Falling standards

Having visited Paradise before in 2016, My Wife and I were excitedly awaiting our return visit to celebrate our anniversary, having bookee into the Haven Suite for a 5 night all inclusive stay.
Now as we depart, it is with mixed feelings on a resort that seems to have lost its balance and way between paradise and profiteering.
All inclusive no longer means all inclusive...the mini bar in the room is not included in the all inclusive package which is bewildering...also not included is the replacement for your beer of choice when they run out..."can i have a tiger beer please"; "sorry sir we are out of cans, we have bottles of tiger but they are chargeable at 6 USD a drink" ???????????? its the same beer in a different container...go figure...
Standards at the buffet restaurant have fallen in terms of it being highly indian-centric food offerings now...gone are the fish curries and maldivian dishes to be replaced with sag aloos and chapati's...which brings me onto the next point...all inclusive also does not include all of the restaurants...in fact it only includes the buffet...the pool bar, the seafood and the italian restaurants are all chargeable...and charge they do...20 USD plus taxes for a below average pizza...6 USD and rising plus taxes for a drink...quite unjustifiable for an 'all inclusive' 950 USD per night resort.

In writing, I must also mention some of the staff who are doing their best to maintain the previous high standards, the room attendant for our villa was brilliant, Mr Ithaaf in the Lagoon restaurant was exceptional as was Mr Oussama in the Hulhangu bar area, others struggled to find a balance between service and tip hunting or simply lingering too long at the table in silence but in general the service, albeit slow at times was good.

It is with a tinge of sadness that i write this review as last time it was 5* and my review was as such however matters as highlighted above have left us feeling a bit underwhelmed at this experience and retiscent to return in future given the high competition and standards we have become accustomed to on our trips to this wonderful country.

Best Place to visit again... but for Long duration not the Short trip of 3 days

It was the amazing place and great hospitality from the Day we landed at Male Airport till we boarded the return flight from Male. Great Hospitality specially from Cynthia(Over all Hotel coordinator for us), Chef Gautam, Nelson house keeping all are kind and helpful. Anything we want and to be arrange. As we went to celebrate Son 1st Birthday. it was all arrange, Cake, Decoration we wanted.. etc.. Food is good. Water Villa experience is amazing.

Some negative energy in garden view room

Heyy guys, I am writing this review just to save tourists from tragic events. There is some negative energy in garden view rooms of this resort. There has been 3 instance where in 3 men have fallen down in the bathroom and hit their head very hard. It has not happened by slipping or accidentally. Pls be careful and take care
