How to Get There
We have just returned from a wonderful 3 night stay at the Hotel Mlini and we can't wait to go back! This hotel was absolutely perfect for what we needed - a relaxing break, away from the hustle and bustle of Dubrovnik.
First of all, we had an early morning flight so arrived at the hotel around 11am, not expecting to be able to check in. However, after a very helpful staff member fiddled on the computer for a couple of minutes, he informed us we could check into our room straight away. (Already super impressed!)
When we got to the room, our jaws hit the floor even more! Our room was exactly like the pictures - spacious, spotlessly clean, and equipped with everything we needed. The views from the balcony were just beautiful too!
Customer service at this hotel was among the best I have ever experienced too. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, polite and happy to help you.
Food wise - the breakfast buffet had a wide variety of hot and cold food, and was constantly being topped up. Also, there is a pizzeria just across the courtyard from the hotel which I would definitely recommend. If you charge the bill to your room, you get a 10% discount.
Just outside the hotel you can get a water taxi to the main towns of Dubrovnik (100 kuna return) or Cavat (80 kuna return). The journey to Dubrovnik took approx 40 mins and there was a timetable available there, with water taxis running approx every 30/45 mins.
If anyone is thinking of going here, I could not recommend this place highly enough! It went above and beyond our expectations, and we cannot wait to return for a longer stay to enjoy more of what Croatia has to offer. Thank you Hotel Mlini!
Just spent one week at the lovely Hotel Mlini in Dubrovnik area Croatia for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Firstly the location of this hotel is really beautiful, set in a very peaceful area very close to the beach and the water taxi which takes you to Cavtat and Dubrovnik. The Hotel is very modern and spotlessly clean throughout. The rooms are just lovely, bright and airy with plenty of room and a very large bed ( we had room 311 ) . All rooms boast a fabulous sea view as well!!! We stayed from 21st to 28th of October and a lot of places were closing down around the Hotel for the end of the season, but a short trip to Dubrovnik, there is still a lot more places open if that is what you want. The staff at the Hotel Mlini are so lovely, helpful, friendly and very obliging at all times, and this made our stay even more perfect. Jet 2 had made a note on our booking about our 25th Anniversary, and when we went to our room, there was a lovely home made chocolate and nut cake and a bottle of bubbly on ice for us, which we thought was a lovely and sweet gesture from the Hotel staff :) . The Hotel does not have it's own pool, but the shared pool with the next door Hotel Asterea Is very close by and very lovely, and you can also use the indoor pool there as well. The only thing I must comment about is the food, and this is not a major at all, but there is room for improvement. There was always plenty to eat and it was quite nice and perfectly edible, but a lot of the time, the hot food was cold. The hot breakfast had bacon, very tasty sausages, and eggs. The only problem was, there were four types of eggs, but there were no mushrooms or baked beans, just types of vegetables, and potato croquets or other potato choices. Also this food was usually cold as well. There was plenty of other choices at breakfast, like cold meats & cheeses, cereals & fruit, croissants & cakes, fruit juices, coffee & tea so plentiful, and the same in the evening, plenty of choice. If the food was hotter and the hot breakfast choices were a little more varied, it would be perfect, but as I said these issues are very minor. This was our second visit to beautiful Croatia ( we stayed in the north last year ) and once again it was fantastic. Thank you very much to all staff at the beautiful Hotel Mlini for making our stay with you truly special, we hope to return again very soon. 5 star service throughout !!! x
Decent hotel, clean. Bit of a captured market so prices reflect this at the bars. Great to get the water taxi into dubrovnik. Got busy at the end as schools break up. Would go to Croatia again but to a different resort
We have just returned from five wonderful days at this hotel in the beautiful village of Mlini.
The hotel was fantastic, clean, modern and a view from our room that surpasses any we've had before. Huge bathroom, spotlessly clean and more than big enough for myself, husband and the 13yr old. Right on the seafront, it was lovely to fall asleep to the sound of the sea. It's a relatively small hotel, which is just what we wanted, and therefore felt really personable.
The hotel, and resort, close for the winter in a couple of days and the wonderful staff deserve their time off. Special.mention to Filip, the lovely lady in the Pizzeria and the manager who gave us a late check out but to be honest all the staff were professional, cheerful and happy to chat.
There are three restaurants on site which offer 10% discount if you stay at the hotel, all served delicious food with great service.
The hotel is a great base for exploring. A boat service is available right outside the hotel and a courtesy bus service runs from the attached sister hotel. We found the cheapest way to get to Cavtat or Dubrovnik was the number 10 bus at the top of the road. Lovely walks from the hotel itself, round the bay to Sobreno and then onto the abandoned resort of Kupari, a real reminder of the past conflicts.
All in all a perfect holiday, we will return and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else.
Wishing all the staff a well earned break, thanks for a wonderful stay.
Just back from a peaceful, relaxing week at the hotel Mlini. The hotel is in a lovely position and very quiet, which suited us. The water taxis were just a couple of minutes walk away for trips to Dubrovnik and Cavtat.
We had a sea view room on the 4th floor which was kept spotlessly clean by the maid. Nice bathroom, but can't understand why the shower head over the bath was in such an awkward position - would imagine that taller people would find it difficult to shower.
Staff at the hotel were always pleasant and friendly, especially at breakfast times. Breakfast itself was adequate with hot and cold buffet and I must say that it improved immensely during the week. I wasn't sure why there was an a la carte menu, which didn't include prices except for the coffee. Not sure whether or not the items were included when on a bed and breakfast basis, and that wasn't made clear. Also, it would have been nice to have had yogurts on the breakfast buffet.
Mlini itself is lovely and it was just a short walk to the sister hotel to enjoy the pool. Fresh beach towels were supplied as needed.
