How to Get There
We recently returned after two weeks in the Luxury Bahia Principe in October 2020
Our visit was nice and relaxing The hotel is huge and has many steps, Good to keep the weight off, after eating all those calories
We enjoyed the Jerk chicken and the Curry dishes served at the buffet, and various restaurants for lunch
The shows were good, especially the Steel Band night, Fire eating at the beach party night was also a good one. The island music band at the Grand section is worth seeing. Plays nice and good island music
Our room was looking over to the"West" in the Luxury section, where the sunsets are outstanding.
The pool at the Luxury section was very active during the day with lots of drinking and various games. Fun to watch.
We visited all of the A la carte restaurants. We found the service and the food was outstanding in the Italian restaurant (Dolchivita). Our server was Kavaun. Nice person. Try the combination appetizer. Good for two having a bit of everything.
The drink selection was good with many premium drink choices to get at various bars, in the Luxury area.
The staff which we got to know the best and enjoyed seeing and chatting with them were "Remond at the beach bar, Latoya, Fernando, Maurine. In the reception Kyle. The butler service was great and those who were really good and helped us, were Simone, Titan her assistant. Simone, you made a big difference to our holiday and we enjoyed your dedication and the artwork on our bed.
We spent quite a bit of our time on the Grand beach which was nice and had more shade. The guy that offered lobster in the water, everyone who tried his dishes thought it was excellent and well priced. ($25.00 US). Good experience
To get from one section of the hotel to the other, there is a trolley bus about every 15 minutes to pick you up at various points.
There were many lounges to get and they have a good policy, where early risers cannot secure with towels and leave until close to 9 am.
The staff that greets you at the entrance for breakfast and lunch to place you at the table, need to be provided some more training and those serving water and coffee the same. This is the only reason I am giving it a 4 Star. Too laid back and the wait can be overextended if you get the wrong waiter.
Other than that, it is a nice place to go to.
We are repeat guests having visited the chain over 19 times in the last 10 years.
The corrections to make it a 5 star in our opinion, is easy to accomplish. Management I suspect will be making these corrections, if not already done.
Looking forward to visiting the chain in November 2020 with a group of repeat guests. Place and time to be determined.

Firstly, I visit Jamaica quite often. I was excited to get to my second home. Upon arrival, check-in was great to be objective.
However, the rooms were moldy my room was 24101 on the corner facing the main pool.
My wife and I had to constantly have the staff bring lavender oil, to calm the stench. In addition, the Marksman staff stationed outside of my room were very raucous, thus we could not get good rest.
Further, they were extremely rude and did not hesitate to let you know "they are not part of the hotel staff".
Nevertheless, we were part of a group of 25 people vacationing for 3 days. The hotel needs to alter the carpet in the hallways. It is my opinion that is where the mold is originating. Moreover, hotel staff is hit or miss. Maureen the bar waitress stood out as she was very pleasant to deal with. It was apparent most of the hotel staff were happy to have their jobs.
In particular, the young man who waited on us in the Jasmine Restaurant. The individual was quite disgruntled to say the least. He would walk away mid conversation throwing utensils and dishes. I wish I was making this up, but it is true. Our experience in the Asian restaurant quite the same. The server appeared to be discombobulated and told my wife and sister in law to " share the appetizers". Just because she kept forgetting the orders. She rolled her eyes repeatedly at me for asking simple questions. Mainly, because she failed to write them down.
In addition, the pool DJ's are very disrespectful toward married people, and especially to women.
One of them disrespected me and wife of 17 years.
Although the hotel property views weee beautiful and the beach gorgeous.
I am sorry I registered for the myBahia. This experience was atrocious, and I am very sorry I spent the money to stay here.
Every experience from no washcloths in the room, breathing mold, no mini bar restocking.
Sigh, Once again we breathe in the mold for 3 days. The Jasmine Restaurant the air conditioning went out on Sunday, and it was about 90 degrees. I am thinking this is where the virus started my wife had caught a bug and we had to go to urgent care upon our arrival to the states. The food temps and the bacteria of so many patrons most have contributed to the outbreak.
In conclusion, the bartenders by the pool are the reason we're the only upside. Whoever is in charge of this place can feel free to contact me. This is situation warrants a response from your too brass. Maybe you are unaware of what is happening in your resort. My membership number ends in 3372. You can access my contact information. Sorry, this was worst experience ever!!!
List of the positives:
Beautiful compound, great view from your room,
Lots of activities throughout the day,
Friendly and helpful staff,
Great verity of food choices (local and international),
Rooms were clean and with updated fixtures
List of shortcomings:
Kids were sometimes seen on the adults-only side,
I did not like the beaches the were small and mostly filled with seaweed.
