A hideaway vacation
Reviewed 1 week ago

My husband was planning to celebrate our anniversary since January . We choose Hideaway because it was a sister resort for Lily beach and resort which we visited first and I will write my review about it also. Hide away resort is beautiful.
We stayed in Deluxe water villa which was beautiful, Spacious ,modern and well maintained. The private pool is huge and very clean facing the ocean. It has a beautiful view. You can watch some fish in the water in front of you. The indoor jacuzzi is nice .

There are four restaurants. The samsara restaurant which is Asian fusion. The restaurant is beautiful. The location over the see is so romantic. The food is so delicious. You have three different menus . Indian, Japanese and Thai menu. Huge variety of choices. Special thanks to the restaurant maneger Ibrahim who made our dinner there so special. He took a very good care of us the whole night during the dinner. He made great suggestions of choices and we did enjoy every single dish. The food was very delicious. Thank you Ibrahim.
A note to make is be sure to ask your butler to do the reservations early before you arrive because it took us three nights to get the reservation in Samsara. The point is if your butler is initiative, he or she could make a reservation for you before you arrive knowing that it’s difficult to get it.
The second restaurant is Meero which is beautiful as well. The food is delicious. My husband and me loved the Mushroom soup with duck confit. The scallops were perfectly cooked.

The third restaurant is Matheefaru which is the buffet. It has great variety of food for breakfast. The waiters are attentive and nice. They know your preferences of juice and coffee.
The sunset pool and bar was relaxing and has a beautiful view. Food is good. You should try the Ceasar salad with grilled prawns. It is so delicious. The ravioli and ressotto were so delicious as well.

The beach is beautiful and you can see fish while swimming. We didn't do snorkeling but it seems that they have nice spots with great corals and reef.

The GM Christian is very attentive and nice checking on customers. He goes around the resort talking to people being sure they are having good time. Thanks for your welcoming efforts.

The restaurant manger Sankar is another nice welcoming person in the resort . He chatted with us giving us good suggestions on the menus . Thank you for the good amazing service we had.

Our experience was generally great however there were few unfortunate incidents.
First, our butler Hiba was not initiative as we expected. No restaurants reservation were made upon arrival. No good introduction to the resort activities and what can be done to enjoy. No suggestions for our anniversary dinners or celebration. She was focused to tell us about what are the chargeable activities although we had the white platinum package. She knows nothing about good communication with customers or how to please them. she avoided talking to us to tell us about our travel arrangements. She definitely needs more training in dealing with customers.
The second incident happened at the Spa where we reserved our couple message . The AC in the room was not working and we were sweating during the message but they made it up to us by giving us a complementary message on the next day after we complained.
We had the white platinum package which you expect that it should include everything but unfortunately so many items on the restaurants menu and in the mini bar are not included.
Unfortunately also we didn’t get good explanation from our butler Hiba about anything.
There is one more negative point which is transportation from and to the island . It is difficult and it's very difficult to plan it well. it really depends on the trans maldavian airway and the hotel cannot guarantee the time of arrival or departure. Try always to arrive to Male airport in the morning before 10 am where you can catch the 10 am flight to the island

In conclusion, it's a beautiful resort and we did really enjoyed it.

Outstanding resort

Very nice stay in April 2019. The staff is very nice, the food is excellent as well as the diving instructors and sites. This is a very exclusive place far away from Male and you really have the impression to be on the other side of the world.

The perfect honeymoon
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

As we were planning for our honeymoon vacation. It took over 6 weeks of research to find the resort which offers the best value/price combination. I looked into dozens of resorts, browsed hundreds of photos, read tons of reviews, compared rates and performed rigorous analysis on all those resorts. There was little to no room for error. Finally, I made the perfect decision, I settled for HBR, Maldives.

The two major factors that contributed to my decision are the privacy and the size of the villa in this resort. The deluxe over-water villa, where we stayed in for 3 nights, offered unmatched privacy for us as a couple. Each of these water villas is designed to protect guests’ privacy as they are arranged in a crescent shape and kept distance apart. Plus, the villa has an external shading wall attached to veranda. Additionally, these water villas are remarkably large. They are among the largest villas in the Maldives, each measuring 190 square meter. A much-needed space for us to relax and unwind.

