Overview

Glamour meets pared-down style at a new boutique villa resort in the Halkidiki village of Ouranoupolis, with half board and return airport transfers

The Lowdown

Raising the bar for boutique-style stays in Halkidiki, this chic villa resort overlooking the sparkling Aegean Sea is the offshoot of the star-studded and rather swanky Eagles Palace Hotel. So it comes as no surprise that it ticks the boxes for off-the-scale luxury, glossy aesthetics, and a polished service by courteous staff who really care about their guests.
Set to open in April 2017, its sizeable and super-sleek villas are designed to a high-spec, with each assuring private plunge pools, to-die-for sea views, and expansive indoor and outdoor living spaces, alongside marble-clad bathrooms, kitchenettes that are geared up for self-catering, and wonderful outdoor showers.
Ridiculously sunny days can be spent lounging by the pool, playing tennis or exploring your magical surrounds, to find out exactly why Ouranoupolis means Heaven’s City in Greek. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, head to either of the on-site restaurants for freshly-prepared international cuisine and well-executed Greek specialities – or work your way around the equally attractive dining spots at Eagles Palace Hotel.

So very spoilt
Reviewed 2 months ago

We booked an October short break in a villa room with pool. From the moment we landed to the moment we left we felt thoroughly spoilt. The transfer was seemless: welcome Prosecco on arrival and a club car to transport us to our villa. Everything was spotlessly clean, pastries and wine to welcome us to our room (lovely touch), and magnificent views from the room and balcony. We were in room 503 which was very close to the reception and nice and private. The breakfast and dinner buffets offered a huge array of fresh fruit, vegetables with the main meat and fish courses changing daily. All the staff were amazing (special mention to Anna - the Captain who was so much fun and also extremely professional). 100% compliments to all the staff and management; polite, helpful and friendly. - couldn’t ask for more. The mini bar was a bit pricey - isn’t it always! Unfortunately we didn’t get the “activity sheet” until a couple days before we left which offered some free taster sessions of water sports activities and picnics etc. We did take advantage of this when we got it and also hired a small boat to explore the islands which was so much fun. I have seen on other reviews that there was a scramble for sun beds but we did not experience this as everywhere was pretty empty during our stay. We had the pick of the beaches and were impressed with the buttons on each of the parasols that you could press ‘for service’. Lots of towels, drinking water plus some fruit available around the pools and beach areas. Thank you Eagles villas, we had a wonderful time. Location is possibly a little remote for exploring other areas unless you have a car, and is a bit of a journey from the airport. If you simply want peace and quiet, it is perfect.

A wonderful place to relax

The villas are really nice and spacious. They are arranged in a way that you have a maximum of privacy. The resort offers a large variety of activities, but it is also a great choice if you just want to be on your own and relax. Staff in all areas of the resort is really excellent. We booked half-board and only used the Lofos restaurant. They offer a wide variety of lokal and international dishes, freshly prepared ond of high quality.

We had an ocean view pool villa and stayed 9 nights. The villa is really nice and comfortable. All staff is very friendly and makes you feel at home. The food at Lofos Restaurant war great. The beach is nice and clean. We rented a boat for one day and drove to the second private beach of the hotel on the other island. This was really nice. We also can recommend the sunset cruise.

A week of pure bliss

We visited Eagles Villas the first week of September this year and I think I have only just gotten over the shock of being back in the real world! The week was amazing, so relaxing and exactly what my partner and I needed.

After the transfer to the hotel we were greeted with champagne, chilled flannels and a golf buggy ride up to the reception where we were offered another drink whilst we were talked through the hotel facilities. I was so excited to see the villa, having been a bit of a geek and having looked at all the reviews and videos online, I knew it would be great, but when were then told we had been upgraded to an Ocean View one bedroom Villa I was even more excited to see it!

The villa surpassed my expectations- it was spectacular, beautifully designed, spacious and private. We loved having our own private pool and it was kept lovely and clean and at the perfect temperature. The views were stunning and the bed was so comfortable I am thinking of writing to the hotel to ask what make the mattresses are!

The breakfast was great and Lofus was a lovely resturant for the evening though personally we preferred table service rather than a buffet so tried the other restaurants in the resort which were all lovely but I would say my only 2 critisims is the cost of the drinks is very high (we went to the town and picked up some supplies for the room as even soft drinks and water were over priced) and also the fact no one really dressed up for dinner, which can be nice to be relaxed but even in the fine dining resturant it was quite casual. It was quite quiet in the evenings which we didn’t mind and we even had room service delivered for dinner on the patio outside the room.

We hired a boat for an afternoon which was great fun and visited the islands off the coast and the hotel’s own island goat island which was so quiet and secluded it felt like we were on our own private island.

The reception staff, resturant staff, cleaning staff and the buggy drivers couldn’t do enough to help us and were all so friendly and helpful, it really made the holiday extra special.

Thank you so much for a fantastic holiday, I would recommend this as a hotel for anyone that wants some sunshine and relaxation in beautiful surroundings with extra special service.
