How to Get There
I had booked a weekend away for my husbands 40th birthday on the weekend of Easter.
The place is amazing and its incredible that you can rome around in the desert.
However so many things went wrong on this trip because of lack of training and poor management.
Valet service took ages even though there was only one car infront that needed to be moved.
Its difficult to see where reception is as its not clearly signed. No one yo greet or tell us where to go.
Check in took 1.5hrs!!!!! There was a big queue building up behind us. We paid for hotel online so only needed to check in. However they charged us for the entire trip again and they weren't clear on what type of card to use for the deposit. We wanted to stay another night and were told there was no availability. Asked to speak to the manager- they offered us a free lunch and somehow now there was availability for another nights stay.
We got a buggy to the villa. We paid for the most premium. The lady took us to the wrong villa at first, but when we got to our designated villa there were the previous guests leftover food from room service left right outside the door! We asked for it to be moved.
Our bags were not in the room when we got there- even though we had spent 1.5hrs at check in. We called down to remind them to send them to our villa.
Service at the main farmhouse was diabolical. Such a nice place but no one there to greet and we couldnt see any staff so took a few minutes to get staffs attention. We were there for 2hrs and had only had our starters! The waiters were very polite but so poorly trained.
Breakfast was an absolute nightmare- so many people complaining! They ran out of so many things and nowhere near enough staff as they needed. The team were so rushed off their feet- we didnt see any senior management helping.
We booked to do an archery lesson and use the spa. You have to pretty much get buggies everywhere if you're not near the main hotel. We called reception for a buggy when it didnt arrive to pick us up. Then called again another 20 mins later. Still no buggy. We walked down to reception to see if we could get a buggy from there but by the time we arrived we had missed the session.
At 10.30pm at night we got a phone call from the spa to say our treatments were not possible as the machine was broken. We had decided to get an early night so we were asleep at this point! Thats all they said, they didnt tell us anymore info.
Throughout our experinece we complained to different members of management but no one did anything about it.
We thought we would speak to the general manager again at check out to give our feedback. However there was no manager on duty when we checked out. We checked out around 7.30am. Breakfast wasnt set up for the time advertised so we had to wait around for them to bring food and cutlery out.
The best thing about the resort was the spa- its amazing! If you get a chance: GO!
A number of staff said they were very understaffed and they didnt look happy to be there at all. Completely overworked.
Its such a shame that the running of this business is shoddy as the place is great and the staff really try to do their best. Its unfortunate that they canno't cope at peak times.
I sent the GM and email with my feedback and he explained they had staffing issues but it's funny how none of the senior management team were there to help out or to explain the situation. However they are there to take our money! The 3 nights coat us around 20k aed. They kindly deducted one meal from our bill but for the amount we paid versus the service and experinece we receievd we would never step foot back in there! They should be allowed to charge this much when they have this many issues.
They offered us a free nights stay "when we are much quieter" but this just shows us even more that its not worth the value for money.
Its a shame to write such negative feedback about a place but it was terrible! I hope they have sorted their staff issue and are treating them with the respect they deserve!
We were so excited for our stay at this Ritz Carlton. The room and facilities were beautiful. However, our plunge pool drained its water spontaneously and we spent the majority of our stay answering the door to let the maintenance crew in and out of our bungalow as they attempted to repair the pool we never were able to use. We barely received an apology and ended up leaving the hotel early as we were uninterested in sharing our suite with the intrusive maintenance crew any longer. After this trip, I don’t plan to frequent the Ritz Carlton in the future. This level of service is incredibly disappointing and really put a damper on our trip.
I always use to stay with jumairah but this time I stayed with Ritz Carlton Al wadi uae I got smoothly check Inn room was awesome pool also very good condition but there some service delay by f&b but I remember housekeepers dinsh, ronga and sambu done a great job I told housekeeper sambu to make some decoration for my mom and his team make with towel and rose pattle I love mom on bad when my mom came to room and show she started to crying really thanks to them they made my stay lovely.
The villa was stunning and the privacy was fantastic ... we stayed for one night only and even that seemed much ... we thought the restaurants and shisha place might have a bit of an atmosphere but they were really quiet and We had heard lovely things about the spa but we were told it was all closed for refurb at the time ... food was average. There wasn’t a lot to do at all ... I don’t think I would go back again.
Treated the family to a quick break here to mark the start of the school holidays.
From arrival we were made to feel incredibly welcome. It is clear that the staff are trying their best and want to go out of their way to make you feel welcome. And to be honest I found it a little much at times, with so many staff and they all wanting to know how your stay was, or what you were having for breakfast or how is the room, just a bit too much is all, but always with a smile.
The room, I loved it, just loved it, with your own personal pool, it was great I just found it so incredibly relaxing.
For the restaurants, we had dinner in the Farmhouse which was good, the food was well prepared and really tasty, The farmhouse has a really nice layout and is very relaxing feeling inside, the menu has a great selection of different dishes to try, I enjoyed my evening. Breakfast too was really nice, everything from the restaurant layout to the selection of food all excellent.
We watched the falconry exhibition and visited the horses. I really enjoyed the short break here and look forward to returning again.
