How to Get There
The facility location is beautiful and a paradise, indeed! We stayed at deluxe sunset villa with breakfast included
They surprised my daughter with a birthday cake towel on our last night, and housekeepers are exceptionally attentive to our needs.
Many food selections during the breakfast buffet
Heated pool and kid pool is right next to the adult pool
Free snorkel equipment
There are many chairs in the beach area
During check-in, we felt that we are neglected in many instances. The welcome drink was not offered until during the orientation when Toni asked us if we liked our drinks. When we are escorted to our room, the welcome foot massage didn’t happen 30 mins after we got in the room, and our luggage came 45 mins after. I wouldn’t mention it, but I noticed the guest's next villa is the same guests that came with us from the town, who just got in their room, their luggage with them in the golf cart(I didn't know it was an option, we were not offered golf cart to get to our room), and people that give welcome foot massage was already waiting for them. I felt that we are shortchanged with the service we received in those instances.
Thanks to the following staff that provided an excellent service during our stay:
Maria and emely- foot massage
Egg station guy
My wife and I spend 3 wonderful days at Club Paradise. The island, beaches and facilities are as described, just beautiful! Johng was very friendly and helpful, as were Bea and Justin.
The Room: We had a Sunset Deluxe Villa, and I would recommend spending the extra $$ on this room. It is really large, with nice wood floors, a big walk in closet that also includes a desk and chair. The bathroom has a nice shower area as well. With the Sunset villas, you get your own area of beach, and it didn't disappoint with some breathtaking sunsets! The downside to the room, is the air conditioning doesn't go into the bathroom, so on hot days (and they are pretty much all hot days in the Philippines) you will be sweating on the toilet. There is a minibar with snacks in the room, but everything besides 2 bottles of water is not complementary and is pretty pricey. Also, just so you don't get hit with a bill at the end of your stay, the large tote bag you will find on your bed is only for use while you are there. There is also an eco bag and some sunscreen on the bed that seems like it is free, but there is a charge if you use it.
The Food: There is only one restaurant on the island, although to its credit, has a pretty good assortment of food choices. I liked the Beef Satay, Vietnamese Steak, Parmesan Chicken and Pizza that I had while there. Ironically, while the burger looked wonderful, it tasted like it was 2 days old. I wouldn't recommend the burger! Breakfast is a complementary buffet and pretty good.
The Beach: Very nice! Contrary to what I understood from watching some videos, each room does not get its own cabana. There are only 4 cabanas on the island, and they are in front of the pool and restaurant. I would suggest to eat breakfast and then go right for them as they get filled pretty quick and for good reason, they are wonderful way to enjoy your day, and you can have lunch right there or pull up a little table and chairs and have lunch on the beach!
Sea life: There is a nice reef where we saw a lot of fish and some stingrays to the left of the restaurant. Directly in front of the turtle statue is pretty much just grassy seabed but that is where you fill find the sea turtles, we saw 4 or 5. Off to the right of the massage area is the house reef, more fish. Farther to the right, in front of villa 1010 you will find the giant clam. Over in that area I also saw a black tipped shark!
It is my first time to be in Coron. I chose to stay in Club Paradise because they are part of the My Discovery Elite group. Based from my experience in staying at Discovery Shores Boracay, I was expecting to experience the same excellent staff service because they belong in one group, as advertised. Imagine my surprise when I arrived at the resort and they asked me to fill out the forms that I have already sent prior my arrival. The front desk also asked if my family and I are celebrating something -- which I also informed via email prior my arrival. It is my conclusion that their Manila office and the staff at the resort are not communicating well. I bought the package with full board meals and we had some issues about it, too. I voiced out my concerns to the management and it's good that they were able to listen, did damage control & made up for it. After this, the staff became attentive and lived up to my expectations.
As advertised, Club Paradise is located in Dimakya Island. You need to go back to the main town of Coron to see the famous tourist areas that Coron is known for or you can just stay and relax in the resort.
The color of the sea around the island is beautiful. Beautiful than Boracay! The sand is white but not as fine as Boracay beach. I guess you can't have everything.
The villas are clean and spacious (stayed in sunset deluxe villa). Bed and pillows are of high quality. Internet service is slow.
The resort has a very good chef. The food is delicious but quite pricey. I suggest you take advantage of the full board meal package. I requested for a "boodle fight" lunch and the arrangement was awesome!!!
Staff service, after I voiced out my issues & concerns, became better. They arranged a beautiful dinner set up for my mom's 75th birthday at the beach. I really appreciate this gesture.
