanremo Italy would have to be one of best for us.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable.
The breakfast was undoubtedly the best we have encountered.
One morning we were pleasantly surprised to have a harp play while we ate.
All the staff are to be complimented on their ability to make us feel like royalty

Excellent hotel

The hotel is very well placed, 1 minute walking to the seaside and to Cso Matteotti where you can have the best shops available. It is a quiet place, very well kept & clean, the people working here are very kind, at your complete disposal. Rooms are very well furnished, big & very quiet, the room service perfect. Really a 5 star location,
I only would have liked to have the opportunity to bring my small dog, a maltese lady to the restaurant room, I assume it is the only thing they could "manage" in order to offer all the best to customers. I will for sure come back. The valet parking is a bit expensive but a good solution since Sanremo is a difficult place to park a car for 7 days.

A total gem of a spa/hotel

We've just spent the most amazing weekend in Sanremo. Nadia, one of the super-friendly receptionists, helped us with the booking (we have made a booking through 3rd party site, which was a mistake, but managed to cancel), because they have amazing package deals on the hotel's website when booking directly. Including late checkout and free spa session not to list all. So only book directly! With this move we have added €300 extra value to our booking, all thanks to Nadia. The room was amazing, overlooking the sea, the breakfast buffet is the best we have ever had in a hotel, this morning accompanied by live harp music. The two spas downstairs (we had to try both) when booked are solely for private use, meaning it was only us the whole time, we could enjoy all the facilities in privacy and at our leisure. The complementary fresh fruit, tisanes ans pastries are just a 5* touch. The only downsides are: the hotel is on the city's main road, noise-insulation is great, but it's better to be aware of this. Second: our double bed (which were two single beds joined) weren't fixed together, so constantly slid apart and were noisy. But that id really it. This place could be easily 5* based on the level hospitality, class and service.
