A lovely resort with fantastic staff and grounds
Reviewed 16 hours ago

We stayed at the Harbour Village this April. The rooms are lovely and spacious with really comfortable beds and top notch linens. The dive shop was superb with fantastic staff (Warren, Alfonso, Marene and others) and really nice gear. The airlines misplaced our luggage, so the dive shop had to outfit us head to toe for our first day.....no problem. The boat dives were amazing and even the reef/shore dive off the resort was fantastic. The restaurant La Balandra served delicious meals all day/evening with really charming staff that got to know us while we were there. Michaela, Gregorio and Iris were lovely and Charlie, the bird that visited our table was a treat, too. We will definitely return the next time we go to Bonaire!

Can’t wait to return

Our 3rd trip to Bonaire, and 1st time to Harbour Village and we can’t wait to go back. Our room was spacious and comfy and we could hear the waves from our bed, bliss! We loved the Nespresso machine for early am coffee.

The beachfront was beautiful and great for swimming and snorkel with plenty of chairs, shade and towels to go around. And it was QUIET! Again, bliss. We love to hear the palm trees in the wind and the sound of the water, not loud music. The staff was all friendly and helpful.

We thought all of the food at Balendra was good and varied and we especially loved seafood night.

The dive shop was friendly and professional and the guides really good and of course what’s not to love about concierge diving? Also enjoyed the dive next door — “Something Special”

I enjoyed walking the harbor every morning and we also have some restaurants in town we especially like, which were easy to get to.

Only suggestion for improvement would be to make the whole chit signing thing less cumbersome and allow bar tabs.

Incredible, hand down the best

This place was amazing. Paradise of a beach, big rooms, great service, awesome dive shop. They have snorkeling and night diving 20 meters of the shore of the hotel. Saw octupus, eels, juge fish. Really and amazing stay, hope to go bacl sometime soon...

Great Place on Bonaire

Second consecutive year staying here in early to mid-April, and just as superb this time around. The suites are spacious and upscale all around. One of us (me) is a diver, and took advantage of a boat dive a day while there. The other non-diver loves just sitting on our patio directly on the sand overlooking probably the nicest large beach on Bonaire, walking along the beach, and reading by the pool. The grounds are kept immaculate by an excellent ground crew. Housekeeping was great. La Balandra on premises is an excellent restaurant, and we had the breakfast-included package, which we recommend. Although we did eat around the island at our favorite places, we had a couple of lunches and dinners at La Balandra. Chef Louis does an excellent job. We felt welcomed from the time we arrived until the time we left. Front desk staff are helpful to the max, including making dinner and car rental reservations. Just cannot say enough good things about Harbour Village. Our suite was on the first floor, corner, equidistant from the dive shop and restaurant. You walk out the sliding glass door and you are literally on the beach.

Diver’s Paradise

Harbour Village has apparently been around for many years. As a result it has mature landscaping, and a choice location on the ocean about a mile from town. The property is meticulously maintained, and very well run.
The snorkeling directly off the beach is excellent. Although it is not a coral reef, there are many rock piles and a deep drop off on one side of the roped off snorkeling area that apparently makes the fish very happy. The variety and quantity of tropical fish is astonishing, as good as what I observed on many of my SCUBA dives.
The dive shop was excellent, the boat dives easy and fun. I especially enjoyed diving with the two dive masters, Ann Marie and Bonnie ,
as well as Alphonso the boat Captain. Very nice people who were helpful but not overbearing.
The breakfasts, included in our package, were very good, with lots of choices. Full American style, not just coffee and cake. The service at breakfast was good and attentive. The food at dinner was just average, over
priced, and we had service issues several times. After a few dinners at the hotel restaurant we began going to then restaurants in town , which for the most part were very good and fairly priced.
