How to Get There
First off, the checking in process was a complete clusterfluck. Never, in my life, have I EVER been charged to used the safe in the room. A complete and utter rip off. Those safes have been paid for thousands of times over over the years! Total money grab.
The room. Old, mouldy. We got ONE bottle of water, to share between the two of us, for one week. Why bother? If you put your Do Not Disturb sign, they knock or yell at the door anyway. The entire resort is in need of repair and deep cleaning. The bathroom and shower was just gross.
The food. Meh. Always running out of coffee cups or empty coffee canister. The food was ok. The screens in the rafters, the window sills and the fans are disgustingly filthy. I had a big chunk of fuzz/dirt fall from the fan down onto our table, which made me look up. Just horrible! It’s a dining room!
The beach is GORGEOUS! Lots of chairs, lots of space. Clean.
You get what you pay for...
We won’t go back.
Our first time in this part of the globe and we loved the "all inclusive" package. All meals are buffet plus a beach snack/bar until 2am. Main bar from 7am to 12mn all you can drink cocktails, juices, capuccino etc. Free all non motorized water sports, trapeze, tennis, archery, scuba diving lesson, gym, paintball, games, zumba all conducted by the awesome animators Charlie, Gabrielle, Pedro, Fernanda, Betty, Tyrese and few others that I can't remember the names. The nightly shows are so much fun especially the circus show which was spectacular. All other hotel staff are friendly and attentive. The hotel, pool and beach facilites are five star. Airport transfers by bus are included. The only areas rhat needs attention are the rooms, needs renovation but clean and have fresh sheets. Another thing we couldn't figure out is why they charge $3/day for the use of in room safe.
We are already planning our next Wyndham vacation in other properties in Dominican Republic.
I rate the entertainment team 5 starts betty,piña,speddy they are amarzing they are so nice always happy the rest of the staff is so rude the rooms are so bad need upgrade evething is very old the hotel is really not in great shape and needs to be fixed up in the buffet there is no wailstaff get your own water or any other drinks food is not good so cold and nasty no going back to viva for sure😞😞
Stayed from April 6 to 13, 2019
Traveling on SunWing be prepared not to get into the room at least till 2:30 to 3pm the same day.
I was was up over 24hrs as our flight was early morning.by the time we arrived they picked us in this double decker open air bus which was a neat experienced but they where supposed to pick us all up in a coach enclosed bus. We must have arrived amongst other arrivals as the front lobby was rammed. totally disorganized.
There where problems with our group so they hurried up and we got into our rooms by 2:30. The porter that I got to bring our luggage to the room I didn't have any cash for a tip so I said I'd bring it to where it was initially dropped off. I went back to give him a tip and I mistaking gave it to another porter, that was the biggest mistake I've made travelling as he stated to me "Do we all look alike to you" now I was so exhausted and it compute what he said to me fully until a few days later to the front desk. "I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PROPERTY EVER AGAIN"
Here's a list of whats wrong with this property
*Dishes in the buffet area are all chipped including the coffee cups
*food sucks and under cooked
*not a kid friendly menu in any of the restaurants
*they limit you on food, meaning you cant bring any food back to your room
*a total of 4 soft drinks
*The booze is all full of sugar and no amount of mix will help
*staff is only Bohemian people all of the activity staff are full of Latin decent
*GET A NEW MUSIC PROGRAM. Same songs repeated daily and no local music etc No Socca or Reggae
*All it was Raggeton or Bachata music
*Dico waqs in the main area and only played till 12:00am. extend the time and get a new DJ or let him play current and local music
*The room was pathetic. The door to the washroom was damaged by termite
*Your lucky if you got 2 bottles of water in the room daily
*Mattress and Pillows are brutal
*If your hungry, you can get some burgers hot dogs french fries and pizza, now that was somewhat decent and luckily cooked through
Now the only thing this place got going for them is the beach and the calm waters. Thats it....
Id rather go to the REX in Antigua and sacrifice the pool size and the food to an extent and go there instead.
"I WILL NEVER SPEND MY HARD EARNED MONEY AT THIS RESORT EVER AGAIN'
I'll save up more money and go to Xuma in the Bahamas
First off I like to say that this is a great place to visit and spend a week. I do have some concern about a few things that need some attention.
First, Me, my Mom and Step-Dad are platinum member here, and the past four years we always had rooms next to each others. But this year, you guys decided to split us up and gave up one room on the bottom floor, and another one on the top floor.
Secondly, I do love the archery, but every time I tried to fire the arrow sideways (Which I'm used to back home) I always get yelled at telling me that I shouldn't do that.
