How to Get There
Experience overall was favorable. The resort was quiet for the first few days but did get fuller near the end of our stay. We never had trouble getting loungers beside pools even though there were 6 of us. There is not much shade by the pools so getting an umbrella was a good idea. Some were missing pins to keep them fully extended but could usually get one of those from the servers. Rooms were spacious and well equipped. My complaint here as that the maids were coming to clean room at same time I wanted to get ready for dinner. Our mini-bar was constantly replenished and their was an in-room safe for our valuables. The restaurants all had good food and drinks. Our fav was the Italian followed closely by French and Mexican. Word of caution - make sure your hamburgers are cooked. The beach had a lot of seaweed on it but that did not stop us from getting at least 10k steps a day on it. You have lots of people trying to sell you excursions so be careful. We didn't take any extra trips but would have done that through the hotel and not those on the beach. The wait-staff are all good and know English. Our favorite bartender was Marino in the Piano Bar.

accomadations were a toss up at the beginning. we had to move rooms as we had bugs in our room when we got in. We got upgraded to a room facing the beach that was bigger with a corner balcony. It worked out well. Food and service was great.
Have come back again. Great bananna milkshakes.
Loved the resort!! Amazing staff, fun activities, and an overall a fabulous week! Roger, Samuel, Chocolate and Williams were incredible!
The view was beautiful, food was delicious with a good variety of restaurants, and lots of things to do! Wish there was an option for more than 5 stars!
From the moment we walked in it was a nightmare. There was no warm greeting, check in was a long process for what reason I don’t know. Had to wait for our room because it wasn’t ready. When we finally received our keys we had to wait for a trolley to take us to our room. A trolley finally came and a women supervisor not knowing I spoke spanish told the driver to keep going that we could wait for the next one because she was in a hurry. Of course I called her out on it and she ignored me as if she said nothing..
Disgusting!!!! I almost fell entering room as there was a huge puddle in the entry way, minibar was empty and filthy. Bugs everywhere. I called to speak to a manager and no one wanted to come to the phone. Finally a manager name VICTOR came on the phone and told me I had to wait and someone would be right with me and hung up on me. Housekeeping came to mop floor... that is when we noticed door didn’t even close, safe didn’t work. I called for a manager once again, by this point I wanted another room, no manager wanted to talk to me nor my husband. They sent an engineer, I didn’t let him fix the door until a manager spoke to me. Nothing 30 mins later a Victor called my room, engineer picked up the phone not Me. Again not knowing I could hear him through the phone and able to understand Spanish...unprofessionally he asked the engineer “ Que Carajo quiere.?” In other terms wtf does she want. I took the phone and asked him to ask me himself and how dare he speak in that manner As a manager. My husband went to the front desk and handle the rest. Finally they changed our room, again minibar was empty, safe didn’t work. I called for minibar 10 times before someone came. I didn’t even bother calling for safe.
Food was so disgusting, McDonald’s food taste better compared to theirs.
Supervisor there called us cheap because we didnt want to buy a timeshares, wth would we waste our money on a property like this. Crazy. We walked out.
We could not deal with this hotels unprofessionalism, so we checked out a day early. I have worked for hotels for over 10 years now and I would die if one of my employees treated a guest the way they treat people. They seriously need costumer service trAining and they need to rethink who they have in management
I was told upper management would give me a cAll. Until this day we have not heard from them. Emailed Dahiana was promised a phone call on Friday and it’s about to be Monday and nothing,
We weren’t the only ones complaining, the weekend we were there. Folks go else where, not worth your money!!!!!
We obviously enjoy the DR because we keep returning! The beaches are beautiful and the people are so friendly. I'm going to try to not repeat the last review, so I'll be quick. I will say what makes this resort so great is the amazing staff. We met Marino at the beach on our first visit and were happy to see him every time we returned. ON our first day we arrived, we learned he was no longer at the beach, this made me sad at first, but Belkis and Roberto took great care of us at the beach and we found our friend Marino at the Piano Bar in the evenings. We visited him every night at the Piano Bar....the piano can be relaxed and quiet or can be a lively crowd singing along to show tunes or Sweet Caroline..bah..bah...bah! The last couple days of our trip Elias took care of us on the beach, he never let my champagne/cranberry juice get empty!
We took advantage of being able to make reservations at the restaurants since we are Privilege, and Wilfredo, our Butler and friend made sure we were booked every night and had everything we could possibly need on our room. Wilfredo made our stay extra nice by making us feel so taken care of!
I really have to say that I could have a decent time at any resort, but the staff here, truly make us want to come back like we are visiting old friends.
Elvin took such good care of us at Breakfast by the beach ( I prefer the beach breakfast to the buffet, quick service and beautiful view, although the buffet is great too, just more personal service by the beach, more intimate.) Elvin even took the time to get my balsamic stain out of my outfit one night!!! You will also Joel and Belkis for breakfast by the beach, it makes you feel so good when they remember your name and greet you and treat you as friends.
The bartenders in Villa Marina, Nurky and Ramone knew our drink and always went above and beyond...if they were out of Ketel One Vodka or whatever we were drinking, they either went and got another bottle from somewhere or told us where we could find it!
We went on a fishing excursion and caught mahi mahi, you will need to sign a waiver, but they prepared for us in Villa Marina and it was delicous!
Even the chefs are super friendly and remember you and take time to say hello! Wendy by the beach, is always helpful and smiling and I found my old friend Josue Mota who I used to see every morning at the omelet station! It says a lot about a resort/company when they have such faithful employees who have stayed with them for so long. Like Gabina, who we see every trip, smiling and welcoming guest as the hostess, and Miguelina, and our new friend Odalina who laughed and carried on with us! ( the baked chicken by the beach is my favorite!!! )
So, the main issue we have to deal with is the beach erosion...they are taking measures, with geotubes to fix this, but mother nature seems to be working hard against them. If we swam, we would walk about 100 ft to the left or right and swim in beautiful water, no seeweed this time.
There are time share sales and excursion sales and shops when you walk around...don't let this bother you...just simply so no, if you aren't interested, these people are just doing their jobs.
We will be back again! Thank you to a wonderful staff for making our visit so great!
