The gorgeous Kempinski Hotel Das Tirol is the only Leading Hotel of the World in Kitzbühel, and it’s really no wonder. This incredible five-star resort in the Tyrolean Alps, just a few miles south of Kitzbühel, boasts soaring mountain views and direct access to ski paths in the winter and miles of lush green hills in the warmer months. The indoor situation is just as appealing as the outdoor scenery. There are indoor and outdoor pools, a sprawling spa spread over three floors, and incredible gourmet dining. Sra Bua by Frank Heppner serves up delicious fare from the Euro-Asian kitchen. You can also choose a five-course menu or à la carte selections at Restaurant Steinberg. And when you want to pick up some souvenirs to remember your Alpine escape by, the hotel offers a fashion boutique and a sports shop.
How to Get There
The hotel has a great location and offers great facilities. The location is amazing for skiers as it provides immediate access to ski slopes but it is as great for non skiers like us who wanted to spend an enjoyable winter break in the snow. The area offers great opportunities in terms of activities, places to visit, small villages to explore, beautiful mountains to reach by cable cars, and great restaurants for your taste buds. The weather was beautiful and the landscape and sceneries so refreshing and relaxing.
We visited the hotel by the end of October. The staff very helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious but the design under the standards. The spa is very small and the facilities are to be much improved. Overall the hotel is not bad but by far to meet the standards of the chain.
A year ago we stayed at Kempinski Berchtesgarten and it was SO good we thought we would try this one.
So we stayed 4 days and the rooms and everything is nice with the very good buffet breakfast.
The concierge is most helpful to make recommendations on restaurants and activities -you can even hire bikes.
The rooms are so comfortable and have excellent block out curtains, nice beds and lovely bathrooms with separate shower and bath, also the toilet is a separate room to the bathroom.
Good car parking valet service and appreciated the computer available in the lobby.
All the staff are excellent, the check in on arrival is with very efficient and friendly personnel. The hotel is modern and only 10 minutes drive to Kitzbuhel - it’s so nice staying out of the busy town.
When choosing room category the higher standard rooms at the back are better if you want to use the balcony in the daytime due to the road, however the soundproofing of the rooms is of a high standard.
All rooms have very efficient airconditioning which is operating super quiet.
Its a FIVE star hotel and deserves a FIVE star review.
