Angsana Laguna Phuket
What We Love
- The service: Friendly without being overly familiar, and genuinely patient; it’s the famous Thai hospitality on full display
- Great Thai and international offerings at casual Market Place restaurant
- The spa: An affordable and wide-ranging spa menu, with everything from scrubs and body wraps to massages and facials of all stripes
- At the resort’s heart is an enormous free-form pool
- Central location means you don’t have to worry about a stressful or lengthy drive to/from the airport or into Phuket town
What To Know
- This is primarily a family and honeymooners resort; those seeking solitude or silence will get annoyed
- The grounds are extensive, and the property is mostly open-air, so if you have problems walking or need wall-to-wall air conditioning, this isn’t the place for you
- Phuket isn’t Maui: There’s no luxury shopping here, and no glitz (which is central to its charm)
- Pack the bug spray. Phuket, like all tropical islands, can be buggy, and the resort does sit atop a lagoon
- Free WiFi
- Kids Club
- Parking On Site

How to Get There
We booked a family holiday with my mum who’s on a wheelchair and has multiple health issues .
We asked for a disability access room and were assured that the 3 bed villa is suitable for it . However when we arrived we found a big flight of stairs to enter the villa
There was no bedroom downstairs and no wheelchair access to go up to bedroom so we had to get a folding bed for mum. As the trip progressed we were told the only way to reach out from villa to beach/breakfast area/pool etc was first to take a club car and then a van . This was highly inconvenient for my mum to get in and out of so many different vehicles and my sister and I had to lift her up to make her get in and out .... we asked repeatedly to change villa or room but it was fully booked so they offered us Masage for 2 ( we were a party of 6)
At the end of our stay my mum was so exhausted with all the additional stress that she fell and injured her self and we had to rush her in an ambulance to ER !!
The staff was courteous but the misinformation and the lack of facility was terrible . We will NEVER EVER stay here again !
Well located for isolated relaxation with family. Far from all ...
Need a car for sure

Amazing staff ......!
I was booked into the one bedroom loft between the 25th and 28th of January and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The room was spacious, well maintained, and in general so was the entire property. If I had to make one suggestion it would be for the glass door to the outdoor shower to shut completely, thus preventing any pests from entering the indoor bathroom.
I was part of a large group staying at the resort for a family wedding, and I have to say I was plesantly surprised with the management's attention to detail. However, at the same time, I was let down by some slow and inconsistent service. As with most families there are elderly individuals who need assistance in moving around. Angsana's property is massive, and I wouldn't recommend it to families travelling with handicapped or the elderly due to the amount of walking required. The resort provides a buggy service but it seems to take forever to arrive, and often the instructions aren't properly communicated to the respective team. On more than a few occassions I'd find myself having requested the buggy for the elderly members of the group, and 15 minutes later it's still no where to be seen, leaving the elderly on their feet for extended periods of time. This is something that could use improvement.
On another note, the Angsana Spa was fantastic. My wife and I book massages on almost every holiday, and I have to say this is one of the best massages I've ever received. And finally, the staff and the front desk were extremely helpful, and were even able to accommodate my request for a late checkout at 5pm due to my flight schedule.
Overall, Angsana Laguna was a very comfortable stay and I'd love to come back, I highly recommend it. Hopefully they can address the problems I've pointed out, especially with regards to the availability of the buggy for elderly or handicapped guests.
Very friendly and helpful staff. The room was comfortable and clean and the hotel setting was beautiful. The pool area was very pleasant with quiet areas and being so close to the beach was lovely during the day and in the evenings we walked along the shore watching the sun set.
My wife and myself have just returned from our annual two week break in Phuket and this year - courtesy of being Angsana Vacation Club members - had access to the Swimming Pool at the Angsana Laguna Phuket Hotel.
This was warmly received as the swimming pool - which meanders around the property - is certainly one of the best on the Island. In addition, the sun loungers and towels are both good quality - as is the service provided by the Swimming Pool attendants. As such, we made use of the facility on a daily basis on return from our morning walk on the equally outstanding nearby Bang Tao Beach (see separate Review).
Hopefully, this benefit will remain in place as we look forward to making good use of the facility on our next visit.
