Perfect Normandy Location
Reviewed 3 days ago

Stunningly beautiful environment- top class all the way. Staff was friendly and professional throughout, location allowed for easy day-trip access to all Normandy points of interest. Food/drinks were delicious but pricey enough to discourage too many meals there (even breakfast is steep and no viable nearby options). For us (two couples) a memorable once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Total, unequivocal luxury

I had the pleasure of spending this weekend at La Chenevière...a stunning hotel set on beautiful grounds with exceptional service and amazing food...we were initially greeted by charming staff who were attentive and friendly throughout our stay. It is obvious that a lot of time has gone into creating an idyllic environment for guests, with great attention to detail throughout the hotel from beautiful art through to luxurious furnishing which is evident throughout the property. If your primary focus is to spend some time chilling out in luxurious surroundings whilst eating Michelin star quality food, then this hotel will not disappoint.

The two restaurants at the hotel were both excellent and offer a wide selection of options which translated to not having to leave the property during our stay! We were particularly impressed with the local produce and that the herbs and vegetables were grown on the property, offering a super selection of organic treats combined with delicious local produce. One of the restaurants is fine dining, but certainly not stuffy - offering exceptional food whilst looking out on immaculate hotel gardens. The other restaurant is by the pool, offering similar culinary treats but within a slightly more laid back environment.

I would not hesitate to recommend La Chenevière to anyone who wants a slice of understated luxury with picture postcard views and attentive friendly staff. A big thank you to all the staff who made our trip so memorable. If there is any negative, it was that the weekend went too quickly!

Wonderful Easter week

My family and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Chateau La Cheneviere over Easter. I've stayed at many luxury hotels both large and small, and this was one of the most delightful hotel stays I've experienced. The hotel itself is beautiful and peaceful - not too fussy or formal but comfortable, charming, and utterly inviting. As many posters have noted, the grounds are spectacular. We had two connecting rooms - a suite and a deluxe room - for our family of four; both rooms were spacious and comfortable with beautiful windows opening out onto the grounds. The staff was easygoing and friendly and very kind to our 9 year old children. We also really enjoyed the food - breakfast was generous and delicious and our one formal dinner at the restaurant was delicious - for our kids too! Special thanks to Luke and Beatrice for their kindness. We would be thrilled to return!

Beautiful property and friendly staff

We absolutely loved our stay at this small and lovely hotel. We came in November with our two children. From the time of booking, the hotel was very accommodating of the fact that we were traveling with kids and needed two adjoining rooms. Upon arrival, the front desk staff could not have been more friendly or helpful, helping us unload and also providing restaurant recommendations for Bayeux. We absolutely loved the bartender on duty for one of the evenings we were there - Remmie. He delighted us with custom creations. We didn't dine at the hotel other than breakfast, only because it seemed too fancy for children.
The adjoining rooms we had were really both lovely. The beds could not have been more comfortable; the bathrooms were excellent; the windows opened to let in fresh air.
The hotel is quite ideal for touring the beaches of Normandy, being very close to Omaha beach and the US Cemetery. It is also reasonably close to the charming town of Bayeux.
We also had the privilege of meeting the owner one evening in the bar, and he was lovely. We will definitely return if we have the opportunity!

Short stay to tour Normandie

Excellent reviews led us to this luxury hotel. The rooms were nice and cozy and the help was very friendly. We ate at the hotel the first night and it was ok (mind you we were in Bordeaux for a week eating at great places). The grounds are wonderful but we had a bad patch of weather. The breakfast buffet was great....Our room was by the elevator but there is a double door so no noise..
