A four-star Mallorcan resort surrounded by lush gardens and sea views, with breakfast or half board

The Lowdown

Perched on a verdant hillside on Mallorca’s turquoise Costa de la Calma, the Maritim Hotel Galatzó provides the perfect spot for a balmy escape. With sandy beaches, a sparkling sea-view backdrop, warm waters and cool swimming pools, switching off here is unavoidable.
four-star Maritim Hotel Galatzó has plenty going on; indulge in the full-service spa with a
whirlpool and a Finnish sauna, limber up at the tennis centre, grab the shuttle bus and top up your tan on the local Paguera beach or tee off with a game of golf at a nearby course.
If all that sounds like too much activity, park yourself on a Balinese daybed on the pool’s sun terrace to take in views of the hotels exotic gardens. Or, for a change of scene, the capital city of Palma and the beautiful Tramuntana mountain range are both within easy reach.

Set in the hotel’s main buildings or the adjacent bungalows, rooms are spacious and comfortably decked out. Family rooms offer plenty of space for you and your brood, while Standard rooms are more compact – yours will come with a serene sea view.

Breakfast (and dinner if you opt for half-board) is served in the hotel’s main Restaurant Mediterraneo. The buffet-style meals offer a wide range of international and  Mediterranean-inspired dishes, overlooking the hotel’s gardens. For a change of scene, Maritim Hotel Galatzó’s Vista De Rey offers an exclusive a la carte menu and, if you can’t drag yourself away from the Balinese day beds, there’s a poolside bar serving light snacks.

The hotel’s vast wellness complex is home to a Finnish sauna, a whirlpool, a steamed bath and treatment rooms. Or if you really want to get your heart rate going, there’s always the fitness centre (if you must).

The Costa de la Carma is to the south-west of Mallorca, on a hillside just two and a half kilometres away from Paguera Beach (the hotel offers a daily shuttle service). The area is spacious and quiet, but is also close to the capital, Palma, and the towns of Santa Ponça and Andratx and hiking in the nearby Tramuntana mountains is not to be missed.

Nice stay

We had a really nice stay at this hotel. Friendly and professional staff. Food and breakfast good as well as the standard of the room, pool and spa area. I would definitely recommend this hotel. You will not regret your choice.

Lovely stay here but could improve a little!

A great time had here-short break, perfect weather, nice hotel. Room on 1st floor of main building-119-nice room, very clean, good beds but a rather old fashioned shower over high sided bath. Handrail dangerously positioned, towel rail wobbly.
Needs a refit with a walk in shower to be more modern & easy access!
Room had lovely large balcony with 2 good sun-beds, chairs & table-but no privacy from either side as is only a very low dividing wall separating balconies. We could see straight into our neighbours rooms & hear & see all! Could be made much more private with some kind of a screen?
Food was good-all buffet style but lots of choices inc cava at breakfast.
Really good evening entertainment-mainly single artistes or duos but all very talented.

Spa was such a long walk from the main hotel building it felt like it was in Minorca! Totally empty-no reception staff, no one in indoor pool area( a very cold pool!) & no one in sauna or jacuzzi area either! Someone had left the ladies sauna doors open-I closed them! There was no one around to see about treatments etc.
Several guests left whilst we were there as no one to deal with their queries. We had booked our treatments by phone-luckily! Nice facial / massage but there was just the one girl there doing everything-so when she was with a client the rest of this huge area was abandoned! Crazy!!
Lovely helpful staff at reception & pool & bars- Muchas Gracias!
