How to Get There
The room and hotel were very nice and so they should be for the amount charged. I could not get a phone signal at all in my room or in the downstairs communal areas of the hotel and neither could the people I went with. I had to go outside and the weather was not good. The free WiFi requires personal data and my laptop could not access it. At breakfast the poached egg I was served with was so undercooked you could not lift it with a fork. I don't normally complain, but I just couldn't face that slimy mess first thing in the morning! The staff took it back and the next egg was so overdone the yolk would not run and was dry, which was also unappetising. Then I realised the whole smashed avocado dish was not right. The staff did not seem to understand that the toast should be crisp and chewy rather than dry, fluffy and cakey. Nor could they see that the avocado did not look right. (It was dark and dull and didn't taste right). After all this I felt I ran out of time and had to just grab a pastry. Other people who I went with chose traditional breakfast dishes and they were perfectly good.
I have stayed here on business many times and having stayed at hotels around the UK I can honestly say this is my favourite hotel. The location is quiet and in an upmarket area with lovely rooms which are always spotless. The food is great and most of all, the wonderful staff are friendly and always make you feel welcome. I almost view the hotel as a second home - it really is an absolute gem and could not recommend it highly enough.
Stayed here for 3 nights whilst attending the Horse of the Year show with my elderly Mother. The staff could not have been more professional and helpful. They could not do enough for us and the room, food and surroundings made this such a wonderful time away with no complaints whatsoever. I will definitely stay here again and would like to thank all the girls on service and Michelle for organising our take away Afternoon Tea which was delicious. The hotel is about 10/15 mins away from NEC so was an excellent place to come back to.
