How to Get There
As a corporate meeting planner, we're always looking for something unique for our attendees. This property has it, and at a great value. The service was wonderful, planning team top-notch, unique venues throughout the building and the food is delicious. Try the Bottleneck Blues Bar for a change of pace outside of the traditional ballroom. The promenade is now smoke-free, and the property has plans to construct a separate entrace into the conference center. Recent additions of green initiatives and recycling are a plus.
The room layout was great, double-tiered with two TVs, one for each section.
Easy access to the interstate and nearby shopping.
The good restaurants... The Diner always had beautifully prepared/delicious meals and the waitresses were great. Kim treated me like family and always had a great smile waiting for me. Asia restaurant was also a standout, delicious oriental plates prepared well. Marlena (Marlene?...) was a great server and always treated me to a great conversation. The buffet was average but their deserts were amazing.
The bad restaurant... Amerisports, although servers were great and had a great atmosphere, the food was terrible. I had four meals there and three were disasters.
Casino was a little smoky but plenty of slots and table games during the weekend.
Housekeeping was hit or miss, some days the room didnt get cleaned at all. The room was vacuumed only twice the two+ weeks I was there.
Where to start...Upon Arrival there were 30+ of my colleagues checking into the resort, and 1 person checking guests into the resort. Needless to say, that took a while.
My A/C quit working at midnight on night 1, I called the front desk and they never sent anyone to repair the unit. After sweating profusely for the next 5 1/2 hours, I awoke to a large spider bite on my inner bicep.
I called the front desk again before leaving for my conference and let them know about both issues. When I returned to my room after dinner that evening my A/C was still not working and I called for the 3rd time. They finally sent someone to look at the A/C. Then I told the front desk about the spider bite and their reply was, "so, what do you want me to do about it?" I asked to speak with the manager, and the let me leave a voicemail, which still has not been returned.
I had a non smoking room, but it smelled like a old wet ashtray, although it was a marked improvement over many of my colleagues experiences.
All of the rooms have a step down between the living room - bedroom with 2 built in lights that cannot be turned off.
Their curtains did not reach the floor so light started coming in my room on this East-facing casino around 5:15am.
My husband and I decided to take a last minute getaway for my birthday. Check-in was a 15-20 minute wait in a long line, then another 20 minute wait to actually get our room. We dropped our bags in then left to shop and have a late dinner. When I got in bed something felt gritty like sand, I turned on the bedside table lamp and found the bed and table covered with some kind of crumbs, I jumped out of bed and pulled the pillow back and there was a chunk of cracker under it ! I was so disgusted I couldn’t sleep and turned on lights all around the room to discover used water glasses with water still in them from previous guests, bathroom lights burnt out, grimy fingerprints all over anything glass etc.. we checked out as early as possible leaving our comment card with a clerk at the front desk . She said she would definitely let management know but we’ve never heard anything.
For the price you pay for the rooms the bed could have been better, the bed was very loud and squeaky but the view of the room was beautiful the room it self was vey nice and roomy if I had to stay again I would do things better could have ask for another room but it was late at night when I return to my room.
