How to Get There
We stayed here at the end of May. I was very pleased with my choice. I wanted to be near the Poseidon water park and the Semiramis is in walking distance. The staff were so pleasant and helpful. The grounds and pool are lovely and clean. I loved looking at all the different plants and flowers. We had a sea view room and this meant walking up a ramp or taking stairs. It was convenient for the breakfast area though. I loved looking out from the room's patio area to see the little mountain and sea and enjoy the sunset.
I personally thought the breakfast had a good choice of breads, cheese, sliced meats. They had boiled and (sometimes) scrambled eggs. I also really appreciated the ricotta cheese, which I had with fruit. There were lovely cakes and crostata as well. The coffee was fine and, yes, they will make you an espresso or cappuccino if you want.
Super convenient for the bus station (just down a somewhat steep ramp from outside the hotel). From going down the ramp make a left and walk down to the Poseidon thermal water park. You can also take the little road and that will take you to the piazza, where there are a couple of cafes, convenience stores and a mini-market, which was handy for food and other things like sunscreen.
There is no restaurant at the hotel, but there are quite a few down by the beach. Most offering discounts for hotel guests.
My only negative was the mattress. Ours was tired and need to be changed.
we have returned to this hotel three times now. Always a wonderfully warm welcome and the hotel gets better every year. one of the friendliest and easiest hotels we have stayed in.Its close to the sea and in easy taxi distance of La Mortella and Forio. Cant wait to go back
The view and location were awesome right near bus stop and thermal baths and some good restaurants by the ocean.
but bed comfort left much to be desired. The toilets had difficulty flushing and the shower was very small.
Semiramis Hotel is a wonderful place to relax and chill by the pool. The beach is super close and the city is nearly a walking distance away, though there are plenty of bus services too. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby.
The hotel itself is cosy and cute. The pool is warm and never really crowded. There were plenty of people staying there at the same time, but you don't feel it. It's really nice to for a calm and restful holiday. Breakfasts are great, too.
Semiramis, please give the turtles a bigger pond in the shade, though!
Initial impressions were good for the 3 star hotel. Lush green vegetation greets you all around. The reception staff were fast and efficient as well as very helpful and informative. The receptionist showed us to our classic room and explained we should get a sunset from our terrace. After settling in we went straight for the thermal pool, imagine a warm bath and you are there. We spent the rest of day 1 lounging around the pool in the last of the days sun recovering from our 12hr journey. That evening using the information provided by reception about the local restaurants we walked the length of the main street in Citara. Staff are always helpful and with a smile.
Arrange a taxi via the hotel to avoid rip-off txi drivers. max 30euro. Alternatively get the bus, it's quick and cheap. 4 nights was enough as there was not a lot going on in Citara or the hotel at night.
