- Room Service
The ground floor lobby is a Zen ensemble of pale brown, taupe and cream, with roomy brown leather chairs and long blocks of light wood topped by green pillows that serve as rustic benches. One entire wall is pure stone covered by a rectangle of green — a luscious living wall plant. Floor-to-ceiling windows showcase the meadows and forest that surround the property.
Bed and Bath
Guestrooms are a mix of cream walls, modern beds with crisp white duvets, chocolate-brown wood furnishings and flat-screen TVs. All bathrooms feature rain showers and follow the same style with brown and white tile accents. Thoughtful touches such as backpacks and spa baskets in each room ensure that you can head out for a walk or pop down to the spa area without a second thought. All rooms are styled in the same way, but Junior Suites are more spacious, with free-standing white tubs in addition to the showers, and they offer balconies with views of the golf course. Comfort Rooms with balconies face the meadow and forest, and Comfort Rooms without balconies offer floor-to-ceiling windows.
The sumptuous restaurant, Lion d’Or, serves regional specialties including local cheeses and fresh-pressed apple cider. The adjoining bar and lounge offers live music, from mellow tunes on the grand piano to performances by local bands. The main draw is the mammoth 21,500-square-foot wellness zone, home to two saunas, a steam room, a pool and a saltwater outdoor Jacuzzi. The spa menu is extensive; indulge in an aromatherapy massage using apple blossom oil or an energizing post-golf treatment.
In the Area
The landscape around the hotel is a mix of manicured golf course and rolling hills and forests. You can opt for a bike ride or walk: Mountain and electric bikes are available to rent, and the front desk has maps with local walking and hiking trails, from soft one-hour strolls to full three-hour hikes. Or hit the 18-hole golf course and enjoy a day out on the greens with views of the Swiss Alps beyond. The hotel is a 20-minute drive from Lake Constance, which touches Switzerland, Germany and Austria. Drive across the water to Konstanz, a German university town with a pretty harbor and an impressive cathedral with a tower overlooking the lake. The property is around an hour’s drive from Zurich.
How to Get There
This place is simply amazing, the staff is very friendly, the rooms well furnished, comfortable and very clean.
The views from the restaurant are incredible and the food scrumptious.
I enjoyed my short stay there very much.
Nice and quite hotel. Enjoyed the room and the garden. The dinner was very romantic and delicious as well as the breakfast. The blackroll and yoga lessons were very helpfull and funny. We took our massage before leaving. Very friendly staff.
It's a great place. Everything is nice and well done, staff is friendly and competent, food is great, golf course is nicely set (18 holes, i believe). Only "downside": If you miss breakfast (ends at 10am.), they serve you only some bread&jam and joghurt - no eggs, cheese, meat and things. that i found a bit disappointing in a hotel which overall is really great. But if you're an early riser, that shouldn't be of your concern... I still would recommend it.
Highly recommend this resort. Great rooms, friendly staff, wonderful food and great SPA. We also attended the free yoga course which was great! Helen was a brilliant instructor who combined an advanced with a beginners class. Negative point was that the spa was very full and not enough pool side chairs to relax in. I will definetly go back.
We started off with a wonderful Massage, had an adventurous G&T tasting at the bar and enjoyed a delicious meal to end the day. The staff are all very friendly, the hotel (public area as well as rooms) are clean, and the Wellness Area is open from 7am which allowed me an early swim before Breakfast.
