A four-star Mallorcan resort surrounded by lush gardens and sea views, with breakfast or half board

The Lowdown

Perched on a verdant hillside on Mallorca’s turquoise Costa de la Calma, the Maritim Hotel Galatzó provides the perfect spot for a balmy escape. With sandy beaches, a sparkling sea-view backdrop, warm waters and cool swimming pools, switching off here is unavoidable.
four-star Maritim Hotel Galatzó has plenty going on; indulge in the full-service spa with a
whirlpool and a Finnish sauna, limber up at the tennis centre, grab the shuttle bus and top up your tan on the local Paguera beach or tee off with a game of golf at a nearby course.
If all that sounds like too much activity, park yourself on a Balinese daybed on the pool’s sun terrace to take in views of the hotels exotic gardens. Or, for a change of scene, the capital city of Palma and the beautiful Tramuntana mountain range are both within easy reach.

Set in the hotel’s main buildings or the adjacent bungalows, rooms are spacious and comfortably decked out. Family rooms offer plenty of space for you and your brood, while Standard rooms are more compact – yours will come with a serene sea view.

Breakfast (and dinner if you opt for half-board) is served in the hotel’s main Restaurant Mediterraneo. The buffet-style meals offer a wide range of international and  Mediterranean-inspired dishes, overlooking the hotel’s gardens. For a change of scene, Maritim Hotel Galatzó’s Vista De Rey offers an exclusive a la carte menu and, if you can’t drag yourself away from the Balinese day beds, there’s a poolside bar serving light snacks.

The hotel’s vast wellness complex is home to a Finnish sauna, a whirlpool, a steamed bath and treatment rooms. Or if you really want to get your heart rate going, there’s always the fitness centre (if you must).

The Costa de la Carma is to the south-west of Mallorca, on a hillside just two and a half kilometres away from Paguera Beach (the hotel offers a daily shuttle service). The area is spacious and quiet, but is also close to the capital, Palma, and the towns of Santa Ponça and Andratx and hiking in the nearby Tramuntana mountains is not to be missed.

Gorgeous view

This hotel resort has a fantastic view to offer and the outside exterior is quite amazing. However - the buffet in the evening you could be without. Choose instead to stroll down to the the cozy RRR range restaurant or to beach front in Peguera. Mar Y May e g is a very nice place.
The hotel room does not offer any water at all so don’t forget to stop and buy lots of water for your stay. Neither is the espresso free in the room, they charge you for that too. The balconies are nice and beds all right. It’s very quiet and calm night time which makes you sleep ???? like a baby :-)

Found Our Second Home

We first visited the Maritim Hotel Galatzo in June 2019 and enjoyed it so much we returned in October 2019, we will be holidaying here next June & October. I can highly recommend this country club style hotel set amidst stunning gardens, scenery, the views of the sea are sensational. Set quietly, high above Peguera with a handy shuttle service into Peguera hourly. Our rooms are immaculately clean & spacious. There are ramps for people with mobility problems, which in June was perfect for my 80 year old mother. I want to thank & commend all at reception, our waiters & the hotel manager for their friendly welcome & outstanding service. We were half board and what can I say, all our meals were exceptional. In June I had to take my daughter to a clinic at 22:30, I walked to reception to ask for a taxi, however Fabian & Plamen in reception explained the hotel has a doctor on call. They arranged for the dr to visit my daughter in our room, she was seen by a wonderful professional who cleared up her problem quickly so that we may carry on our holiday. This I feel is a fantastic service to offer. We love the hotel for its peace & quiet, the evening entertainment is a fabulous addition, the artists were knock out. There are a couple of hotel cats, all the guests love them, they give the hotel a homely feel. We love the pools, always clean & there were always plenty of sun loungers to relax on. In the evening we also enjoyed a walk round the hotel grounds, there are stunning sunsets. There are no riffraff here, this hotel is perfect. See you next year!

Lovely hotel, lovely location, beautiful views.

We upgraded to a superior room with sea view and balcony. It was well worth the extra just for the view. The room was large and comfortable and with a 'wetroom' style bathroom with plenty of hot water. Our room (they call them villas) was in a block of 6
and was very quiet with no noise pollution from our fellow guests. The grounds are immaculately kept, clean and tidy at all times. There are two pools which were both well tended and water quality checked regularly. Plenty of sunbathing opportunities around the pools and on the pleasant lawned areas. Our board was bed and breakfast. A version of a Full English Breakfast was available but don't expect it to be like home. The good wasn't cooked to order although you could get omelettes freshly made which was hot. There was a wonderful selection of fresh and dried fruit, yogurt, cereal, bread and meats and cheeses. We had no problems having a substantial uncooked breakfast. We had some dinners in the hotel and again the choice was good. Whenever we used the restaurant we found the waiters/waitresses extremely helpful and attentive. It's approximately 20 min walk on an even cycle/walk way but there is a shuttle's bus during the day from/to the hotel to Paquera town for those who don't fancy the walk. It is quite a climb back up but there are plenty of taxis to be had in the town. The entertainment is low key providing a relaxed atmosphere after dinner. Overall the hotel was very good and it's biggest asset is its staff who, without exception were pleasant, helpful and polite.
