How to Get There
Love this place. A gorgeous villa adorned with modern, whimsical pieces of art and furniture , but anchored with good old-fashioned service.. Everyone from the driver of the shuttle to the front desk staff to the fabulous Lorenzo and his waiters were charming and efficient. Our room was large and comfortable; ditto the bathroom. And the food, both dinner and breakfast, was delicious. A real find.
We were at a conference in Verona and stayed at the Byblos a little far to travel back and forth but while staying at Byblos you will have lots to look at everywhere and I mean everywhere you look artwork is spectacular even when you walk in to the main entrance look up at the ceiling and you will be wowed poolside is beautiful with lots of colourful plants and trees you can walk forever looking at the gardens sculptures everywhere such an interesting place.
What can I say! This hotel is a gem from the stunning villa and gardens to the unique art which is simply amazing and top notch staff!! Special thanks to Laura at front office reception for her excellent service, always with a smile and Basil the night receptionist that went above and beyond all expectations, he should be promoted!! If you are looking for an unforgettable experience treat yourself and stay here. It is 15-20mins drive from beautiful Verona a wonderful base to drive around and explore the area..Thank you for this wonderful experience, hopefully I will be back one day.
We loved our stay at the Byblos Art Hotel Villa Amista. The property is beautiful and the staff couldn't be more accommodating. The art work was so much fun to look at and we loved walking through the gardens. We thought everyone on staff bent over backwards to make sure our stay was good. We ate one dinner at the hotel which was delicious. We would highly recommend the hotel. Our initial concern was the distance from the hotel to the city center of Verona. The hotel does have a free shuttle. It's about a 20 minute drive. We ate dinner in Verona the second night and it was packed with people. When we returned to the hotel, we felt like it was a beautiful little 'oasis' away from the hustle and bustle. The only thing the distance to the city center disrupted was if we wanted to take a stroll in the late evening or early morning. We thought for the beauty and quiet, it was a good trade off.
The photos of the property can never do it justice. The colors, the art, the sculptures and the gardens are over the top. Who would ever think that a walk down a hotel corridor would be akin to walking through a kaleidoscope? We had a suite on the top floor with a small cupola off the bedroom with 2 chairs and a 270 degree view of the countryside and sunset. There are (good) surprises around every corner. We found the restaurant to be so good we were there twice for dinner enjoying great service, fine wine and fabulous food. The front desk staff are awesome and George is treat. This is not just a hotel, it's an experience.
