Fantastic service in an unforgettable setting

We had a pleasant stay at the gorgeous hotel and enjoyed their friendly and attentive service from the first moment on.
The entire estate is just a pleasure to explore with lush gardens, great pool and jacuzzi area.
Lots of thoughts have been put into all the details of their art collection and restoration of the ancient villa.
Also took advantage of their free shuttle to Verona which is about 20 minutes to downtown.
The breakfast buffet is also worth mentioning... English Jam, and individual Yoghurt glasses, salmon and lots of great breads and pastries.

Very special place

The friendliest hotel staff ever ! Helpful, the best they could! Very original decoration, every single piece is a piece of art. Big rooms, very clean, breakfast at highest level. You should also have dinner at the restaurant, it’s exceptional! Very well kept Italian garden. Wish I could give more stars :-)

One of the best hotels I visited ever. Service top! luxury Spot.

Not 5* and not worth the bother

This hotel is really only 3.5 stars, but I think it unfair to give it only 3 stars. It is a nice facility, but there are some things lacking. It is definitely was not 5 stars or worth the 5 star price during my visit.

I was initially hesitant to book at Byblos. I was not sure about the decor or it’s location. The decor turned out to be fine! The art work is interesting, and the colors are fanciful but not that intrusive. The rooms are a really nice size, particularly for European standards. But we stayed at the start of the late fall season, and it was ridiculously hot in our room! I think this might be the norm in Italy, having had a similar experience in Sirmione. But there was no mention of that when we reported our hot room to the front desk, who sent staff twice to check the room temperature. The common areas were not quite as hot as our room, which was very uncomfortable! If you like a colder temperature for sleeping, this place is not for you. And do note that the temperatures outside were still in the high 70s Fahrenheit during our visit.

The gardens by the pool and the Oasi Relax area were overgrown. I would not at all feel inclined to relax in the Oasi area due to all the vines and bushes. The main pool area was nicer but really nothing special. The front grounds and hotel interior appear far nicer than these “amenities. “ I did not get the opportunity to visit the spa.

We had dinner one night at an on site restaurant. That was actually quite good. The service was good, as was the food. We also had room service one night, which was delivered timely and was equally good.

There is a shuttle bus service to town that leaves pretty much every hour, as it takes the van almost a half hour each way to and from the city. It is supposed to be every half hour, but the van does not circulate unless they have to pick someone up, nor does it leave on demand. So you really have to schedule when you want to leave in the morning, and when you want to come back. That’s ok, but not great if you like to just stroll and get lost shopping etc in the city. Or if you are really tired after a city tour. Whenever we called the hotel to come back from the city, it was always an hour wait. The shuttle impossibly was never available sooner than that. Likely the shuttle service is better during the regular season, but is that 5* service? We ended up spending money on taxis back and forth.
Overall the hotel was nice, but far from 5 star quality. There are likely better hotels in the area, and it definitely is not worth the inconvenience if your goal is to tour Verona city. I would not completely rule out staying in the Valpollocella region while visiting Verona, because it is beautiful. But there are many other regional villas to consider, and Byblos fell short during our stay.
