Overview

Glamour meets pared-down style at a new boutique villa resort in the Halkidiki village of Ouranoupolis, with half board and return airport transfers

The Lowdown

Raising the bar for boutique-style stays in Halkidiki, this chic villa resort overlooking the sparkling Aegean Sea is the offshoot of the star-studded and rather swanky Eagles Palace Hotel. So it comes as no surprise that it ticks the boxes for off-the-scale luxury, glossy aesthetics, and a polished service by courteous staff who really care about their guests.
Set to open in April 2017, its sizeable and super-sleek villas are designed to a high-spec, with each assuring private plunge pools, to-die-for sea views, and expansive indoor and outdoor living spaces, alongside marble-clad bathrooms, kitchenettes that are geared up for self-catering, and wonderful outdoor showers.
Ridiculously sunny days can be spent lounging by the pool, playing tennis or exploring your magical surrounds, to find out exactly why Ouranoupolis means Heaven’s City in Greek. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, head to either of the on-site restaurants for freshly-prepared international cuisine and well-executed Greek specialities – or work your way around the equally attractive dining spots at Eagles Palace Hotel.

What an amazing Villa! Great place, amazing architecture and design. Our private pool had 27 degrees... perfect for autumn. Also the beach was so nice, less people, and the “bell to heaven” (to order food and drinks)

Can't say enough good things about Eagles Villas. Stayed in late September and the villa was perfect in every way. Gorgeous and stylish interior, incredible views of the sea and the most amazing little pool. They call it a plunge pool but it's big enough to do short lengths in and is warm!

The staff were amazing - so friendly and can't do enough for you. Food and drink is lovely (although on the expensive side). We were half board and I wasn't sure what to expect from the evening buffet, but the food was definitely high end (not your usual all inclusive buffet) and there were a few la carte options every night which were included.

The private beach was gorgeous and we hired a boat one day which was so much fun!

One of the few places we have stayed that we would actually go back to.

The Best Resort I Have Ever Stayed in

I enjoyed a fabulous stay at Eagles Villas last week.
This resort is by far the most luxurious, friendly resort I have ever had the pleasure of staying in.
From the moment we checked in we were taken by golf buggy up to our villa. The receptionist who checked us in was friendly and welcoming and she took the time to talk to us about the resort and what facilities were provided. The porter put our bags in our room and talked us through the room amenities and how to work the AC etc.
The villa was exquisite. We had the one bedroom ocean villa with our own heated plunge pool and a view overlooking the sea. We had an outdoor shower, 2 bathrooms, large bed, sitting area and large stand alone bathtub. We got lucky with the location of our outside pool/deck area as we had privacy, but I noticed some of the other villas were not as private as ours. Although I'm not sure if these were the Junior suite villas or the One bedroom ocean villas?

The one thing that stands this resort out from many others I have stayed in was the friendliness of the hotel staff. Everytime we walked past a staff member we were acknowledged with a greeting and a smile. This really made us feel welcome. It shows that the staff their take pride in their work. There was not one staff member who wasn't friendly and everyone we walked past would greet us.

The buffet breakfast and dinner was outstanding. On top of the buffet they also offered us cooked dishes off a menu which you could pick and they would cook for you and serve you at your table. The waiters were friendly and constantly keeping the buffet fresh.

Location wise the closest town is Ouranopolis and the hotel provide free shuttle transfers there and back, 4 times a day, or you can get a taxi for about 10 Euros. It's about a 10 minute drive away.
It was about a 2 hour transfer from Thessaloniki airport to the resort and we used the resorts transfers.

The beach was beautiful and you should try to catch the sunset. The water is clear and you can see fish swimming around your feet. The beach service was quick. You press a button on the palm tree parasol for service and someone comes out within 5 minutes to take your order. They also provide water, fruit and towels on the beach. The hotel provides a complimentary golf buggy to/from the beach to the villas but we walked usually as we didn't find the walk or the hill back up, that bad.

I do not have one bad thing to say about this resort. Everything about our holiday was high quality and I can not fault anything.
