How to Get There
The hotel is nice and modern, rooms updated. there is beach area and restaurant directly across the road walking distance. Front desk staff is very friendly and helpful.
The only bad part is the restaurant. The food was good but extremely slow and there is none of the staff seem to know what to do. They need direction. You ask for coffee from one person, wait forever then another person brings. It would make sense to have one person doing all drinks, etc. another can bring food out, another cleans. But here no one knows what they are doing and it takes forever to get food!
Nice, modern hotel without losing the rain forest, jungle vibe. Rooms are immaculately clean with cold A/C and free fast WiFi. They have beach club across the street with plenty of chairs and cold beer, the beach itself is great calm enough to get into the warm water but has enough waves so it doesn't feel like a pool. The hotel also has a nice sized pool and a warm jacuzzi, with plenty of lounge chairs. Staff is helpful and will do their best to turn a frown upside down.
I recently stayed here for 3 nights based on a recommendation. I agree with another review that the restaurant food is ok and the service is soooo painfully slow. Our first day we arrived to the restaurant for breakfast, we were not even told that we could go up to the 'continental buffet'. No direction was given.... the communication lacks. In the rooms--PROS: Beds are comfortable, lots of hot water, A/C is cold. PROS: Major lack of maintenance--previous ceiling leak was plastered, yet never sanded and painted. Cracks in the tile, cracks in the sinks, electrical outlets which were not covered and had exposed wire (!). This was a safety hazard. Exterior door--from the humidty the door swelled and the light from the outside came right in. We stayed in room 31... so beware . The pool for me was less to be desired: Pool water was murky and floor boards around the property (many were loose). There is also construction going on next door. The hotel has a TON of potential, however, as a business owner myself who manages 4 and 5 star properties, this falls short on many different levels.
