Beware of the bedbugs!
Reviewed 2 days ago

My wife and I were on a tour of Costa Rica and stayed at the Radisson San Jose the first and last nights of the tour. We had no issues with the first night, other than the eggs on the breakfast buffet were cold. However, we had several issues with the last night. First, we heard water running and finally determined that the toilet float was not shutting the water off so the water was constantly running. Second, when we tried to shower in the morning the hottest the water would get was barely tepid. Thirdly, and most disturbing, was that when we undressed to shower we discovered that we both had been bitten by, I assume, bedbugs at numerous places over both of our bodies. I brought all of these issues to the attention of the front desk and the gentleman I spoke with did not seem concerned by any of them. He did say that, if we were staying an additional night, they would allow us to move rooms.

Very nice property.

The property is beautiful and well maintained. It took a long time to check-in. I was really tired, so I'm sure that it seemed longer than real time. Free daily breakfast was great. The service was usually slow, but everybody was very friendly. The outside pool was closed for maintenance, the entire time. This was disappointing. I wish we would have been advised of this, prior to booking. The room service was slow but very tasty. The Happy Hour was great, in the beginning. By the 5th day, entire families were showing up with playing cards. The food was all gone before the Happy Hour was over. The concierge and doormen were the best.Just as helpful as they could possibly be. Our mini bar was not stocked on a daily basis (because sometimes we were in the room and did not want to be disturbed). However, we were charged $90 for mini bar items on our last night there. The mini bar had not been stocked the day before. Fortunately, my traveling companion speaks Spanish and was able to straighten this out. If it was just me, I probably would have been taken for $90 in mini bar items that I did not consume. I'm bummed by the prospect.

Black Mold, not helpful staff
Reviewed 5 days ago

Rooms had black mold on the ceiling (especially in bathrooms) and carpet in a country where most houses don't because of the moisture issue. Smelled musty. Phones in both my room and my friends room didn't work. As a result, I had to walk a long way to the front desk while ill (that part wasn't the hotel's fault) to ask for a bottle of water that they normally leave in the room, only to be told no. They had sleep number beds but the control remotes in my room were either missing or not functioning, so you better be happy with whatever random setting it was on.

Breakfast was fine and the gym was a real gold's gym and not a normal fitness center at a hotel, which was nice. The dinner restaurant was also tasty...but that doesn't balance out the cost of unhealthy rooms

Very friendly personal. But the Hotel is a little bit old fashioned. Very good ist the place near the city of san jose. and absolutly great is the small park around the pool. Price is also okay. All in all: good.
