How to Get There
Wonderful service throughout our 5 night stay in a Loft Villa. Picture post card views and crystal clear water. Snorkelling on the house reefs was awesome. Just from the steps of our villa (802) into the sea we saw sharks, sting rays and many colourful fish. Sunsets were as you would dream for. Spa treatments were thorough and first class. Room services and cleaning were as you would hope for. But what was truly outstanding was the food served in the restaurant - all delicious and well presented. Really 10/10. Our short stay was perfect - thank you!
Como Cocoa was the recommended resort spot over a few others by our Travel Agent Amala Travel.
One big concern of the Maldives is getting to the resort coming off a late arrival flight into Male. Boat transfer provided by the hotel was essential. The Como representative was waiting for us on arrival to bring us the few steps to the fast boat ferry that took us to the resort.
Arriving at night Como was almost magical with the landscaped lighting and being taken from the reception to the overwater villas. The villa we were given was a loft villa which was very comfortable and spacious. Nice outdoor private deck with direct access to the clear and shallow lagoon waters. Como provides their signature Invigorate scent amenities for the bathroom which were a joy to use.
The scene in the morning was breathtaking waking up to the crystal clear lagoon waters and the serenity of it all.
The food at Como was simply divine. Though a little toned down on the spice levels to accommodate international travelers, the choice and change in menus every day made each dining experience unique.
They have 25 kitchen staff cooking up a whole spread of international cuisine. Wait staff are patient and friendly, making good recommendations for each meal. We chose to go mainly with the seafood for the duration of our trip which was prepared fresh and perfectly with each dish.
All in it was an exceptional holiday experience and a trip we consider now making an annual affair to recharge ourselves from our usual busy work schedules.
Great quiet small island with good and easy possibilities for snorkelling and scuba diving. Lived in a Loft Villa which was fantastic. Also and important a very good restaurant with delicious seafood. Really nice staff. Highly recommended.
The Como Cocoa Island is a real winner. The property has been around for a while and yet can easily outcompete the newer and more cutting edge resorts throughout the Maldives. Como relies on what’s tried and true - you’ll have comfortable lodging, flawless service, delicious meals, and surroundings that resemble your ideal paradise. There’s no superficial gloss here.
And for that reason, the patrons are happy and many have returned time and again.
For us, highlights were the easy access to the water, the professional dive center with awesome instructors, and the regional cuisine from a master chef. It’s easy to try a different curry everyday - just ask!
The accommodations are very comfortable and everything within them is of high quality. The bed is great and the bath products have a nice scent. The hotel probably will need to renovate the bathrooms sooner or later as they’re definitely showing some age, but everything else was perfect. The day bed and the minibar with snacks and coffee were nice amenities to have when you don’t want to wander out.
It was so difficult to leave the island after 5 days. You’ll finally know what island time is! Thanks again to the staff for making us feel welcome and for the incredible, personalized service.
This is our first time in Maldives and we deliberately chose a small resort with limited facilities as we were interested in a more personalised experience, a quiet resort (no loud music) and great scuba diving and food. This is exactly what we got. We took the half board option and the breakfast and dinner was so delicious and varied that we never felt bored even there is only one restaurant. Some notes for divers, there are great dive sites within 10-15mins boat rides from the hotel and therefore the dive centre does dive excursions 3 times a day at 8.30am, 10.30am and 2.30pm. And in between dives, we return to the hotel for relaxation. I quite like this rather than to have to hang around on the boat in between dives (i get sea sick). Dives are not cheap but the rate includes also wets suit, BCD and even dive computer. We brought our own and did not get a discount.
We also went on an all day trip to see Whale Shark (which we saw....for about 10mins) and lunch on an isolated sand bank. The Whale Shark was definitely worth seeing, but not sure its worth spending a whole day and a lot of money to hire a boat to see it. Its a private excursion, but if you can get others to share your boat, that could make it more worthwhile. All in all, we had a great time, and the above are not negative comments, but pointers for those who are thinking of staying here. The hotel runs a private boat transfer from Male Airport, which also goes at night. The trip is easy and about 45mins. Definitely to me is a plus that we do not need another seaplane or plane transfer to get to the resort.
