How to Get There
We used to love this place, but this last visit has left very disappointed, within 2 minutes of entering our room there where visible problems, more upon further inspection worst one being a completely missing vent on the French doors ( immediately noticeable upon entering room, all problems where sorted after reporting them (but all should gave been picked up before making room available) the breakfast was a big disappointment, the continental has gone from something really amazing to something that cannot be called a continental breakfast, no cheese no meats , very limited fruit, no Danish's and as for the cooked breakfast one sausage, half of a tomato, one round of bacon a handful of mushrooms one round of toast and the smallest pot (no more than a desert spoon) of beans and an egg. Waking up to find the outside seating and tables have been removed from your patio is Not Good. A huge disappointment from our previous visits, a place we used to love coming to has taken a downard turn, we will have to check reviews to see if there has been any improvement before we consider returning to what was a favourite place to come to.
Nice and comfy room, great walk in shower (I am unable to get into a bath as disabled), friendly staff, the breakfast was very good the only downside was the swimming pool is not disabled friendly, the stars would have been 5 stars if the pool had been accessible
2 night stay as a couple , stayed in an ullswater suite, very nice and clean , good amount of space.
Hotel clean and tidy as is the cafe bar. There was not enough staff working , especially in the bar area , they were run off their feet trying to serve at the bar , wait on etc. So could be quite a wait to be served. Hotel lacked a little atmosphere.
We arrived after dark , parked the car , but had trouble finding reception as very little lighting in car park and unlit signs .
We would probably return.
