How to Get There
i had a great time spending my staycation on this hotel would recommend it to family and friends. The spiral buffet was superb close to shopping area and has a luxurious amenity in the room. Staffs are friendly and attentive to the needs of the guests
we arrive in manila 6am, As gold member we check in by 8 am at lounge are, but we cannot access the lounge are till 10:30am. We wait more than 1 hour at the sofa before entering the room. We enter on our room by 9am but not allowed at the lounge area. we make an access on the lounge area by 10:30. worse experience, worse staff.
I spent two nights at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila.
Overall, this is a nice hotel for Manilla standards. It’s very big (so it always feels busy), and has a nice outside pool area. Staff are all nice and welcoming (perhaps too much; upon entering the hotel, I was welcomed by no fewer than eight different people! I realise and respect that this is pet of the welcoming culture).
I had a club room which was spacious and renovated, although I’m not a big fan of the overly “dark theme” used throughout the hotel, which gave a dimmed feeing. The club lounge is quite nice and offers decent food for breakfast and throughout the day; it felt like a haven from the huge and always busy Spiral restaurant.
The gym looked quite nice, although I wasn’t able to use it.
Overall I’d recommend this hotel if you can get one of the renovated rooms.
The last time I went to Sofitel Manila was eons ago. I do remember being impressed with the the buffet and the rooms.
Fast forward to 2018, I was sorely disappointed with our room. It looked dated, the shower area clogged easily, AC wasn’t working properly. The AC in my room has a better temp.
The food from the buffet was good but I found your service lacking.? I requested for taho and had to follow-up several times just to get another serving for my friend. Sure the staff was friendly and its a busy time of the year but I always set the bar high when I stay at a “5 Star Hotel”. Oh and another thing, your hotel doesn’t serve water to hotel guests if they’re just requesting for a pitcher. One has to order room service first. I’ve stayed in other hotels who are generous with water (in BKK and your sister hotel in Bali)
I actually had high expectations from your hotel because when I stayed in a hotel in Bali, managed by Sofitel, I felt like a queen. In my own country, I felt nothing special. Whatever happened to that warm Filipino hospitality no?
Your Christmas decors are nice
Stayed here overnight and a bit disappointed with the room. Although newly refurbished and pleasant internally, the outside balcony had a very nice view of Manila Bay but had not been renovated at all. The sliding door was not sound proof, it is shouting to be replaced. Noise from the pool area, traffic outside and the planes taking off were disturbing.
The door did not exclude noise from people talking in the corridor while passing by.
Water pressure is not that good. Bathroom amenities were ok. Bed was comfortable but pillows need upgrading as they are not what one expects from a 5* hotel.
Very quick check-in and check-out for accor members.
