A tranquil alternative to Thailand’s bustling beach towns, with just 23 villas surrounded by fishing villages

The Lowdown

The first resort in the X2 (pronounced “Cross-To”) portfolio, Kui Buri is located on the secluded beach of Ao Noi, between the royal retreat of Hua Hin and the beach resort town of Pranburi. But it’s quite different from the busy resorts in either of those locales, with just 23 high-design villas on four acres. Each of the villas has a private outdoor garden or private pool, as well as indoor and outdoor rain showers. An abundance of mature trees and unimpeded views of the Gulf of Thailand connect guests with nature. The Thai (and Western and fusion) fare in the 4K (“fork”) restaurant and Thai massages on offer in the spa connect guests with local culture.

In the Area

This X2 resort is in the Prachuap Khiri Khan region, an underdeveloped coastal area three hours’ drive from Bangkok and just 30 minutes from Hua Hin, where the Thai royal family decamps when they’re in holiday mode. (Hua Hin is also a center of golf courses and resorts.)

Very good service/ Satisfied our stay

Pet-friendly hotel. The service mind and politeness of all staff are very impressive. Food is tasty. Breakfast is plenty with good quality. Hotel is in quiet area and privacy. The dog Park is not well managed and dirty in some area. Hotel’s WiFi is weak and unstable. And the maintenance some functions in bathroom (flushing system and hanging area) need to be improved.
Overall I am happy to stay.

Have just spent two nights relaxing in this tranquil oasis.

The resort is far from anywhere (although it can be reached by train) and is the perfect place to relax.

Staff members have varying levels of English, but go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. They very kindly dropped me at the train station In Prachuap on check-out to make my return to Bangkok easier.

I had the pool to myself both days that I stayed and loved the choice of indoor or outdoor shower.

The food in the restaurant was delicious.

Pro-tip: Book directly through the X2 website for extra perks.

Perfect in every sense

After a leisurely drive that is quicker than flying and driving to any airport for a vacation to Phuket or Samui you arrive at what is truly a slice of heaven. Private and clean beaches and I reiterate clean and private again! This boutique resorts ticks all the boxes that you imagine a Thailand paradise really is. Seriously stay here! Ambience, design and energy is fantastic! Every room is private with a pool! Even though this place is known as ‘the’ boutique resort for dogs we would have never guessed.

Attended my brother’s wedding during 14-15 Nov 2018. Unforgettable!

Went there for 2 nights for my brother’s wedding. The wedding team was so professional and experienced. Rooms are clean, although it allows pet and some strange hairs on bed/pillows/floor put me off a bit. The hotel ground so green and calming. Food is good enough but not great. Beach is way nicer than ones in Huahin/Chaam which makes it worth driving for an extra hour if you come from Bangkok.

An ideal place if you want an beautiful setting with attentive staff and nothing to do except relax, swim, walk and eat.

We had a poolside sea view room which was lovely. The pool is 25 smetres long and spotlessly clean. If we had had a plunge pool as well we probably would not have used it.
The staff are delightful and so polite which seems to be the Thai way. The food in the restaurant is top quality and not overly priced especially when taking the discount into account each day.
The beach is also beautiful although narrow in places with high tide.
