How to Get There
I've heard about how scenic this place was from other people but given the distance from Manila, I wasn't that inspired to go and visit until I was invited to a wedding that was held here. So to stay here I had to pay the full room rate upon reservation, breakfast was an option (as you had nowhere else to eat), fly 40 mins. from Manila and then take the hotel's shuttle bus (for a fee) for another 40-50 mins.
The place itself was terrific, the room we got had a beach view balcony to die for and was most suitable for honeymooners. Our room was on the third floor with no elevators so guests who are elderly or with access problems, be sure to book rooms at ground level. The bed, pillows and linen were comfy enough, there was a big HDTV with cable channels on the wall, bathrobes, iron and ironing board, slippers, in-room safe, coffee and tea maker, 2 bottles of mineral water, hair dryer and toiletries. As I mentioned the room is best for honeymooners as the bath tub was practically at the center of the room with no walls (just curtains) hence providing an opportunity to exhibit your birthday suit. But if you're modest, there's always the separate shower cubicle. Nice huh?
Now here's the lowdowns: the room light switches have no labels so you have to try each to know which controls which light. Second, because the tub is in the middle they had to make the floor around about an inch lower to prevent spilled water from spreading throughout the room. That's logical but the problem is my wife had 2 near-falls because she almost tripped hitting those floor depressions. Thirdly, I was awakened twice by 2 noises: first by a group singing the birthday song at the strike of midnight, and second by a group singing a religious hymn (?) at 4:30 IN THE MORNING! How can some people be so inconsiderate?
Staff service was average. Though I was told on check-in that my room was upgraded, it took almost 30 mins. before we could get to the room. Breakfast buffet was also average, for the price I paid I was expecting a wide spread but it wasn't so. They only had 1 choice of juice, no cheeses or cold cuts around,
The resort also had a regular and kids' pools, a gym, watersports (like jetski) and spa but I did not avail of those so can't comment.
Overall, the place is undoubtedly a lovely place but could use some improvements in terms of food, service and rules with respect to noise control.
That was our second time in Misibis and it was better. Our room is huge and very comfortable. The view is nicer as we have garden view before. The only downgrade from previous was the food in the buffet (maybe because of lesser guests).
Overall, we still had a memorable experience. Kudos to the staff and their manager, Carlo! Until next time... :)
Family (4 Senior + 6 adults + 2 teens + 3 kids + 1 Baby) - nice place and the kids enjoyed it. Senior citizen got some 2 days rest. Last week of Oct - weather was good.
Facilities - it is OK. Beach is also OK. Activities - it is good.
Restaurant (for breakfast / lunch / dinner) - my comment is that you have no choice. You will really have to take lunch at their restaurant unless you go for those tour.
Buffet option - too expensive and very sorry to say, not much choices. It is good and I am very happy that we have the option for a la carte. Unfortunately, the choices are also limited and problem is some are not available. For example, the kids were happy to see pizza choices (for pizza night dinner after whole day swim) but we were told they ran out of dough. Hope they can have more option for dining.
If you are planning to visit Legazpi City to see Mayon, then I can recommend Misibis Bay. Our family holiday is to tour Legazpi, see places, visit Cagsawa and Mayon and then try to check out this resort.
Front Desk is very nice and accomodating, helpful.
Rooms are very spacious, it has king size bed, and an extra space in the window which have lots of pillow that you can stay all day reading books. and the bath tubs are awesome it can fit a couple while drinking wine hahaha! Food is also good. Although the Breakfast buffet has limited choices, nevertheless, it was satisfying. Beach is not what you expect to be but we find it so relaxing, you can try also their motorized and non-motorized water sports activity.
Perfect location for holding a conference. Secluded but all conference and comfort amenities complete. Great views for each room. Delicious food and impeccable service. Sightseeing tours to view majestic Mayon and other activities available.
