How to Get There
Stayed at the hotel nights of July 12-13. Not worth $500 a night for a view of the roof and a/c on the floor below. Couldn’t even see any water. Would have been better to stay in Portsmouth. Stayed in room 219. The bathroom door hinges needed oiled badly. From open to close the door screeched so loud. Asked front desk to just have someone oil it or give me wd-40 and I would do it. Didn’t get taken care of. The entry door to the room at the bottom had ~2” opening. Could hear anything going on in the hall. The Sunday brunch service was horrible on the morning of July 14. We sat ourselves after waiting at the hostess stand for 10 minutes. Finally, someone acknowledged us sitting down, and only visited us once. The manager apologized, but service still sucked. I would not stay there ever again.
My wife and I have always enjoyed our stays at Marriott’s Wentworth by the Sea. Sure, it’s an older hotel whose bones moan and groan at times, but some of the views are wonderful and the food delicious. We were especially impressed with the room we were assigned this year with the best view ever.
But it came at a price. In all the years I’ve stayed at the Wentworth, I never realized it was pet friendly...until my last stay. On the first night there, after returning from dinner, I spent the next hour listening to a dog bark. The hotel staff did take care of the problem as soon as they were notified but, for the next several days, the dog would bark on and off whenever someone when by the room it was in. This experience will make me think twice about booking there next year. Any future stays will have to include instructions for a room well away from any rooms with pets.
The property is great!
Bed very comfortable. Room very nice. Blinds don’t work well.
Staff super friendly
Concierge Dianne, went over and above. Exceptional service.
Value really good and atmosphere relaxing
The lounge is another story. Not at par with a Marriott lounge and for sure not a luxury property. Lounge has just regular coffee which wasn’t good. No espresso machine. No sodas. No alcohol in the evening or snacks during day.
