Great vacation!
Reviewed 1 day ago

Traveled with my husband and his sister and her husband. I was concerned after reading the negative reviews but after experiencing it ourselves we realized that some people you can never please! We were in adjoining rooms 1201 and 1202. This is not a 5 star resort, but our rooms were very clean, comfortable and everything worked. They are located directly on the beach. We loved the location,we could see the pool and of course the great beach. Plenty of chairs on a large beach. They would clean the beach every morning with a tractor. Yes they do have rocks in the water but wear your water shoes and take your time entering the water,it’s really just as you enter the water. Water was clear and beautiful! We snorkeled right at the resort everyday and saw hundreds of beautiful fish. The buffet offered a very wide variety of food. We enjoyed the seasoning so nothing was bland. Enjoyed the 3 restaurants, food very tasty and presentation was appealing. Entertainment at night we also enjoyed. The workers put so much into everything they do. The employees were friendly, helpful, courteous and most of them always smiling. Would I return? Yes definitely!

25th Anniversary Paradise!
Reviewed 2 days ago

We stayed as the first part of our 25th Anniversary trip. I went in with an open mind because of some negative reviews but those reviews couldn’t have been further from the truth. The entire staff was friendly - always smiling and accommodating. Here are my thoughts...
Accommodations: We upgraded to two ocean front rooms and ended up with the best view of the beach and our own private pool. The view was absolutely breathtaking!!
The Beach: Probably the prettiest I have ever seen! The white sand is like powder and the water is crystal clear! Fish were playful and plentiful. Although the water was a little rocky in spots, the rocks were easy to see and avoid. We were always able to find seats! We were approached by a few vendors wanting to braid our hair and sell us shells or T-shirts but they were harmless!
The Pool: The pool is pretty and the hot tub is huge! we were able to get seating at the pool and there were plenty of activities to keep us busy and entertained.
The drinks: The drinks were cold and plentiful! The bartenders were friendly and animated! They would always serve your drink with a smile and would mix you something as a surprise if you asked. One of my favorites was a yellow bird!!! There were plenty of non alcoholic choices as well!
The food: The buffet has many choices and is always changing! The omelette station in the morning is fantastic! The beach bar has things like pizza, burgers and nachos. We enjoyed dinner at Viva Cafe!
Entertainment and activities: As many people have indicated in other reviews, the staff is enthusiastic and tireless. They make sure fun is had by all! My favorite show was the beach party which included fire dancing! Non motorized watersports are included! We had a ton of fun paddle boarding, Kayaking and snorkeling! There are also sail boats the staff will take you out in but there wasn’t enough wind when we were there.
In conclusion, my only regret is that we didn’t have a couple more days to afford us a chance to visit a couple more places on the Island. Next time I will visit Peterson Cay and Gold Rock beach! We will be back!

You get what you pay for- it’s a decent Beach Break
Reviewed 3 days ago

I can’t review the resort as a hotel, we just used the facilities and beach on a day pass off our cruise ship. We reserved through Jaital, and it was $70pp to use all the non motorized beach equipment (snorkel and kayaks). It does not include transportation, which was the first bad taste in my mouth in Freeport, but separate from the hotel itself.

I read not to pay more than $30 and be sure to negotiate the price before you step foot in the taxi. We were quoted $38 for 4. When I said we shouldn’t pay more than $30, he said the government sets the prices. There was no A/C in the van, and another family of 5 was packed in there with us paying who know what as well. When we arrived, Charles, our taxi driver said he would drive us back to the cruise port for $30. Hmm- thought the prices were set by gov.? And- it was just 4 instead of 9 people. BUT- he was there at the time we set, stopped at a liquor store for us on the way, and was very good about chatting with me as I sat in the front.

Back to the hotel- only one Very small pool, no swim up bar. No bartenders coming around to get your drinks. Every time I wanted one, you had to truck it through the beach and either wait in a long line for the outside bar, or walk further and go inside. The Inside bar had a fabulous espresso machine that I took advantage of a couple times, and the bartenders were friendly. The beach chairs had minimal shade to offer. The souvenir shops were off-putting- there would be one price on the item, a clerk would give you a different price, and a second clerk gave a third price. So, I just didn’t buy anything.

There was a beach shack to eat from, burgers, dogs and chicken nuggets. We were told by a hotel guest that had eaten there all week that it wasn’t very good. She suggested the buffet, as the two restaurants were by reservation. It was good in the belly, but nothing spectacular. I would have liked to get the fresh mussels, but they were out and a line had formed, so I bypassed them for the sake of time. The staff in the dining area did not give off a friendly vibe at all.

The only beach activity I tried was snorkeling. I’m pretty sure other reviewers will say the same as me- the snorkeling here is not great. If you love to snorkel, book an excursion to a reef. I saw 5 fish in an hour. However, the hotel guest we chatted with brought a roll from breakfast and knee deep we were able to feed the fish bread that swarmed around us in a group of maybe 30, and ticked your legs as they swam by.

Another plus was that there was only one vendor that came around selling wares. I did feel safe leaving my valuables while I snorkeled.

Finally, the beach is rocky- and sharp between the broken shells and bottles. Bring water shoes if you go. One of us got a cut on the bottom of her foot. This is not a 5 star resort by any means, but it did the trick for a little beach break since the higher rated all inclusive resort was booked up by the time we started looking. We’ve paid less for a lot more, but don’t expect that in the Bahamas.

Not worth the so-called discounted price.

We were there for a week as part of a promotional package that included an overnight cruise from Palm Beach to the resort and back that included a required visit to Wyndham Worldwide presentation in Ft. Lauderdale. First, there are only three places at the resort with air conditioning. Your room and two of the specialty restaurants (you can only eat at each of the three specialty restaurants once). There are two bars, one on the beach and one in a large lobby outside the main dining hall where the buffet is served. The buffet area is not air conditioned so you must be hot and uncomfortable when you eat. The food was ok for the most part, but items that should be kept in or on chillers are not so they are room temperature (90 degrees +) and many of the "heated" trays for hot food only kept it slightly warm. Our room was on the second floor and there are no elevators so you must drag your luggage up and down the stairs. We called and requested our bags to be picked up at 10:00 AM on the day we checked out. When nobody had come by 10:20 we decided to drag them down the stairs ourselves. The bar at the beach serves burgers and hot dogs for lunch and they are grilled at the bar so they are fresh. We had lunch there about three days since it was actually better than what was usually offered in the main dining room. There are only four cabanas at the pool and they cannot be reserved, but if you get up early in the morning you have a good chance of getting one. The rooms were dated, but clean and adequate. Our room had a balcony facing the beach so that was pleasant. The pool is fairly large, but more like what you would expect of a rectangular, public pool as opposed to multiple pools or a meandering pool that winds around the resort as is the case in higher end resorts. The staff was friendly. Our transportation back to the airport was arranged as part of the package and the passenger loading process is a bit chaotic. Many dozens of people gather outside with no set line or order and one van at a time is allowed down to the loading area so you may be standing outside in the heat with your bags waiting for some time to be able to get crammed into a small van with eight or ten other passengers. We would definitely not return to this resort and as for anyone who may have purchased a timeshare at the Wyndham presentation in Ft. Lauderdale (At a beautiful, modern resort) and then traveled on to this resort? They must certainly feel as though they were duped.

Had a blast!! We did not experience any of the complaints I’ve read so it definitely exceeded my expectations great job to the staff! Alcohol was flowing and the food at the buffet were at par, restaurant that needed reservation also good!
