How to Get There
We stayed in a Sunset Ocean Pool Villa for 9 nights as part of our honeymoon.
The weather on arrival day wasn't great which led to a bit of hanging around and delays to our sea plane transfer. Completely out of everyones control we know. However, once we arrived at the hotel, we quickly forgot about that.
The moment you arrive on the island you are greeted by lots of friendly faces. We were given a welcome drink and brought to our amazing villa. We had seen pictures before we went but none can do the setting and room justice. They had even left us a meal and bottle of Cava in the room as we had missed lunch that day.
There is plenty to do on the island if you want. We went on the snorkelling and whale shark snorkelling (we managed to see one!) excursions. The guys at Best Dives were extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable on both excursions. We also used the kayaks and SUPs throughout the week, this was confined to a limited area but still good fun all the same. Some of the best snorkelling was at the very bottom of our steps off the villa, the amount of marine life has to be seen to be believed. We also did the tropical honeymoon spa package which was very relaxing. Jen and Patis looked after us and it was very enjoyable.
We ate breakfast every morning in The Club, which was always excellent. Made to order omlettes, eggs, porridge, avocado toast and pancakes as well as many other local dishes. Coffees, teas, fresh juices and champagne were also available to order for breakfast. Not to mention a fresh tray of pastries.
We alternated dinners between The Club and either the Italian or Thai every other night. Dinner in The Club consisted of a 5 course meal, however the courses were perfectly sized so never left you too stuffed by the end of the evening. Dinner here was always amazing from the food, to the drinks, to the designs on the tables by the staff.
The Thai served some lovely fresh authentic dishes.
The setting of the Italian was amazing, watching all the fish, ray and reef sharks swim by as you ate was certainly unique. The food in the Italian was excellent, pizzas, pastas and some lovely fish courses.
The aqua bar was a great place to watch the sun going down or relax on their big couch beds.
My wife needs gluten free food, which we had mentioned before we arrived. Staff at Centara were exceptional in dealing with this. The head chef Shane came to meet us at dinner one evening to assure us she'd be well looked after. Chef Kuma in The Club talked her through the buffer options at lunch every day and even made some of his speciality dishes for her for lunch (all of which were gorgeous). Every morning at breakfast freshly baked gluten free breads and muffins were brought to the table. Shane even made a fresh gluten free pizza dough for her one evening we ate in the Italian.
A special thanks to Senthiel and all the wait staff at The Club, who couldnt do enough for us during our stay. Chefs Shane and Kuma who went above and beyond with their gluten free delights. And Ahu who kept our room spotless throughout the holiday.
We definetly hope to return in the future!
I loved youR resort. The location was very nice. Staff were kind, but some of them not attention as I expected. First day I arrived, with some of Chinese customers which is we took same sea plan together. When we there and have lunch we have found that one of Chinese speaking not that care to take the order from them. Until we ask them and translate to any staff, then they only get there drink. But part of my self everything were fine. As I’m the person who is easy going. But I’m working in hospitality industry then I have to say what I met and tell you to improve. Anyway special thanks to Mr Deer he is hotel manager and thanks to Sameer. Both of them were kind and very good take care to customers. Hey! Sameer you done very good job, please proud in your self. Pls keep its up. Anyway very much thank you to prepare my Honeymoon trip there. I loved it.
We are just back from a week here. We stayed in a sunset villa with club access and the whole holiday was just out of this world. The seaplane was great, check in was seamless and the room was absolutely stunning. Cleaned every day, towels & mini bar restocked daily..the whole place was immaculate.
We didn’t use the club as much as we would have had we not travelled as a family but the times we did the staff went above and beyond - wish I could remember the names of the staff in there but I can’t. They were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us, they work incredibly hard, as do all of the staff to be fair.
I hadn’t read the info correctly and didn’t realise that the banana boat only went on certain days because I left this too last min we were going to miss it which my daughter was really disappointed about but the guys at the water sports centre went out of their way and arranged for us to do it at the end of the day after all their bookings which they didn’t have to do - we were over the moon and it was great fun.
Our daughter had her bday here and was surprised with a choc cake and gorgeous flowers on her bed which was a lovey suprise!
The all inclusive here is really all inclusive - you could literally go and not spend a single penny. The trips were brilliant and again staff all very friendly and very knowledgable. We paid to go on turtle quest which I throughly recommend.
Spa - was one of the best I’ve been too, my husband and I both had deep tissue massages and I literally felt brand new. Our daughter had her 1st ever facial and she really enjoyed it, staff were lovely with her...
Foods amazing couldn’t fault any of the restaurants. The reef which is the buffet didn’t feel like the all inclusive vibe you normally get, felt like you were in a restaurant and all of the food was delicious, so much choice. We’re not big drinkers but the cocktails certainly looked the part! not a massive amount in the way of evening entertainment but I think that was to be expected in the Maldives, however the things they do put on were really good fun...crab racing was a firm favourite. And they do shark/sting ray feeding every night which was brilliant...
I would 100% recommend this place, it’s absolutely stunning, the staff are so accommodating and will go out of their way to make your stay even more perfect than the paradise you are surrounded by...
Massive thankyou for an incredible holiday and memories we will treasure forever....
