How to Get There
We had visited Council Bluff casinos the night before and there are differences. Argosy has plenty of slots and tables but just seemed cramped compared to other casinos. The aisles are narrow and small. There were plenty of eateries and the food was good. Complimentary soda was nice. Just did not feel that the slots were as loose as the Council Bluffs. One issue that plagues all of these mid west casinos is the horrible cigarette smoke. They just can't seem to filter it like Vegas nor do they have non smoking like most East Coast casinos
We stayed 2 nights at the hotel. We had reserved a king room, when we got there we were told only double queen was available, but charged the same price. We got a package so included valet parking. Went down the next day to go to the store and they couldn't find our car.
When we checked out, we were told the deposit would be refunded with 48 hours. It was not. When i called i was told up to 7 days. It past that and still not refunded. When i called again, i was transferred to 3 different people, and the last guy attempted to lie about it. When caught in the lie, he said he would have it fixed in 15 minutes. This was several days ago and the problem is still not fixed. I will never stay at this place again.
Argosy you have let me down for the last time. I've been coming here for almost 15 years but ever since the remodel your rooms have been going down hill. No hot water, sheets that have stains and aren't tucked in so you wake up at night on a bare mattress. Small square pillows that have lumps like rocks and for the final straw dried "blood ?" on the footstool ? The rooms of my traveling companions were just as dirty. The super 8 across the street was probably cleaner. $250 plus for the room ? No thanks. plus a 12.00 fee ? just add the 12 to your price and tell everyone they can have 2 bottles of water and a 5 dollar meal credit.
I'm afraid we have to break up. Back to the Weston of Sheraton for me.
