How to Get There
An oasis in the middle of chaos.
I cannot fault the Oberoi in Kolkata. The service was superb , the rooms faultless , food amazing and the bar serves excellent chilli tequilas. Not to be missed if you’re in the area
Truly a five-star experience with dignified staff and the sedate old-world charm of the hotel. The only problem is the huge amount of abusive hawkers on both sides of the entrance, a real; nuisance. But once inside the hotel, a different world.
The Oberoi hotel is situated in the midst of a commercial area, which only enhances the contrast between the hussel &bussel of lively Kolkata and the serenity with old world charm of the hotel.
The minute you enter the premises, courteous helpful staff member is there to assist you. The public surroundings are gorgeous , there is a wonderful fragrance in the air, and soft classical music is played. There is an inner courtyard with a pool and various seating options, and the hotel is built around it. The room is spacious enough with a classical design in dark wood, the bathroom is squeaky clean and has all the necessary amenities. In the case you require some extras, within less than 5 minutes brings it to your room. All the servers speak excellent english and it’s easy to communicate with them.
There is a reasonable WiFi in the room as well as in the public areas.
All together,it’s a wonderful retreat in the midst of a very busy city. I would love to stay there again.
The oberoi grand hotel are very couple friendly. And this hotel's service Really too good am very interested and impressed. This hotel's employees are very good in they're behavior and they give you a very good service.
This service really very impressive.
Our 5-night stay at The Oberoi was nothing short of spectacular! Check in was smooth, requests were attended to promptly, every aspect of our experience was a delight. I was also very pleased that they had body pillows upon request, a small necessity that I really crave for when it comes to getting a good night’s sleep. This coupled with the fluffy pillows and bed made for our sleep to be heavenly. Leaving the hotel was also tough to be honest, with the nice offering of restaurants with a bar within.
The hotel’s history is also an interesting one, and we were thoroughly amazed at how well maintained the place is despite being decades old! It’s also worth commending that some of the staff even remembered our usual coffee orders for breakfast. Plus, the peace and calm of the hotel in the midst of a very hectic Kolkata was very much needed. We’d definitely recommend this place to anyone who’s looking to pay Kolkata a visit!
