How to Get There
This Resort in Bohol is still very good and well maintained. The rooms have a great native feel. Wooden floors, indoor jacuzzi, your own pool overlooking the bay. Interesting food selections. Quite expensive though but worth it.
Truly a great experience. Once we arrived, everything has been prepared for. We went straight to our villa. The villa was well maintained. It had a “bahay kubo” feel but with modern amenities. I enjoyed walking barefoot. The exclusive pool outside gives you that privacy. The bathroom is quite unique as it is located “outdoors”.
We also enjoyed the food at their restaurant. We’ve had a mix of seafood and meat dishes. They really specialize at Filipino cuisine. Enjoyed the Grilled Kitong and Grilled Prawns, and their Humba. We also loved their breakfast when we ordered their fried danggit. Service at this resto was really good.
We also got to enjoy their massage at the Handuraw Spa. I was so relaxed that I slept through the session.
At checkout, was again impressed for the seamless experience.
Overall, we loved our stay here. Definitely one of our top resorts here in the Philippines. Would really consider going back here hopefully soon.
My wife and I love smaller, villa resorts where we can get away from it all - and this resort on paper fits the bill. And upon arrival, the resort looks the part as well - the staff is extremely welcoming, the resort has a certain rustic beach charm, the grounds are well maintained, the rooms are comfortable.
After five days there, we would say that it is a nice place - but there are many places we go which are just nicer. And as the days went by, we began to resent what we were paying to stay here rather than any of those places - we paid 5 star prices for a 4 star resort, we went to the spa once and were charged US$100 for a mediocre massage in a town where a good massage costs US$10, we were charged every time they gave us a ride into town which is 5 minutes away. By the fourth day we were spending more time in town as the food and atmosphere was far better.
The resort is not bad, it is just overpriced for what it is and the little touches that make a stay special are lacking. The facility itself is odd - there is a huge restaurant but no place to sit and have drinks without sitting a table or lounger, which obviously deters socialization. The beach is small but adequate. The infinity pool by our room was nice, but overclorinated to the point that it smelled too much to use. The resort literally ran out of white wine while we there with the sole exception of a $50 mediocre California import. The food was adequate, but neither memorable nor anything that made you want to eat there more than once. And oh yes, I mentioned the spa.
It is important to note that the staff were consistently lovely - helpful, positive, engaging. They made the stay decent and we were grateful for that.
This place was a great place to celebrate our anniversary. The villas make you feel like you are the only people in the resort. The staff were polite and accomodated requests. <10mins from the airport so with the transport there was no need to rush and you could maximize every minute. Quite a distance from the tourist sites but no traffic so we were avle to fit all the “must visit” places into one day.
We went to Eskaya for a wedding and we had an amazing experience. The food was great, the service was fantastic and the people were warm and friendly. The location’s great with amazing views and its only a couple minutes drive to the airport as well as Alona Beach. Will definitely come back with my family next time.