My experience with HBR is nothing short of perfect. The resort, the team, the management and the service are outstanding. Before our arrival, we engaged in excellent communication with HBR reservation team, who arranged our transfer matters and ensured all our preferences are met.

We were pleasantly welcomed by their best personal butler KATE, who took good care of all our needs. She swiftly finalized our check-in and served chilling drinks upon our arrival, drove us to the villa and introduced its facilities.

The villa is well designed, very clean, large and equipped with the best-in-class amenities. We really enjoyed swimming at the private pool, which was clean and spacious. The in-door jacuzzi is amazing and it has the option of direct sea view once the curtains are opened. The bed is also very comfortable. A Nespresso machine and water kettle are available, TWG teas and coffee capsules are supplied daily. Interestingly, there were no lizards or mosquitoes in our villa. The housekeeping service is perfromed twice daily to ensure the villa is kept clean and tidy.

For F&B, there are four restaurants. The main is Matheefaru, where breakfast is served. The daily morning spread is just as we wanted with equal mix of continental and Asian dishes. Special mention of in-house pastries and fresh fruits which my wife liked the most. I personally applaud the Chef who prepared upon my request a mid-eastern style fava bean dish. Our butler KATE arranged and booked us a table for a special BBQ night at Meeru. My wife and me both agreed it was the best seafood BBQ dinner we ever had.

The beach at HBR is very picturesque. Long gold sand beach that kisses the blue sea water with tilted palm trees in the background. We enjoyed strolling across the beach and taking the tree swing. We also enjoyed cycling around this beautiful island as each villa is provided with 2 bicycles. However, we wish if we stayed more to try all activities such as water sports, tennis court, the gym and private excursions.

Despite that there were two unfortunate minor incidents that happened before and during our stay at HBR, we received a direct apology from the manager ARSHAD who made an outstanding proposal to compensate for the shortcoming. We were pampered by three romantic treats. The first was a small sunset party (with snacks and drinks) on a floating lounge (hamacland) and a private dinner table on the beach. The best surprise was a complimentary one night upgrade to the beach family villa which was exceptionally spacious (440 m2) and well maintained.

It is noteworthy how the management of this place could transform minor disappointment into joy and satisfaction. The general manager CHRISTIAN is one example. He went above and beyond to ensure that we were satisfied and happy in every aspect of our stay. He would simply show up with a smile to check if everything is ok.

Finally, we would like to say to the wonderful staff at HBR including ARSHAD, MUJEY, KATE, SOJA, ALI, MR SZABO and all others whose names we don’t recall: Thank you very much, we will never forget you as you created and shaped our dream honeymoon memory.

Excellent, excellent, excelent

Visited first in 2018, decided to return again at 2019. Extremely happy with our choice, considering we have been at 10 difrent locations on Maldives and Seychelles.
Excellent island, enough large to feel privacy. Excellent villas (we are now at Sunset infinity pool villa. Excellent staff, all of them. We look forward for our third visit here, next year. Hideaway will stay forever in our hearts! Our 8 yrs old daughter confirmed that this is the Paradise and we are so happy that one of her first real memories will be connected to Hideaway!
I am keep thinking what a recommendation I may give. The only one in mind would be to upgrade and update your extensive pillow menu :)

Definitely worth the trip

This is my fifth time in the Maldives and Hideway resort is one of the best. The weather is amazing, the resort is big and have all the facilities that guests might need (4 restaurants, sport center, dive center, kids club, clinic,....)

We are staying at a sunset beach pool villa (144) the villa is nice with separated living room and walk in closet with an outdoor bathroom ( not a big fan of the outdoor bath 🦎), the pool is hug and facing the sunset and u have direct access to a beautiful white sand beach.

The food is very delicious her and u don’t want to miss a treatment at the Spa.

I want to thank Omayma because she made this vacation 100 times better, she is very prompt and helpful and she will do everything to satisfy your requests 💗
