How to Get There
There was no AC and they had a huge alarm going the whole night. Got no sleep. Reception didn’t want to do anything about it either. Not worth the price. You can’t adjust the thermometer. Don’t stay here.
I occasionally have to travel overnight with my large dog. It is always a bit of an adventure as not all properties are pet friendly. The Westin at Bear Mountain, however, is a rare treat when travelling with a pet - the rooms are great, but better yet are the trails just behind the resort - lots of them and all of them places you can walk with your pet. Yes, there is still the stupid Canadian prohibition against them being with, even here on the lovely terrace, when eating, but it is still a very easy place to travel while in the company of a four legged companion.
Visited the Bear Mountain Golf Course on Saturday May 12, 2018.
Words can not describe the outstanding treatment we received from “Elliot” and the team at the course. They bent over backwards to ensure our experience here was top notch.
Thank you so much we will definitely be back!

A very nice hotel in lovely surroundings. The hotel is relatively new so the rooms are large and bathrooms are updated. Food is very good and their "Express" room service was excellent; always arriving within 15-20 minutes of ordering. Lobby, dining room and half the hotel rooms overlook a golf course with scenic view of mountains in the distance. On the less scenic side of the hotel, the rooms have large covered outdoor porches attached to the rooms. We spent a good deal of time there enjoying the mild weather. Spa and golf shop in building. Fitness club with pool, bike rental store, liquor store, restaurant and small market are all located within a short walk of the hotel in the surrounding planned community - which is very attractive with multiple walking paths, ponds, fountains and gardens,
What raised our stay above the average, however, was the staff. To a person, they were courteous, friendly, professional and helpful. This included the front desk staff, dining staff and housekeeping. We were traveling to a conference with an infant and the housekeeping staff was attentive working around nap time, not just for us but other guests who were with children as well. Very nice.
If you are a golfer, this is the place to stay and play. Not exceedingly close to downtown Victoria. But a great place to unwind.
My wife and stayed at the Westin Bear Mountain for three days / nights - OMG. This is how the wealthy must live. Outstanding service by all staff (reception, restaurants, clubhouse). Beautiful rooms (larger than one would normally expect), tremendous views, an outstanding setting, great restaurants (not expensive) - the experience couldn't have been better. And then there's the golf. Both the Mountain and the Valley courses are spectacular - some of the best golf courses I've had the pleasure to play.
