How to Get There
The room was excellent with a fantastic view of the golf courses. I sat on the balcony and watched golfers as I sipped coffee from the Mountain Market (down the road). The service is great and all the amenities, especially for golf, are plentiful. For example, I was able to use the driving range whenever I wanted at no additional cost, and since the hotel doesn't have its own pool, guests can use the local recreation facility pool at no additional charge. The facility also has a hot tub, and food/beverages poolside. The restaurant onsite has a tasty menu, and there is also a busy bar and grill across the parking lot. I'd stay again,
An easy to find resort just 25 minutes from the heart of downtown Victoria. Our vacation started with great front desk staff--friendly and welcoming. Room was great, with a perfect view of the mountains, golf course and the Olympic range in Washington state. ALL the staff at this hotel were extremely polite and helpful
We didn't eat at Bella (fine dining), but we did grab 4 suppers at The Masters Lounge. It was great roadhouse style food at prices comparable, or even less than, area restaurants. For other dining, there is a myriad of choices about a 5 minute drive down the hill.
We golfed on site once and played the more difficult Mountain Course, and the practice facilities were great !! The only complaint about the resort was that the pro shop didn't inform us that the greens had been aerated, and there was no discount for the inconvenience. They did mention the Valley course was closed for aeration, but nothing that the mountain course had been done. The course was extremely scenic, so no complaints there, but there were an awful lot of blind shots so without local knowledge--beware. That was really the only complaint on an otherwise beautiful week.
It's only about a 5 or 6 minute drive off of Hwy 1 and all the area roads are great. The airport's about 25 minutes away, Butchart Gardens is about the same. Numerous hiking trails and parks very close.
Not only was the hotel great, but if you've never been to "the island"......ya gotta go !!
Victoria was super clean. People very friendly. Prices were reasonable. Go see the museum--it's worth half a day or better, but most of all---the scenery is jaw-dropping.
We would go back in a heartbeat.
And--we are not Westin/Marriot employees and are receiving nothing for this review.
A wide range of appies to hold you over til dinner, including a large selection of vegetarian friendly options. 10/10 recommend the Brussels sprouts. Even if you think you hate them, you'll love the way they've been prepared here.
