How to Get There
When I've experienced something really good, I feel it only fair that I share my experiences.
From the moment you arrive to the time you depart, you are well looked after, nothing is too much bother from the very efficient, friendly and helpful staff.
Rooms are spacious, well equipped and laid out, plus have extremely comfortable beds. The pool area is stunning and large with comfortable loungers/beds if you can get one.
Great choice for breakfast and they even catered for us with an early departure time.
Surin beach is only a couple of mins walk away which we used a few times. We also used visited Kamala beach a couple of times (where HQ Beach bar is). Catch is also worth a visit situated on the huge Bangtao beach. Both these Beach bars are serviced by the hotel with their extremely reliable and convenient shuttle.
In summary, brilliant place and would go back in a heartbeat. I can never really understand the negative comments, but you will always get a few no matter where you are, however as you'll see from the reviews, the good ones far outweigh the bad.
We have just returned home after a two week visit to Twinpalms for the second year running. We were not disappointed, still as fantastic as we remembered the first time! We asked via email if we would be able to have the same room as last year and upon arrival they said this was already taken care of (nice touch) What is really noticeable at the Twinpalms is the friendly attentive staff, every member you come across will always welcome you with a smile and “Sawadee ka” “hello”. Having travelled the world as airline crew and stayed in some of the best 5* hotels, the Twinpalms is certainly superior. Rooms are spacious, plenty of towels, toiletries and plug sockets. The bed is huge and extremely comfortable. Cleaning staff do a super job daily. Whilst staying we unfortunately left our camera and sunglasses on the shuttle bus after an evening out. Staff at reception took immediate control of ensuring these items were returned to us, greatly appreciated! Breakfast has lots of choice from English to cold meats, smoked salmon, cereals, Thai and fresh juices. I read a previous report that stated staff were unwilling to serve Cappuccino’s. Quite the contrary! My Fiancé loves his coffee and every morning was served one by a member of smiling staff. The beach is a 2min walk across the road, if that. If you are feeling lazy, the beach butler can drive you, which we never felt the need. Padded beach mats and towels are provided. We would like to thank everyone at the Twinpalms for a truly wonderful stay! Your consistency in delivering fantastic service does not go unnoticed. A special thanks to “Bao” our beach butler. He made us feel very special, looking after us on the beach, moving our beds even when we said we could do it ourselves. He really is an asset to the hotel, please pass on our grateful thanks for his kindness and attentiveness. We are already looking forward to seeing you again next year our “home from home” well done Twinpalms!! 👏👏 Sharon & Simon
We stayed here for our last 2 nights. Rooms were modern and nice. At this price point, one do expect more and Twinpalms duly deliver in hardware. Its quiet, relaxing and welcoming. Guests can take the shuttle to the Beach Club @ Bang Tao and the facility is nice and well maintained. Breakfast had a gd spread and flavorful. Service on the whole is pleasant and professional - perhaps just lacking during breakfast and Sunday brunch where the servers can be curt and generally finds getting cups of capuccino a hassle. At this price level, they can be more accommodating.
We booked this hotel for 2 nights out of our 3 week anniversary trip. We stayed at other hotels in Phuket and then came here. The lobby was beautiful, grounds are ok, spa is amazing. That’s where it ended. The customer service was horrible. There was an incident where there were thousands of bees in our pool, in the hallway, on the walls..THOUSANDS! We waited 2 hours until we were able to leave our room and dodge the bees. When we got to the lobby to tell them about the situation they blamed it on the fact that one of the guests must have let a bees nest free. They did not apologize once. We paid for a private pool and weren’t even able to use it because it was full of bees (see picture)
We asked for some sort of compensation for our troubles but they refused to give
Us anything. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone
Perhaps we’ve been spoiled by other 5* hotels, whilst Twinpalms tries hard it just doesn’t deliver on so many grounds.
1. This hotel is not on the beach, but in a rather grotty side street opposite the beach car par. Surin beach has lost its restaurants and bars.
2. The pool looks idyllic in the empty marketing pictures, it’s not. Long, thin, crowded with uncomfortable designer sun beds (if you can find one).
3. Lots of wedding parties from UK and Oz during our visit. Loud and drinking alcohol in the pool in large groups.
4. Pool service is non-existant and due to large crowds nowhere to sit at the pool bar/restaurant. On the two occasions we tried food had run out.
5. Breakfast was pretty good but again let down by the service.
6. Rooms are clinical, white and quite harsh on the eye. Also spoiled by the noise of people frolicking in pool rooms.
We booked for 6 nights but checked out after two. There is nothing wrong with this hotel, it’s just more of a party place. We did get a small discount but effectively lost most of the cost! Disappointing.
If you want peace, tranquility and authentic Thai service consider somewhere else.
