When you’re not in the Mediterranean Sea below this 102-room resort, you’ll be staring at it, whether from your own balcony, the 32,300 square foot sun terrace, or one of the two restaurants offering panoramic views. Le Piscine serves a Mediterranean buffet and grilled specialties, while Zafferano concentrates on local Sardinian cuisine paired with a little something from its wine cellar. Then of course there are the five pools (with kid’s areas and a Jacuzzi), a spa mixing Eastern and Western healing traditions and a kitted out stretch of private sand. Pull up a beach chair and a campari and you’re ready to start vacationing, Italian-style.
In the Area
The compound is just a few kilometers outside the village of Porto Cervo, which is famed for its lovely main square, the Piazzetta, and smack in the middle of the Costa Smeralda – a perfect location for beach-hopping up and down the coast. This is a land that insists its dolce far niente, but if you must do something active, the Pevero Golf Club, tennis courts and the Centro Ippico Shergan polo club are all a few minutes drive away, and hotel staff can arrange excursions for mountain biking, diving, sailing and deep sea fishing.
How to Get There
Upon arrival, our cases were taken to our room and we were offered a welcome drink, met by very professional receptionists. Every communal area was spotless, staff very friendly, pool area in particular had lovely sheltered spots under the trees to escape the midday sun. FOC shuttle to Porto Cervo available at reception during the day. Our room had a sea view and was very comfortable. One point, make sure you take ironed clothes as cost is 10 euros per shirt, no iron/board available due to H&S. Breakfast and Dinner every day offered very good quality food and the waiters were very attentive, although a bottle of Wine with dinner was €45. Overall a well managed 5* Sardinian style hotel, for a relaxing holiday, set in a beautiful location. 30 minutes from the airport. Please note, there is also an additional new daily ‘local tax’ to pay on checkout.
We arrived from London on a BA package of bed and breakfast. The hotel is 25 minutes drive from Olbia airport. Easy drive and very well sign posted. The car was unloaded and taken away, and we went to reception to check in. Whilst the paper work was done, we were offered complimentary drinks in the open bar, which was a very nice touch. We were taken to our room; our luggage already there. Extremely pleased with the size of the room, balcony with great sea view, and spotlessly clean. Good size bathroom, with everything you need. Very good quality toiletries. Our room assistant, Florina , was so very helpful and friendly. The grounds and swimming pools are immaculately kept and extremely beautiful. In the seven days we were there we never saw any litter out of place. The breakfast was amazing. Huge selection of quality food, plenty of fresh fruit and wonderful home made cakes. Excessive charge for fresh orange juice. Superb staff, very well turned out and so gracious. Lovely bar next to the main pool, with good service. We went to the private beach ,which is shared, and it is quite small, however you have free use of sun beds and a lifeguard on site . The main beach is a 10 minute stroll, well worth the walk. It is beautiful, particularly early in the morning. Sun beds have a charge. There is a shuttle, but it was quicker for us to walk.
The reason for the removal of one star was due to a few issues. Firstly, the coffee, tea, milk facilities in the room were never replenished adequately, despite speaking directly with reception and the staff member who was responsible. Secondly, work on the wall of the adjacent room was carried out, however , the debris was left on the floor, in a mess. We had to advise reception of the situation. Finally, the encounter of an extremely rude and unhelpful pool attendant, who suggested rather than getting some towels for us to get them ourselves, when we were half way to the beach ,having left the hotel with no towels, due to the staff not being on site. Just to make it clear it was not any of the younger staff, who were excellent. I speak fluent Italian so it was not a language barrier. We always loved this beautiful island and we had a wonderful time. Surely, we will be back.
A wonderful hotel experience. The staff are incredibly professional and warm, the setting and the facilities are exemplary and the food and drinks are first class. It is a very relaxing setting with a glorious pool and nearby beach.I felt honoured to be a guest at CPH Pevero and would recommend it very highly.
