The Lowdown

Hotel Son Caliu Spa Oasis is a comfortable, stylish hotel on the western coast of Mallorca, just over a mile from the exclusive Puerto Portals port. With its beachside location, luxurious spa and selection of restaurants and bars, this retreat makes it tempting to do very little during your time here. However, if you’re feeling energetic, tennis, yoga and paddle surfing are among the options on offer. There’s also excellent golfing in the area, and the hotel offers exclusive discounts on all Mallorca golf courses.
The star attraction, far and away, is the hotel’s spa, which covers more than a thousand square meters and comprises a wide range of facilities, including a Finnish sauna, Roman thermae bath and ice fountain. If you can tear yourself away from the hotel, Mallorca’s beautiful capital of Palma lies around 10 miles to the east, and the ultra-stylish harbor of Port Adriano sits to the west. There’s even a new bike center on-site, offering rentals, making it easy to explore this beautiful Mediterranean island.

exceptional hotel with great spa

found this hotel/spa on opodo. directly situated in its own small bay it's away from all the masses and turmoil of the near palmanova beach. the hotel has been renovated shortly and is very clean and stylish. the beds are comfortable, rooms have a big flat tv, fridge and safe. the infinity pool is nice and has it's own bar. the spa is exeptional and quiet. you can get treatments, there's a pool and different saunas. the staff is very friendly and helpful. there's no sand beach, but a jetty to easily get in and out of the water. the restaurant is clearly above average, though not haute cuisine. parking might be difficult in high season, if you decide to come with a rental car. if you want to get some peace and relaxation, this is definitely the right place to come.

Dont let the pictures fool you, this is an exceptionally nice hotel.

A lovely private beach area, nice bar, public rooms / area's are outstanding. Restaurant was a pleasure to visit. i read a number of negative views about this hotel and I must say, these people should stay at home. The staff and management have to put up with a great deal in running this hotel and the staff could not have been nicer.

I'll be back..

Hasta la vista

A true oasis

We had a wonderful start to our summer holiday with a week spent at this beautiful hotel. It truly is an oasis with its own lovely pool area and a small sea cove, a great spa with an excellent selection of saunas and steam rooms and a modern gym with state of the art equipment. However, the exercise classes I can only recommend to the super fit, and indeed the instructor made it clear these are the only types of customers she wants. We exercise regularly but had to leave the class after 40 minutes, it was run at far too fast a pace for the +32 C and 66% humidity. Our room was a good size and very well designed and modern with well-functioning air conditioning and for example data sockets. The only minus was that the shower was quite "lazy". Wi-Fi worked well throughout the hotel area. The personnel were all incredibly nice, welcoming and helpful and any small issue (like a blocked sink) was immediately and efficiently sorted out. The breakfasts and dinners were delicious and there was good variation from evening to evening. The after dinner entertainers were good, particularly the "Covers in the Sky", "Duo Fantasy" and the wonderful soul diva Jayla Brown. All in all, a thoroughly relaxing and wonderful experience. We will definitely come back!

Short Anniversary break

We absolutely loved this hotel. Everything from the spa to the pool to the breakfast yo the beach was great. We arrived on Sunday and although check in wasn’t til 2pm our room was ready earlier. It was our 19th wedding anniversary on Monday and on Sunday night the hotel had put a bottle of bubbly on ice in our room along with a platter of sweet delicacies along with a lovely message.
The hotel has a couple of bars which we used especially the day bar in Portals lounge which was for adults only and had day beds and an infinity pool with just amazing views.
The hotel is walking distance to Palmanova and a short taxi ride to Portals which is very upmarket but definitely worth a visit if only to see the boats.
The hotel buffet breakfast had so much choice - from cereals, fruit, pastries, yoghurts, meats, cheese plus a chef making omelettes fried eggs and pancakes.
The staff were all so pleasant and welcome .
It’s not a noisy hotel but very well suited to couples and families.
Fresh pool/beach towels were provided everyday and although Sunday was busy as I have a suspicion some non-guests may have been using the pool we always manage to get a sun lounger.
There is an enormous Mercadona supermarket just 2 minutes walk from the hotel.
The beach although not large has the softest sand and 3 restaurants on it including the Beach Flub Son Saliu where we had a fabulous meal.
We loved this hotel and although I’ve only been home for an hour I’ve already tried to rebook for next summer! I cannot think of anything to criticise. Well done Son Caliu!!

Excellent Service

We are an elderly couple and I am disabled and in a wheelchair. We stayed at this resort in the apartments. My husband fell ill whilst on our holiday. The hotel staff including German (the manager) were fantastic, they saw to it I was well looked after, with staff keeping me company, assisting me getting back to my apartment, making regular checks on my welfare and regular telephone calls to the hospital, translating and keeping me updated. I could not have asked for any more from them during this time.
Aside from this I couldn't recommend this resort more, the accommodation is clean, tidy and comfortable, maids were friendly and helpful, all staff also very friendly and helpful. all amenities were first class.
We definitely be returning.
