Fantastic Views

Xeliter Vista Mare Samana feels like a boutique hotel. The buildings are no more than 3 stories high and blend into the side of a cliff. The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful. The property has 2 private lovely, quaint beaches which has fine sand and was well maintained. As the hotel is on a cliff, there are stairs down to the beach. Be prepared to be a little winded but it is well worth the workout. There are 2 infinity pools and a jacuzzi with equally great views. This hotel is about 15 minutes outside of the town of Samana. It is off the beaten path and perfect if you do not want the crowds of Punta Cana. Samana is beautiful and rich with palm trees and lush greenery all around. We have been to a bunch of islands in the Caribbean and the Dominican Republic is one of the most beautiful. The restaurant has friendly waiters, however, the food was mediocre at best.
I traveled here with my husband and son. We had a 2 bedroom unit with picturesque views from every room, including both bedrooms. The apartment was not luxurious but the views were well worth it.
We would definitely come back!
Thank you Xeliter Vista Mare for a great vacation.

A magical place with amazing views

We just returned from DR where we stayed for six days in Xeliter Vista Mare. This is a beautiful property with apartments built into a hill overlooking the ocean. I have travelled a lot but I think the view from our balcony was the best I have ever seen! We had a huge balcony overlooking the sea and a private beach with tall palms. The views were breath- taking. The apartment itself was spacious, absolutely clean with a well equipped kitchen.
The staff at the property were very helpful, special thanks to Maria and Jason who arranged some trips for us and gave us a lot of advice.
We did not rent a car but it would have been helpful to have one to visit the beautiful places in Samana.
As the apartments are built into a hill, you may have to climb a short but a steep hill, so perhaps not recommended for people with walking difficulties.
Overall this is a beautiful property with stunning views and very helpful and kind staff.

Whale Watching Heaven!

Fabulous location with great views across Samana Bay where we could enjoy the sights of whales from our balcony! Despite us being unable to speak any Spanish the staff were all very understanding and helpful. The reception staff particularly went out of their way to help with organising trips/taxis/house cleaning etc etc. Although our apartment was equipped with a functional kitchen we had the use of the restaurant and bar if we wished. This served a limited choice of dishes but the local fish and seafood ones were particularly good. The private beach is lovely as is the pool area. Only warning - this hotel is located on the steep side of the peninsula! We used local transport to Las Gelaras and Samana which was very cheap but noy exactly luxurious.
To sum up - we loved it and want to go back!

Excellent hotel. Clean and spacious rooms with a beautiful view of the bay and sunsets are stunning. A fabulous restaurant on the premises. It has an intimate private beach. There are two large swimming pools to cool off.
Would definitely stay there again.

Nice apartment hotel with great views!

We didn't see much other guests when we were there. The location is wonderful on a hill with private beach and great views of the bay. One afternoon we could see the whales from our balcony! Its 15 minute drive from Samana however the road from Samana is very bad!. It is close to Playa Rincon and Las Galeras. There is a restaurant onside which is pricy and the food (Steak) wasn't that great but at least it is an option if you don't want to cook! The apartment was down to hill. Its a steep climb for elderly! The apartment had everything. Wifi, cooking utensils. cable tv etc.
I found that there are not real supermarkets near this property and also we couldn't find them in Samana. If you come down from Santo Domingo you could want to buy your groceries in St. Domingo (Nacional or La Sirena). There are many colmados for your beers, bread, eggs etc.
