Raising the bar for boutique-style stays in Halkidiki, this chic villa resort overlooking the sparkling Aegean Sea is the offshoot of the star-studded and rather swanky Eagles Palace Hotel. So it comes as no surprise that it ticks the boxes for off-the-scale luxury, glossy aesthetics, and a polished service by courteous staff who really care about their guests.
Set to open in April 2017, its sizeable and super-sleek villas are designed to a high-spec, with each assuring private plunge pools, to-die-for sea views, and expansive indoor and outdoor living spaces, alongside marble-clad bathrooms, kitchenettes that are geared up for self-catering, and wonderful outdoor showers.
Ridiculously sunny days can be spent lounging by the pool, playing tennis or exploring your magical surrounds, to find out exactly why Ouranoupolis means Heaven’s City in Greek. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, head to either of the on-site restaurants for freshly-prepared international cuisine and well-executed Greek specialities – or work your way around the equally attractive dining spots at Eagles Palace Hotel.
How to Get There
I spent my birthday weekend at Eagles Villas and had the best time ever. The villa we stayed in was beautiful, spacious and had an amazing view. Not only was the villa great, but the service was impeccable from the moment we checked in. They also noted that it was my birthday and the staff would wish me on the day, and even the next day during breakfast, the woman would wish me and offer me some sparkling wine. They really pay a lot of attention to detail, noting whenever I need help or assistance, and are very hospitable. The service is great without being stuffy and the staff are lovely and sincere. Lastly, the food was fresh and delicious! I am already planning my next trip here as it’s the best way to enjoy Greece. I also think it’s significantly nicer than other overly touristy spots in Greece!
The area with the villas are quite steep. But you can always call for one of the buggy.
The beach area is another think. It is very nice but separated from the pool. So if you have kids there is a lot of walking back and forward between beach and pool.
A huge issue at the beach is the lack og towels. Every morning you had to wait for ages before there was any towels. Apparently they do not wash them over night? At the end I gave up and brought two with me to the room in the evening and back in the morning as my young daughter really needed one after her morning swim. It should not be like that!
One of the things that I think that the beach could use was an dedicated area for the villas. So you did not have to wait for towels and so.
Food.. we had half board.
LOFUS: Breakfast was very nice but the buffet in the evening was a bit boring.
Eleonas by FUGA: A bit disappointing Italian food.
We had lunch at the restaurant by the beach (Close to the pool) which was very nice. BUT very slow. We had to wait for our food between 30-50 minutes EVERYDAY! Quite irritating.
All in all I loved the Villa..
We spent a wonderful week there, a french family with two teens, in connecting villas with pools, both with stunning ocean views. The villas are brand new, very spacious, the modern interior design is impeccable.
The beaches are great, especially the ‘quiet zone’ one. You can swim quite far along the coast in transparent waters. The water sport zone is extremely well equipped: the waters are very calm in the morning which is great for wake-boarding, and in most late afternoons a steady wind is perfect for sailing. You can also do very nice trail runs in the countryside.
The whole staff is very nice and professional. Restaurants are very good, especially the gastronomic one, and again the views are fantastic. Even the buffet is varied and delicious. The cocktail bar is a perfect place during sunset.
Special thanks to the front desk staff and to our butler Lazarus :)
We absolutely loved every single moment at this breathtaking property. The management does a great job, special thanks to Mr. Fragotsinos for his professionalism and care of every single detail.
Eagles Villas has now set a new benchmark for us - which is absolute perfection and we can’t wait to return.
We had a Pool Villa with Garden which was really nice. Very quiet and relaxing and the Villa was very well fitted and comfortable. The pool was a bit small - more like a plunge pool than a villa pool but nice to dip into when the sun got a bit hot !
The staff were all very friendly and the restaurant is very well run with a fabulous breakfast menu and an all day menu to suit anyone.
We took a private boat trip down the Mount Athos peninsula to see the monasteries - fabulous (expensive but worth it !) - a superb morning out !
One negative point - staff seemed unable to resolve problems quickly. We had a problem with our transfers which the staff did very little to resolve. In the end I had to ring England and get the travel agent to ring them ..... probably should have done that for me to resolve the issue. In addition I asked three times if there was any way to get some additional steps in the pool as my wife has very bad knees and could not get onto the bottom step ..... nothing ever happened - disappointing !
