Q! Hotel Maria Theresia
What We Love
- A stylish spa hotel in the Austrian Alps, set in a charming medieval town, with breakfast and moreThe hotel's ultra-modern interiors and chic spa area
- The many sporting activities you can try in the spectacular natural surroundings
- The historic center of Kitzbühel, with its sophisticated charm and many boutiques
The upscale resort of Kitzbühel is Austria’s sporting capital in the heart of the Tyrolean Alps and offers the perfect combination of traditional and modern culture, with some seriously spectacular scenery. The stylish Q! Hotel Maria Theresia boasts contemporary interiors, a luxe spa and close proximity to the boutiques and restaurants that line the town center.
Kitzbühel is best known as an elite ski destination but it shouldn’t be overlooked during the milder months – you can spend action-packed days mountain biking, swimming, playing tennis or hiking in the beautiful mountains and forests. The nearby Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith golf course is the best in the area, and there are three other clubs within easy reach if you want the luxury of choice.
How to Get There
Great location but rooms dated, better available in Kitz for the price. We ski in Kitzbuhel every year and fancied a change - wish we hadnt bothered. We are very lucky to holiday 4 or 5 times a year around the world, some very basic places and some much more expensive than Maria Theresia. This place acts above its station (not all staff but some, which must come from attitude of owners/management I guess). My wife felt uncomfortable from the outset, skiing holidays are tiring and the hotel should be friendly and relaxing but unfortunately this place is not. We have never experienced this in Austria in over 25 years of visiting. We will be back in Kitz next year but not here. Avoid.
We stayed at Q! Hotel Maria Theresia last month with our young chldren and a group of friends with thier children. All I can say is that one particular member of staff completely ruined our time there with her rude and very aggressive behaviour on more than one occasion. She was not averse to shouting and causing a scene which left our children crying and distraught and some of the mothers in tears.
Why would you even work in the hospitality industry if you're clearly not a people person and you don't like children?!
There is no way I could possibly recommend this hotel to families with children. If they even speak to each other or heavens forbid laugh then they'll get a good telling off from this terrible woman.
I went here with my wife for a romantic break. The hotel is nice enough and the bar area is very good although the noise from the road is less than ideal, particularly for waking you up early in the morning. The biggest issue though is the thoroughly rude staff, one lady in particular who had a stand up row with my wife over the food in the restaurant which is sub standard at best. If you're going here I'd highly advise eating out!
I took a group here in early February and we had a great time. The hotel staff went out of their way to accommodate all of our requests. They were extremely helpful with getting around the area too. The breakfast buffet was amazing! The dinner was good and the bar was good too. Kitzbuhel is a fun town and I would highly recommend it. Thank you to the staff at the Hotel Maria Theresia for making our trip so wonderful! We are all still talking about it.
3 Couples back skiing after 8 years. Very very rusty!!!! Great hotel location, within 5 minutes walk from Hahnenkamn Gondola station. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful and we got rooms close together as requested. The bedrooms were spotless warm and comfortable, breakfast menu was extensive and more than adequate to send us to the slopes. In the evening the sauna/wellness area helped soothe the aching muscles at no extra cost. Nice comfortable bar area with the only quibble being the strict closing time of 11pm. Highly recommended.
