How to Get There
Visited this hotel during December for my fiance's birthday and we had an amazing time. Upgraded from the pool suite to the penthouse. Penthouse has a much bigger pool, double the size from the pool suite, separate kitchen and livingroom.
The views are to die for, two televisions and two ipods for music and entertainment. The bathroom is beautiful with a separate elegant tub, that can fit two people and leave some room for movement.
The breakfast buffet is pretty good, a la carte menu plus self serve dishes such as exotic fruits, pastries, fresh juice, desserts and local dishes such as pad thai and stir fry rice/noodles.
Services was excellent, all the staff was genuine and courteous. The tuk tuks are available to drive you around the property at all times and drivers are very nice and polite. The ambient is calm and relaxing.
The gym and the sauna are very clean, and some of the best we've visited.
One thing to improve is the need for a pharmacy inside the hotel, although there is one near by, about a 10 minute walk from the hotel and for the price which is pretty high, lunch and dinner should be included.
Special thanks to all the staff who assisted us and were involved in surprising my fiancee with a birthday cake, he absolutely loved it and it was delicious.
Definitely recommend and would go back in the future.
I was at Sri Panwa for a wedding, we stayed in C10 and it was one of the most incredible experiences I've ever had. The view was wonderful of the water, don't miss the sunset or sunrise! The food at the pool and the restaurant was exceptional. Fresh and definitely authentic Thai. The service is un-matched with a Tuk-Tuk a phone call away to bring you anywhere on the property or to the main gate for excursions beyond. Words really cannot describe the 5 days we spent at this resort.
This was one of the worst "luxury hotel" experiences I have ever had. We stayed in a 1 bedroom luxury pool villa for 2 nights. Our room wasn't ready upon check in so we went to relax at the pool. We were there for over 3 hours with no service. I would expect at a 5 star hotel to at least have been offered water. The view on the website looks beautiful but what we arrived to was a view of oil tankers. There is an extra charge to have breakfast in your room. Half of the restaurants were closed for private events during our stay. One of the main reasons I wanted to stay at this hotel was for the Baba Nest Rooftop bar. I tried to make a reservation about a month before our stay and it was fully booked! Again, for the price of the room ($800/night) I would expect them to reserve some spots for hotel guests! For the price of this hotel, I was highly disappointed and would never recommend it or stay here again.
We booked a pool suite west for 4 nights at Sri Panwa based on the information (which we now know is dishonest & false information). The website information lured us with key words like 'oasis of calm & luxury', 'MAXIMUM privacy' & 'breathtaking views of the Andaman Ocean' - I've taken a screenshot of the website & attached it. The price was about baht 16,000 (USD 500). On arrival we were shocked of exactly the opposite: there's the common pool & playground with children screaming just beneath our room, looking towards the ocean we see the concrete structure of the aquarium/oceanographic building & a large boat jetty (photos attached). The only thing that was true was the private pool - with NO privacy though. We asked for the room to be changed as it didn't reflect what was offered on the website & we were offered (management seemingly was making us a favour to change the room) firstly a villa with a discounted rate of baht 13,000 (USD 450) or a different private pool room for baht USD 3,000 (which they later reduced to baht 2,000)! That room was near restaurants, hence we would expect more noise in the evening. We were so disgusted that we asked for full refund to leave immediately. Of course the booking was non - refundable, but I've been to many resorts (e.g Intercontinental where they still refunded me for a room my wife & I were disappointed with). They bluntly refused to refund saying that 'you may leave NO REFUND'.
When complaining about lack of privacy (EXTREME PRIVACY mentioned on website), the duty manager said that they meant we should stay in our room for that! In other words may be we would have been better off staying at home for privacy.
The personnel was not able to deal with the situation at all. There is no General Manager who appeared to be travelling or an assistant who could take prompt decision. Intermediate staff went to & fro may be 5 times to try to make a decision as we were not paying extra for sheer lie on the hotel's information. Management (we never understood who was in charge) kept hiding behind staff without the courage to speak directly to us. Reception would not give us the email address of the General or Hotel's Manager as we understood we were simple mortals before that VIP.
Management does NOT CARE about for customer relationship. This is just a rip off machine as the hotel doesn't need you after grabbing your money.
Other small niggles like the safe which is just there and not fixed to the wall as a hotel guest would expect. The room is equipped with a nice BOSE sound system but being on our unlucky night the next door neighbour had the music blaring early morning!
This is, to staff's own admission, a MUSIC & PARTY HOTEL, and not a quiet hotel. I would presume party hotels would be much cheaper though. Once bitten twice shy, next time we'll stick to the known hotel brands where we are sure to get customer care, recourse when something goes wrong and above all peace & creature comfort. This is definitely not my style of hotel and it not a 5 star environment.
Firstly, we cannot thank the wonderful staff of Sri Panwa enough for making us feel at home and in pure relaxation for our 5 day visit. We came here to escape, recover and relax - and there could not have been a better oasis to do so! We stayed in the Habita Suite where we had sea-facing pool villa. No corner of the entire resort is left to the ordinary - the design and aesthetic throughout are incredible, and the views from so many parts of Sri Panwa just breathtaking. Whether at breakfast, on the beach, from our room or the many beautiful swimming pools, we felt we could just stare out at the ocean for hours. We also enjoyed our dining experience, particularly at Baba Soul food. I also took advantage of the on-site tennis trainer who also does personal training and boxing - lots of fun. The fitness centre and game room are also top notch. All in all, we are counting the days until we can return!
