The gorgeous Kempinski Hotel Das Tirol is the only Leading Hotel of the World in Kitzbühel, and it’s really no wonder. This incredible five-star resort in the Tyrolean Alps, just a few miles south of Kitzbühel, boasts soaring mountain views and direct access to ski paths in the winter and miles of lush green hills in the warmer months. The indoor situation is just as appealing as the outdoor scenery. There are indoor and outdoor pools, a sprawling spa spread over three floors, and incredible gourmet dining. Sra Bua by Frank Heppner serves up delicious fare from the Euro-Asian kitchen. You can also choose a five-course menu or à la carte selections at Restaurant Steinberg. And when you want to pick up some souvenirs to remember your Alpine escape by, the hotel offers a fashion boutique and a sports shop.
How to Get There
The hotel was very nice, especially the reception at check-in was great. The food at the BBQ on Friday evening was excellent, the dessert buffet could have been richer as there were only fruits and ice cream. The breakfast left nothing to desired.
The room was nice, perhaps a little bit on the small side. Furthermore it was quite difficult to understand the lighting concept, where can I switch on and off the different lights - it seemed that there was not even a main switch.
I also tried the spa area as well as the outside pool. Unfortunately there were almost no umbrellas left so that I had to move my chair to a shady area which was not so easy. The sauna seemed very empty and for example the Hlldegard von Bingen part was not working properly (or didn't I understand what to do? Perhaps an information how long the different saunas should be used would have been helpful. As there was none was around I could not ask.
Nevertheless I enjoyed the hotel very much and would come back again as everybody was very nice and helpful and the food was excellent.
This is an exceptionally well managed and beautiful Hotel situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The fusion between both is seamless, thanks to General Manager, Mr. Gerhard Bosse and his highly motivated and guest centric team.
If you fail to have a world class experience here, it has more to do with your personality than it has with any aspect of the Hotel. I have never experienced a Hotel which was enjoying such high occupancy, yet still provided nothing but personalised, qualitative and expeditious service at all times. A must if you want to experience the finest of Hotel experiences.
We stayed here 2.5 years ago during the winter and this hotel has improved big time since then. Not saying that it was bad or something but it is even better today. Breakfast was just perfect, with home made appfelstrudel and smoothies....dinner was also very nice. Rooms are very spacious, pools are great...Really really great place to stay and if you lucky to be in Kitzbuhel area you cant go wrong with Kempinski das Tirol...we will for sure be back very soon ;))
